I was jogging this morning near the woods. Then heard a loud Bark noise coming from the woods. I sprinted so fast, I almost pee'd my pants. No way I'm gonna just stay there and listen more.
I've just produced a woodland camp video, which features a Muntjac barking and I wanted to confirm it. This has done that superbly. Thanks for sharing. Awesome. Mark
Thank you. I just watched a couple of your videos and they've just made me realise how much I'm missing getting out on some proper footpaths at the moment :(
It also might be a fox. They sound almost identical. Caught a few in my wild camping videos too. Goes on all night sometimes. Always wear earplugs now.
Thank you for showing this. Although I live in a fairly built up area, I was told that a Muntjac deer was seen in the nearby park. I have heard this barking at night and I knew it was not a fox and suspected it might be a deer. Hearing this video now I know that is what I hear.
Dayum. I didn't know a deer could make such a racket. (I came to watch this video because I just read that a debunker of the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident wrote that it was partly caused by the uncanny sounds made by a muntjac deer.)
I had one of these outside our lodge. 3am I heard that. Run outside and chased it, cornered it. Was shaking like a leaf the poor little thing. Bark worst than it’s bite. Had no idea what it was though. They do what you don’t dare do people! 🎵 we own the night ✡️
Back when I lived near those woods, getting on for twenty years ago, they used to come into our garden. One day we disturbed one that was sleeping. When it woke up and saw us it was terrified. As it happened we'd inadvertently blocked its escape route. It ran in several different directions trying to find a way out, slamming into fences. It's a wonder it didn't injur itself. Finally it found a bit of fence it could jump over and that was the last we saw of it.
These are things are a plague here in the UK. They were introduced from Asia and have completely stripped the understorys off forests here since nothing keeps them in check. Very interesting animals though
It does look glitchy. It was shot nearly a decade ago on one of the first Sony DV camcorders. I bought it new in the last millennium! Image stabilisation was primitive and accounts for some of the glitches. More, I don’t even remember what software I used to capture to PC and upload it. It would have been cheap or free. Frame rate conversion if it happened would have made it more glitchy. (I’m in the UK so it would have been PAL/25 FPS and I don’t know how RUclips processed that six years ago.)
MiniTieGaming no worries yourself :) I was mostly reflecting on how much time has passed since then and how much easier it is to put things on RUclips these days.
Yes, there's something gone wrong with RUclips's encoding of this. Those glitches aren't real. I've still got the original video so if I get time I'll post it and put a link here in the description for this one. (But I'm very busy at the moment, so no promises as to when I'll be able to do this.)
Not a potato, but an old Digital Video camcorder, though it wasn't old at the time. I don't know why the video is so glitchy these days. It certainly wasn't when I first put it up all those years ago.
Yes, it's been up here for nearly a decade. I don't know what RUclips has done to it. It never used to glitch. In fact I've still got the original video, I should probably repost it somewhere.
I don't know, actually. I certainly felt threatened at that moment, which is why I stood up and let it see that I was bigger than him/her. I'm glad it backed off, too. Although these aren't very big for deer, I've seen them charge into fences and they have quite an impact.
Yep, I was kneeling down, so about his height. I wondered how long it would be before he charged. My nerve gave out after a few seconds and so I stood up. That's when he ran away.
I don't know, to be honest. This video has been up for a long time and I guess RUclips have re-encoded it for some reason, or maybe it wasn't properly encoded in the first place. One day I'll get round to putting it up again and maybe this time it'll work properly.
Daria Krousti Oh, and how I love lamb. Found a place in the USA where I can get lamb for $1 a pound when I'm there. These deer might be tasty but after watching "Benji the Bobcat" channel it would be hard for me to eat one. Go see what I mean. I eat Axis deer, Whitetail deer, Elk, Mule deer, moose... but I don't think I could eat one of these barking deer. Maybe. I don't know.
I wish I knew. It's old video that I put up a long time ago, but I'm sure it wasn't as glitchy as this the last time I looked at it. I wonder if RUclips have reprocessed it for some reason.

Same. Wasn't sure if what I could hear was a muntjac or maybe a fox. Definitely a muntjac
Same! It's been yelling on repeat all night
It doesn't appear to realize that all of the intimidation factor of a deer is in the fact that they are large and it is two feet tall at the most
I think he stomps to sound heavier lol

Foxes usually scream though
It's the female foxes scream.
Fox bark higher in pitch than muntjac.
