Then Megatron resorts to one last option. If he couldn’t have Orion Pax complete Project Iacon, then the Autobots couldn’t have Optimus Prime as their leader. However, Prime came back before Megatron could land the final blow. In the end, the Autobots got back their leader, while Megatron only had the locations of three Autobot relics. Megatron was _so_ close to victory. And the added irony would’ve been the Autobots’ own destruction by the support of their own amnesic leader. But it wasn’t meant to be. Better luck next time, Megs.
I still can't believe that Megatron a character that's well known to have a massive fusion cannon on his arm didn't use it to simply shoot Optimus or Jack but instead just simply charge at them from a long distance.
Right. They could have also had Ratchet protect Prime with an improvised shield - a move that would make close combat necessary while buying Optimus more time.
