God is Great and Sovereign even as Satan wreaks havoc in our lives. It is by His Grace and Mercy that we are blessed by such beautiful music to nourish us during a time of great sadness and depletion.
We sang this in church just this morning. Thank you Keith and Kristyn for keeping hymnody alive when it has largely been abandoned. Singable songs with meaty lyrics should never have gone out of fashion.

I often sing it through tears, but oh what a comfort to know that my trials , (whether they be the result of my , sins of others, or the product of living in a fallen world) can be used by a sovereign God to show me my need for Him alone. When I submit myself to Him, God is able to put together the broken pieces of my life. All glory and praise to Him.
