    I have been on a waiting list for 10mos, for the SCOTTS DAMPER bolt-on tower for my '23 HUS TX300. BRP delivered it to me mid-November 2023 and it is a nice piece of equipment.

    Wow, that thing is an absolutely carbon copy of the Showa steering damper from the pre-2017 CRF450R...so much so that I can only imagine that WP licensed the design from Showa. I've got the 24mm shaft version of the Showa damper (it's available in 21mm and 24mm shaft versions) that I use on a 350 XC-F in exceptionally rocky races, mounted using the Ride Engineering mount kit, and it works very well, is simple, super light, and takes like a minute to install and uninstall when it is and isn't needed. It's meant for motocross, so it doesn't provide nearly the level of overriding damping force that a lot of offroad guys seem to want, but for me that's great as I personally hate the feel of a damper. For the Showa model the 24mm shaft version provides a bit more damping than the 21mm version -- enough so that, for me, cranking the damping adjuster in to near the "slowest" / most restricted end provides *just* enough damping to settle the front end in mega rocky conditions without making the bike feel like an oil tanker. But for those wanting more you can change the damper's fluid out to heavier weight stuff and/or Race Tech even makes a "Gold Valve Kit" that you can re-valve the damper with and use to re-tune the unit for higher damping. This WP unit looks so identical to the Showa one that I wouldn't be surprised if the internals are identical and that the Race Tech kit might work in it. I'm sure Race Tech would have the answer to that.

    Precision Racing Products makes there stabilizer and it's a bolt on kit for these new bikes. Best one on the market in my opinion.

      I use one too. It works great, mounts in front of the handlebars so you don't have to move them. Lots of "pros" using it

    "Nobody is making mounts"
    BRP is definitely shipping Scotts kits to mount to a 2024 300 XC-W. I received mine about a week ago, and it seemed to install without any issue. This is a kit that I was on a list for that they called me to let me know the head tube mounting brackets were ready. Specifically, I got the rubber-mount sub mount and Scotts stabilizer directly from BRP.

      @@slaverace1 - No worries. Makes sense, and I figured something like that was probably the case. Good video for showing the WP, regardless.

    What do you think about a thin bead of black RTV/Silicone around top (Upsidedown “U”) where frame mount goes through steering tube ? A little sealing to reduce moisture getting in through Tiny gaps … ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Hello:
      I think you would be better off spending your time riding.

  • @robh3267

    That is a slick looking piece of hardware and quite different from any aftermarket setup, I personally stopped using dampers because unless your riding high speed desert stuff I never felt any real advantage to them and in some cases they would actually hinder the turn radius when I started using a Mako 360, for what a damper setup can cost I think that money is much better spent on other areas of the bike, I ride mostly mountain trails so a damper isn't that useful to me, I don't know why but none of the top factory guys run them either, but many people use them so it obviously must work for some and at my age I'll take anything I can get if it makes riding a bit less stressful on the body, you didn't mention what it cost but I bet it's a bit pricey.

      I have been looking at the Mako 360, so what are the true benefits for you as a rider?

    • @robh3267
      @robh3267 7 месяцев назад

      @@KOLFINNAx86 I ride an older 300exc and it has your typical 2 stroke vibration through the bars and it would make my hands go numb, the Mako all but eliminated that, it's expensive but worth every cent, it just increases your comfort level, a lot of top name riders use the Mako and Jarvis helped develop the latest version, it's a great aftermarket upgrade that actually works, I will never ride without one ever again.

      Do you feel like it taking away too much of the feed back from the ground kind of making the front end to soft? that you dont have the same feeling of what is under you if you get where I am going? @@robh3267

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hello:
      It does NOT make the front end softer and Jarvis did not help develop it. The feel remains the same, just makes your hands, elbows and shoulders happy. Excellent product.

      Hello:
      You can attach it to the throttle cable with a zip tie or many KTMs have a hollow triple clamp center bolt and you can put it there.

      Hello Mrrrrrrr:
      Not sure that I understand your question because all steering stabilizers damp off center. This unit has light damping compared to Scotts and others.
