But what if your job happens to be the most powerful position in the country - or the world? That's where impeachment comes in. But how does it work? Alex Gendler details the process of impeachment.

The truth, guys- RUclips Algorithm reads current events
well if a lot of people search for a topic then youtube will recommend it and since the topic is really relevant for a lot of people, lots of people search for the topic. then the recommendation start recommending even more and now we are in a endless loop that will slow down when the topic isn't relevant anymore. SO the algorithm isn't really reading the current events it's just trying to stay relevant with our own intrest. or maybe that is what they want me to say hhmmmmmm
Truth! We're about to have the third ever impeachment of a sitting president!
@Jonathan Lumbreras Didn't say he would, just said he'd be impeached... meaning the House gets a simple majority to impeach. You'd know this if you'd bother to watch the video.
Jonathan Lumbreras We shall see.
Makes More sense
These views are about to skyrocket.
Yep, if the house does vote and its successful there's going to be a lot of angry Lefty's when they find out he's not immediately removed.
Edited to be more clear on what I meant.

Google User - how is that interesting? I simply find it reasonable when there is a difficult subject discussed in the public to give them facts.

Anyone here after Trump was impeached in 2019?
It just popped up in my feed but i was curious
@Arbeit Macht frei yes I know but it's still crazy, this is the third time it's happened ever.
Yeah
@Shivani2006 There's no treason, and the accusation of a crime is rather lame. Trump asked Ukraine to look into Joe Biden. Joe Biden's son has fishy a $50k/month job with a Ukranian oil company without any experience, education etc to have the job. Finding Biden involved in corruption would be good for the U.S., and good for Trump. If you see it good for the U.S., it looks like nothing. If you see Trump trying to take Biden down ahead of 2020, you might try to impeach him. That's it. Quite unbelievable that it's gone this far.
@@danielwinsor6018 wheter or not biden did something is irrelevant because he asked Ukraine for political blackmail on a potential competitor for the US election of 2020. So that should be enough for impeachment.
This is something people need to learn. With the current political climate, it doesn't matter how much you hate an official you can't impeach them until they do something actually illegal.
Well if Russia is true then he has. And currently it isn't looking exactly great for him.
Russian collusion. We'll have to wait for the investigation to end. Also obstruction of justice.
and he's done just that something illegal (trump)
michael chinn No, he has not. He hasn't done anything unconstitutional and the left has been revoked multiple times from their attempts of impeachments on that. Stop whining to the Supreme Court
1) Investigations take time
2) How is it a tool for the democrats? Robert Mueller is actually a registered republican. That shouldn't matter, as this investigation isn't political, but that certainly disproves the idea that he is the democrats' tool. Not to mention he wasn't appointed by democrats, he was appointed by the Justice Department in a republican administration. So I really don't see your point.

I wouldn't even count on that...they're too busy trying to cover up scandals with prostitutes
Future politicians
The 無罪 (muzai) bit killed me, especially with the classic Japanese flag as background.
Normally, Japan is notorious for its extremely high conviction rates, so the sight of a "not guilty" verdict in a trial is big news. So I find it odd that they would use _Japan_ as inspiration for that moment.
Bonus points for me, as an Ace Attorney fan.
One of the best animations and sound effect... :))) Good work TedEd!

The Algorithm brought us together one year ago. And now, we have come home again.
Excellent explanation. Thanks!
Good learning video for my 9th grader, thanks for sharing this video.
“Individual Members of the House can introduce impeachment resolutions like
ordinary bills, or the House could initiate proceedings by passing a resolution authorizing an inquiry.” Pelosi has neither introduced a bill nor asked for a resolution authorizing an inquiry.
I refer to the video on Checks and balances. An inquiry does not need to be authorized or voted on. Heads of committee have full authority to proceed with an impeachment inquiry with or without the approval of the Speaker of the House. This is why you're seeing an impeachment inquiry take place without a vote on the house floor. Not to mention that over the past 2 years impeachment has been brought up many times, but alternative measures were pursued to avoid it until now.
Actually, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner explained how the last two Impeachments worked. Committees do not create agendas for the House to act upon. The House creates agendas for Committees to act upon.
