2004 BMW 325ci Car cranks, no start. Possible solution to start the car if the EML light is on.

If your having a hard time starting your BMW (engine cranks, but doesn't start) and have the EML light on try these steps. This works on my 2004 325ci 2 door convertible that is throwing a 1634 scanner code.
Step 1: Clear code(s)
* If you cant get your OBD scanner to link up and the traction light is flashing on your dash with a series of clicking from the relays behind your glove box you may have to keep the key on until the flashing and clicking stops before your scanner will link up.
Step 2: Perform throttle position reset by doing the following:
Press gas pedal to the floor and keep it pressed down.
Put the key in the ignition and turn to 2nd postion (dont start).
Wait 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds turn the key off, remove key and release gas pedal.
Wait 30 seconnds.
Step 3: Start car
If unsuccessful, try erasing any codes while the key is in the "on " postion during the 30 second throttle position reset phase.
I have replaced the Battery, Throttle Body and Gas pedal but still get the dreaded 1634 code and EML light.
Stay tuned on this journey as I replace the Tps sensor near the oil filter
as well as have the DME checked.
