- I guess you have figured out that today we are cleaning a VERY dirty oven! And guess what? "What?" (Thanks for playing.) We are using regular stuff you probably already have around your house to do it. 😱
Nice Kitchen and appliances! Thanks Tamz! Oven looks great.😎
Thank you! ☺️
That's why I always cover my jelly roll pans of bacon with aluminum foil then bake it! :-))) will still be completely done in about 40 minutes give or take and depending on what temp you are baking at, of course.
I still get some gunk now and then and will definitely try this, as I was told about it once before but wasn't convinced. Now you showed me it really works! YAY!
$1,000 eh? I need to find some people who want me to clean their ovens!!!
Me too! 😆 They must not have known better (?). I like your method of covering the bacon with foil. That would help reduce splatter to almost nothing!
Great work here, as always!
Thank you!
Looks like a lot of hard work my friend.
Not too bad for how terrible the oven was. 😊
Great job and tips. I'm dreading the task but do plan to clean my oven too. Yours looks clean compared to mine. I plan to remove the door because I have stains between the two pieces of glass. Thanks for the video!
Put on some good music and try to enjoy the process! 😊
i clean my bathtub and tiles with baking soda and vinegar, i use dawn (dish soap) and a pad for the oven. never thought of using the baking soda and vinegar in the oven.
Ha! I use dish soap and a pad to clean the tub and never thought about using baking soda and vinegar there!
You should do one on cleaning the burner top of ceramic stoves. They stain like ovens do.
I like your idea! And you are so right about how icky they get!
Good tips. Thank you! My mother (after cleaning her oven), placed foil on the racks, drip pan and, and bottom of oven to minimize grease spatters and spills to make cleaning a wee bit easier.
Question…. We have a black stove and microwave combo in our kitchen. Any suggestions for cleaning the range top and microwave facing of nagging fingerprints and smears ??
Thanks again. I love your kitchen design.
I like the foil idea! Anything to make this easier.
Have you tried a 50/50 vinegar and water solution? Also club soda works really well for smears and finger prints (but not heavy grease).
Looks PRETTY good
Not 100%! 😄
Good job Monk. $1000 to clean an oven? People be crazy or lazy.
Or both? 😳😆
Tamara, nicely done!Luckily for me, I just got a new oven so it's in good shape. I also only bake using a non-stick cast iron pot with a lid so my oven stays pretty clean. Pizza would be the exception. $500 - $1000 dollars? I'd just buy a new oven!😉
Thank you! Yours definitely stays clean! I mostly need to figure out how to corral the bacon grease in mine. 😋
I did see an ad on FB marketplace for oven cleaning. I thought it was weird. Most people have self cleaning ovens, so just run that function.
I have that function too, but as my oven is fairly old I’m a bit worried to use it. And yes, those ads are SO weird! A friend who has been paid to clean other people’s ovens has found the ovens often have the self cleaning option. 🤷🏻♀️
@@MonkeysKnow haha. Does she press the button and write up a bill?
She should! 😆
Good job! Have you tried doing this with Simple Green? I bet it will work super well, I use it on engine parts and it strips oil varnish well, but safe enough to wash your hands with.
😮 I have not tried Simple Green but am going to have to next time for sure!
Clean it, clean it real good.
I did! 😆
My oven is just over 15 years old and I know you said no metal. but I use Baking Soda and a wire wheel brush on my corded Drill and I'm done in less then a 1/2 hour and like I said my oven is 15 years old and the finish is perfect.....
Ha! I might try a nylon wheel on mine next time. Great idea!
I have definitely cleaned my oven this way. It was way more intense, I have teenagers and they baked sugary stuff that spilled over. It was a nightmare! Took many passes with a paint scraper, plus all the baking soda and vinegar you can imagine. 😅
Yikes! And I thought bacon grease and burned cheese was bad! 😄
Awesome Job : > )
Thank you! 😊
How could you let your oven get into that state in first place?
Improve house wife skills
Or house husband!
@@MonkeysKnow ha ha yr gd but cheek lol
At the beginning of the video, she says she let the oven get extra dirty, just to show that this method really works. Also, you don't have teenagers, clearly. Mine baked something with sugar that went over, and the sugar mess was baked into the bottom of the oven. I had to use a paint scraper to get that off, and that was after the kids "cleaned" the oven. 🙄
