I hope you are all okay. I have been enjoying the half-term with the kids - we went away for a week to the Lakes - and just getting to grips with some sad news this week. I meant to post this on Monday, but we lost our little Juno that night. It's been a sad week, but also a happy one, as it's Bill's 12th birthday today. But I guess that's how life tends to work. We are grieving the loss of our lovely old girl, but celebrating the young life of our eldest child. And it's a strange place to be. Anyway. I hope you enjoy this catch-up.

I'm a 35 year-old mum of three, who lives in Cheshire, in the UK, and this is my small part of the online world, where I share parts of my life - whether that's the day-to-day stuff, motherhood, recipes, or all that other stuff that makes me, me. I'm married to Mark, who is honestly my best mate, and we have three children, Bill, Daisy and Stanley, and they seem to be growing up so darn fast these days. We have a golden retriever called Merlin, and two cats called Romeo and Elsa and...hang on, this is sounding a bit like a kid's essay at school isn't it? Sorry about that! I have the tendency to ramble a bit. Life did not go to plan for me, but I am very grateful for that, otherwise I wouldn't be where I am today.
As for this channel, you might find everything from food videos, clothing hauls, home updates, vlogs now and again, and some topics close to my heart, such as coparenting, mental health, hearing loss and Stickler Syndrome too. I am a very average mum, but I try my absolute best at whatever I do, and hopefully you enjoy following along!

It’s a stage in life I don’t think we hear enough about sometimes. Motherhood chat is often focused on the baby/toddler years but this stage is so emotional and full of ups and downs. xx
Ahh Charlotte I really enjoyed that chatty vlog. Lovely to hear you talk about your gramps ❤ You are really lucky to be so intune with your kids and so are they 😍 You're doing a brilliant job. It does just fly even though, depending on what you're going through it can seem long. I cannot believe my "baby" is now 25 😮 I cannot believe it. We enjoyed every minute but it seems to have gone by too fast like fast forward. you're totally right about being in a sweet spot with the kids, when they are adults you miss this time more than you would ever believe , good thing though they bring their kids back for you to babysit 😅 ❤

That’s so lovely Elaine! I bet those moments with him (and your daughter) mean the absolute world! I feel like I’ve been very reflective this year - I keep thinking about how fast it has all gone and how much I hope I’ve done enough and made their childhood special enough. xx
you are a wonderful mum , honestly charlotte your kids are very lucky to have you and their dad/ step dad , you're always going things together as a family and you make time to give each of your children special time/ treats , I bet they are very excited for the family holiday , get away from this constant drizzle we're having here 😂 xxx

Thank you Jo! I’ve been feeling a bit bleurgh this week so you are very kind to say that. I’ve been back on it with the gym this week and I do find it helps my head a lot, but goodness I’m tired. And thank you. I hope so. Losing Juno this week has made me really sad and I feel like my grief for my grandad has been a bit harder since. I just wish I could bring them both back. xxx

I lost my grandad in 2021, it was my 1st expierence of grief (I'm 35) and I know I was so lucky to be able to have him for so many years of my life but wow grief is HARD - I think it's accepted that kids can act up when theyre grieving but being an adult and having to still show up for work etc it feels like its frowned upon I guess to have days where grief hits you like a brick and you just can't cope. (Don't know if that makes any sense, I am not good with words!)
Lovely, this makes A LOT of sense to me. I have felt just like this and I just want to say thank you, because it's comforted me to feel understood. But equally, I hate that you feel this way too. I am very tired from putting on a mask every day, but I am trying my best. It is all I can do. But you make sense, and I hope knowing that I understand validates your grief too. I am so sorry. He must have been so proud of you. xx
