J.D. Vance didn't call them out as much as he could have for one simple reason: he had to play the game of politics as to not give the corporate media clips to make him look bad afterward. Debates are not really about policies as much as about appealing to the undecided voter. Of course Vance could have really clobbered them over the issues, called out Walz for many things, pushed the issues, brought up the character questions the moderators wouldn't dare ask (stolen valor), but then he would have looked mean, and the undecided voters all hate "bullies", they cry about "meanies". I think Vance walked that line perfectly. He won on both substance and on appearance.

My sister used to work at an at-risk school in MN back in 2020. I can attest the teachers were treated horribly by the administrators and Union. My sister was paid well under minimum wage because despite being part of the public schools they were a non-profit.
If you treat the teachers badly no way the students are going to be alright.
That and one of my sister’s former students was murdered last month and that kids entire family has been targeted so…yeah they have a mild issue with that. Minnesota kind of sucks.

Those moderators were so obviously biased. They didn’t even try to hide it. Someone obviously spoke in their ear during the break though, because they had to backoff.

Because Vance called them out in fact checking. They were exposed for breaking their own rules

Tim Walz is a liar. Terrible. About China That was awful. JD Vance did a great job! He is a great speaker! I am glad he is a Republican. God bless the Republicans. Thank you Ben for great coverage of this! God bless you Ben!

We really want Walz to be a heartbeat away from the presidency? It’s bad enough that we might have to deal with Kamala but he is actually worse.

Vance REALLY impressed me in so many ways. He took the high ground throughout the debate. JD Vance was playing chess and Tim Walz was playing checkers. Enough said.

Reminded me of the contrast between Kennedy/Nixon during their debate. Walz looked nervous and pleading, the note taking was completely out of place and Vance looked cool and in charge.

i think it was just an attempt to look officious and handle his stress ... behavior experts have a name for it, its about releasing tension and yet look professional. Eager to see what they have to say about this exchange. To me Vance appeared very sure footed and solid and directed it where he wanted to go, but they really tried to box him in and make Trump look really bad and all the Tim quotes about Trump were sleazy and deliberately disparaging!
