The only time I've ever heard that tone replicated. This whole album is even better if you listen to it baked in the dark. The heaviest riffs I've ever heard to this day
You should definitely listen to the original, it's brutal, but not in the "death metal" sense. Everything on that track is just beautiful in my opinion. Even the drums have nice creativity and variation throughout the song so it's not just another "good riffs with generic backing track" kind of song. The lyrics and vocals add a lot to the song as well, while the vocals themselves aren't something revolutionary, they definitely fit the tone and song. The bass also packs a nice heavy flow. Honestly, probably electric wizard's best song they've ever written.
@@r.edward5701 for real stacking my tubescreamer and muff gives some great tones but its not quite there. Just recently got an orange tremlord 30 and that got me much closer
Dude.... That Warlord guitar is the most beautiful instrument I've ever seen..... It became my #1 dream guitar. Before I was dreaming about Reverend sensei purple (I kinda like purple guitars) and I also need one telecaster... Oh and dunable Cyclops..... But that Warlord.... Can't wait to see how does it look like with those anvill inlays and cream binding..... I just need to have this guitar before I die.... Thanks for bringing this awesome shaped stick back to live
Hellyeah!!! ive been looking for this for a long time... ive been strugling with that part after the 2nd chorus (and now i realized i got wrong that "hendrix chord" too) at some point i gave up and look up for a tab but it was in D Standard... sure... Great video... AWESOME work as usual Keep on Doomin' EDIT: That TONE tho...
Sorry if you’ve answered this already, but do you know of an iOS app that has B standard tuning? I have a few tuning apps and none of them have B standard
If it shows the note that your guitar is currently playing, you can tune to B. B standard is (assuming you use a six string) from biggest to smallest string, B E A D F# B. Some people say Gb instead of F#. It’s the same thing said differently. I use the fender tune app.
@@AlexanderXtcSlayin in auto tuner or pro tuner it will show the note that you are currently playing. Auto tuner will show a circle that turns green when it’s perfectly in pitch. Pro tuner shows a needle with specific hertz and cents. They both show the corresponding letter to the note. They don’t have a specific setting that says “b standard” as far as I’m aware. Just pick one string at a time and make sure from bottom to top (biggest to smallest) the open note strings are B E A D F# B. A lot of death metal is in B as well if you like that. Have fun ripping in B.
Great lesson brother!!! There are enough great riffs in that tune that I could have written 3 of my songs with them!!!😂😂😂 Also, that pedal may be the heaviest fucking thing I’ve ever heard!!! Keep up the great work Steve!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Man, I have no musical education beyond just self taught. I apologize if I got the wording wrong here everyone. With that said, the beginning riff, is that just a power chord on the 4th string? 10th fret?
While I agree with this, I think they just passed the torch to other great bands to continue the heavy, kings don’t live forever, but the good ones live forever and are changed by the people who were inspired.

Glad you liked the tone!
did this with dopethrone and have NEVER been the same, it's like the guitar tone is buzzing and humming in my head forever.
this song got such a winter vibe to it in my opinion
Wizard in Black was the first EW song I ever heard, and it hooked me right away. That main riff is just perfect
For sure.
Same here dude. It's so greasy. I love it.
@@brpadington"thats fackin greasy"

Absolutely. Genre defining.
This one sounds heavy but a nice groove to it. I’ve never heard the original but I like how this sounds.

The tones were sick on this. Totally Jawdropping.

That’s the most notes ever played in an Electric Wizard song. Ever.
Hahaha!
@@DoesItDoom Steve, thanks for the video, and the pedal is killer. Really good range of fuzz and it does well with stoner rock tones, too.

How heavy do you go? 12-56 is my typical gauge for B-Std. I go up to 13-65 For A or A# Std.
