It also protects you in the car from sun damage as a driver/passenger. Being a fan of police cam type videos though, I've heard that fully tinting your front windows is illegal in a lot of states, unless I'm mistaken? (I'm not from the US). Not sure why though, unless it's for police safety, in the case of a traffic stop, so they can see the driver when the windows are up?

Vehicles come from the factory with tint, like any SUV or Minivan you've seen you're entire life and might not have noticed...
So your question about tinted windows. 2 answers, 1st it helps keep your car interior cool however there is a tint that is clear but the material blocks 50% or more of the UV rays. 2nd it looks so cool!!
Yessss. As a Floridian with a black car and black interior, the darker the tint, the better. I actually get burned by my seatbelt buckle during the summer.

Tinting my windows is the first thing I do with any car I buy if it wasn’t already done. Tinted windows keeps people from seeing what you have in your car that might be enticing. Especially when it’s in parking lots. Also made me way more comfortable as a paranoid mom and female in general because kids leave very obvious signs in the backseat which could make you a target as well as some “girly” things we tend to leave in our cars. The world can be scary and a couple hundred dollars to tint my windows and possibly deter someone seems worth it to me.

I have mine tinted pretty dark because I'm so pale that I burn really fast & I lastly dad to the worst form of skin cancer. So its just an extra step for me to try to stay safe from the UV rays.

It might be they moved into the area from a state with a lot of sun or a desert, my state has a desert and the cars made for here already have pretty tinted windows, but there are some people who get a pretty dark tint to help combat the sun and the heat it generates.
Live in TX one summer and you’ll feel differently about tinted windows 😂 but its also very good for minimizing UV exposure, esp for those of us that drive a lot 😊
My son worked as a pizza delivery person when he was in-between computer tech jobs. Some of the neighborhoods he went to were sketchy at best. He tinted his windows to hide the pizza boxes in case anyone looking in might think he had a lot of cash on hand and break in. Even when the police stopped him for having the front side windows tinted a couple of shades too dark - he was not cited because the tint was done for safety purposes.
Because we don’t want to drive around in a fish bowl. Especially in an electric car at the charging station everyone’s just sitting there looking around. And it looks aesthetically better in my opinion.

My windows are tinted due to chronic migraines. Especially when driving at night with headlights behind me. I have been known (on several occasions) to drive with sunglasses at night to help prevent a migraine. I don't keep anything of value in my car so it's not always for privacy. 😊

I have tinted windows on my car. I have two little children (2 years old and 3 months) that have light blue eyes so the sun hurts them. I tinted the windows so my kids don't cry when the sun gets in their face while driving.

A friend of mine when he was a kid had a BB gun and he had accident and it hit his eye. So now he has a patch on his eye and he has a note from his doctor that he needs his all his windows tinted because of the sun. He gets crap from the police about it. But he has a letter from his doctor so they leave him alone now.

My car windows are tinted pretty dark too. Why? It came that way! I do like that the dark tint on the back window works great at night to dim bright lights in the rear view mirror.

I don’t have a front tint but have a heavy tint otherwise for sun protection. I’ve had skin cancer twice and my dermatologist recommended it!

A lot of cars with dark tinted windows are Private Investigators. That way they can do stakeouts and take photos and videos without really being seen.

My tint helps against light sensitivity which helps prevent my migraines! You can even get an exemption if your in a state that tint is illegal.
My windows are tinted to protect the interior from heat/sun, and it reduces the temp in the car a little.
