Gary, I think you have shocked a lot of the students with your candor. I have seen pretty much all of your talks, and this one especially hits the mark with this audience.
I have been following Gary for about a year and a half and have watched almost everything he has put out. Its hard to keep up. But I agree it hit me. The only thing that holds me back is the one thinning he said my parents and family is too old school and it would crush them. So starting a business in school as a Junior tough but I'm going to make it work. Like it's insane that people don't book him because he swears. He definitely has that "Be undeniably good...that they can't ignore you" quality which is actually an understatement because he's great. I mean he is, to my knowledge, pioneering not only in advertising but in giving keynotes. He's utilizing swearing in speech, as opposed to when he writes posts/texts, because it's real talk and more importantly audience engagement. I would make the claim that he doesn't do it because its "true" to his nature but more so its reading an audience and using it to engage the crowd of what he's actually talking about.
The whole presentation was awesome but the coolest thing for me was hearing the students rattle off the major points that they'll take with them. I wish I watched those few minutes first and I would've been totally geared up for the presentation even more.

I think my friends and family think I'm crazy - just when things start to settle I create chaos by chasing a new idea. I've always felt like that could be limiting me and have been burnt before by spreading myself too thin - but after watching your video I realise now that it's actually why I am who I am and I need to figure out a way to support my personality and execution is KEY! Funny, I remember when we were kids ... talking like 8 years old... we had a mango tree... we {my brothers and I} sold the rights to pick the mango tree to locals {lived in South Africa}. I once had an issue w/ a group of drunk USC students when they came to S.F. for a Stanford football game. The fact that this teacher had Mr. Vaynerchuk in his class totally changed my impression of USC. I now have a positive impression of the university.

I love the talk about speed. IMO, not having done it yet, speed is a byproduct of nailing both product and distribution. You're not going to be able to move fast if you don't have a product people love. And you're not going to be able to get it in their hands if you don't have the right distribution. Once you nail that, double down and move fast. Amazing product + killer distribution = speed....
