Tint: 3M Ceramic IR in 35% and 50%
See how a light interior affects light transmission and the overall look of a car with window tint. This has 3M Ceramic IR tint all around - 35% on sides and rear windows; 50% on the windshield; no tint applied to the sunroof. My priority was to find a tint % and hue that complements the color and gives the car a nice, clean look. Please forgive the quick/low production quality (e.g., finger over the lens; unrehearsed commentary :/) - I had a very small time window to shoot and post the video.
If you are concerned that 50% on the windshield may be too dark, try 70%.

Super helpful video, I have a similar interior as well and didn’t want to go blacked out for visibility. I literally just dropped off my car to get tinted at 35% and was having second thoughts on how dark I should go. Thanks again!
You have a beautiful car there!! I just bought a new car last week. It has an all black interior. I didn't want the car to feel real dark inside, so I also went 35 % all around, no tint on windshield. It's perfect. Looks nice with the red outside paint, and very nice from the inside. My main reason for tint is I intend to keep this car a long time, if not indefinitely, and since I live in sunny southern California. I didn't want UV rays attacking the interior. This tint product blocks 99% of them. Thanks for sharing.
Subtle and Classy. Thanks for not doing 5% limo tint all around. I recently got ceramic tint done also and I’m happy with how much cooler my car is.
I just got 45% done all around on my coupe and I love it - classy and understated but still relaxing and cozy ☺️
How much did you pay for this? nobody talks about prices.

Beautiful! I’m purchasing a similarly colored car (Carpathian grey Jaguar with a light oyster interior). My state only allows 43% on front side windows and no tinting on the windshield. 🤦♀️ I think I’ll go for 45 front windows and 35 rear. This looks so elegant! Wish I could legally get this exact job!
Nice! ..I'm a big fan of Jaguar and love that color. What you describe is true for pretty much every state - and yet people tint well past what I've done. It may be illegal but the visibility is still very good and it's not enough to get you pulled over. If you want to go 35 all around and 50 windshield, you should - I think it’s very unlikely you will have any issues. Good luck with whatever you do - it'll look great against that color/setup.

Prefer carbon over ceramic for looks. In the sunny part you couldn't really even tell it was tinted at all.

so on the 3M tint, you can put the window down within two hours of installation===note like the 2-3 days before one is to put the window down ?

The car looks great! You're a braver man than me, going with 55% on the windshield. How's the visibility at night? Do you notice any dimming in the light thrown by your own healights?
Thank you. The night visibility is very good - I definitely don't notice any dimming of the light thrown by my headlights (and both of my cars have 50% on the windshield). If it's a concern, you could go with 70% on the windshield - that would be closer to having no tint but would block UV and some light into the cabin. Good luck!
@@JBM07XKR - Stock laminated windshields already block essentially all UVB and ~98% of UVA. Tinting the windshield (with UV film) would bring that up to over 99% though, which is something.

@@JBM07XKR - I'm currently researching car tinting purely because I want the UV protection, so a bit of a different angle there from the usual lol. Just can't figure out what level of tint I want now... probably about 40% if available.
50 is lighter in ceramic I guess, than in regular timt6

Don't have a Mercedes but just got 3m 25% ceramic ir on all windows except windshield debating if i should do 70% or 50%. 07 Toyota Avalon silver with medium grey interior.
Nice. I would recommend 50% on the windshield. That should give your car a more consistent all around look than a 70% / 25% might and yet still give you great nighttime and daytime visibility through the windshield. Good luck.

@@arthurmumford3634 No, I didn't - but it’s because it already has (factory?) tint that looks to be around 20%.
Ceramic is a waste of money the factory Mercedes Benz tint allready blocks the sun pretty good .. on the higher models .. I would just go with the regular

No, not at all. The visibility is great; very little impact as far as I can tell. If you're concerned about it, 70% is a good option. Good luck!

You should have done 35% on the windshield.
I was seriously on the fence between 35 and 50 for the windshield and finally decided i didn’t want the risk/liability of reduced vision at night given that my night vision already isn’t great. For those thinking about 35 all around, including the windshield, it’s a clean look but you’ll want to watch some videos on night visibility at that tint to make sure you’re good with it. And for those wondering if a car ‘looks off’ having a 15% lighter tint on the windshield, it absolutely doesn’t. Both setups (35/50 and 35 all around) look great, well balanced and well matched.

That's why you get 35% MIRROR TINT....you don't put black tint on the windshield....You do a 35 mirror tint which doesn't affect visibility at all. The lower the percentage the more reflective the tint will be from the outside....I have 25% mirror tint on my car and it looks clear from the outside but you just can see me at all. From the inside, the visibility is like 60%......Mirror Tint.
How much did you pay for that Job, cause I have no idea about the cost of this type of film
$550. There was no itemization of the price between film and labor, only that the windows all around were $369 and the windshield was $180. Prices can vary by market and installer.
That’s too light Should’ve went with 15% that would of been perfect And just waste your money with that light window tint
