I miss them
0:44 is amazing
Whoa, I haven't heard this song before... I thought I've heard all of CHON's songs. But it's really great being able to hear this for the first time. As always, their music leaves a bit teary eyed and in awe.
Hive Atlas dude every time I hear a new one of there songs my eyes water a little too lol. You're not the only one.
their old stuff is wayyy better than their newer stuff!!! so much more raw and not all soft and over-produced how they are now. they have a whole EP of these songs.. Temporarily Destabilized = BEST CHON SONG EVER!!!!
@Melchor Herrera mario and erick is apparently into super chill stuff nowadays
I love how the name fits with the ascending and descending arpeggios. Mountains of creation, a sick metal song.
And I discovered this song seven years later... What the heck 😢😢
10 for me :(
But I guess it's good that I discovered this 10 years later, because I wouldn't enjoy this if I was 7
How bout 12?
chon wipes their ass with the song in the ad
saw these guys live 2 days ago, the frontman is fucking funny live
before the song : alright guys this next song is sick
after the song: that song was sick, alright this next one is pretty sick too
dude dude dude! this has to be the best riff ever created, i could listen to it all day long, it gives me strength lol
I like how their songs are short and sweet. Most instrumental music is like 8+ minutes long. And even though Explosions in the Sky is the best music I have ever heard in my entire life, it seems to go on forever and ever and ever.
i love how you hear a bit of waterslide in the beginning
1:19 gets me so tingly 🤣🤩
same here! masterclass shreds!
Sad this isnt on spotify 😔
I found mp3s for the whole demo album!
If you want the link, I can try to find it
@@PlopDeggy absolutely!!
That's what I'm saying
@@PlopDeggyhave you found it
1:40 is so good
So full of raw energy
Aww sweet! I'm up for it
So sorry for the math rock listeners that don't know this song
I just want to live inside of this song! 8'O
who needs drugs when you have chon?
Ally or even better....... chon on drugs :o
Amen
Chon used that in Mountains of Creation! Sick!
That riff at 1:18 is awesome. It sounds totally.... "expansive"...
Nice one.
oh nah this is crazy good
What a banger
this band is the funkadelik soul keeper
Doesn't have to mean jazz "melodies" per se, but if you listen to the more technical djent bands you'll definitely see a lot of jazz influence, especially in terms of chords.
😍😍💞
5 people can't hear
8 now wtf
10 bots. Well...it's not their fault. They can't feel.
Coming into the comment section, I knew everyone would be fighting over if it's djent...
Honestly where can we find better/more pretentious comments on youtube? This and maybe the comments for Godspeed you black emperor.
@@Aerotidesbro😂
Some crazy shits going on 🤯🤯😳
hei very nice band. really help them to record their album. btw, what is this? progressive/djent ?
7 years...
This is closer to progressive metal
Later stuff from theirs is math rock
Although I do appreciate their unique sound
Id like to be an outro riff for Veil of Maya - Codex
I was never subscribed to you in the first place soooo
with riff, invention universe
Dang man i was just sharing my opinion with the other guy that said it.
can you guys get on spotify or pandora real quick? but idk if there are bands to compare to you dudes
I'd love some tabs for this song PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
This song isn't from either of their ep's right?
Sucheth Ramprasad Nope, it's from their 2008 demo.
Animals as Leaders has a ton of djent influences in their music and if you think otherwise you're wrong.
Anyone know what amps used to record this?
AaronVernonFOP Orange amps probably, I know that's what they use most of the time
No Amps at this point
Vox AC30 . Now they use matchless tho
Me too c: dude, we share something in common! We should date bro!
If I could choose to be a riff, I would be 0:45
FUCKING DJENT! PURR PURR THALL SLIDE DJENT DJENT!
I accidentally had the speed on x2. I was already spasming on the floor but when 1:18 started, I just fucking died, just like toad.😂😂😐🥳😱🤒🤭🥴🤕🤬🥳😇🥴🤫🥴😠☻🤭🤪😇🤓🥵🥺🥴🤭
Mine would be 1:18-1:39.
Is English not your first language or did you just not read what you wrote at at all? Also, give the dude a break, some of AAL's songs have some pretty Djenty elements. To be fair though, Chon is not djent at all, it is the most beautiful progressive guitar metal I have heard.
this is hippie metal and i love it. there... arguments solved, now stfu and listen
You were hating on a particular genre for absolutely no reason. I mentioned an amazing band that happens to fall in that genre of music to help you realize that hating on an entire sub-genre of music is silly.
The intricacy is not what makes Animals as Leaders "djent," but they are an intricate band of that sub-genre. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that by calling an entire genre of music "idiotic," you're limiting yourself from discovering something that you may find to be amazing.
If i could choose to be a riff, i would be 1:18.
I would be 1:19 XD
THey're going to redo this song on their new album and its going to be fucking sick
I cant wait!
i cant wait anymore!
although that would be pretty cool and awesome, I dont see the song on the album tracklist. pls dont spread misinformation.
even if you dont see it, it could be named something different
Wouldn't that have been awesome
Djent is simply jazz influenced metal, and last time i checked jazz was one of the hardest things to play in music...
Perhaps you should choose an original comment instead.
And that's why I disagree with people who like to define "djent" as a genre. "Djent" is the chuggah, rhythm and tone. What you're referring to is already included in the term "progressive metal". No offense to you, but this other guy missed the point of "djent".
DJENT is not a genre, it's a fucking adjective. Play a power chord in a dropped tuning, and finger the 4th string two frets up from the root. Add a palm mute and it literally sounds like "djent" It's an onomatopoeia and a guitar technique, not a genre. I wouldn't listen to anything that's just djenting on a guitar, it would be boring.
Chon, AAL, Scale the Summit and etc are all instrumental progressive metal. The end.
Surely it's an adverb if you say "djenting on a guitar"
your use would make it a verb not an adverb
It's progressive math rock
Dylan Francesconi it isn't djent....
But tons of bands about 7-8 years ago had that djent (Volumes/Within the Ruins/For the Fallen Dreams) style of playing so it kinda was its own genre within the genre of metal. Djent definetely is an onomatopoeia, but its also a genre
I totally agree with you entirely. This is real progressive, not the whole djent shit that's being overdone now. AAL is great Periphery is great but let's face it they're more "djent" than progressive, none of their riffs are even close to as natural sounding and feeling as bands like this. This is like passionate progressive. No djent element whatsoever for once.
Djent is indeed a shit genre, CHON are fucking epic! Rock on :P
Perhaps your comment holds little weight and you're just wanting to get some attention.
poopsicle
No, that's completely wrong dude. "Djent" does not refer to any jazz melodies but at most to heavily syncopated and partially polyrhythmic riffs with a special tone.If that makes a genre for you, so be it. But jazz? No, get your facts straight.
Jazz influenced metal? You have no idea what you're talking about, do you? Does Periphery sound like it has any Jazz to you?
How is this progressive, wheres the actual progression. Its more math 'core' than anything.
Who cares? I love it
@@sewer300 Exactly! It's just music, and in my opinion, it sounds incredible!
@@cortewing4029 my opinion as well! I wish they still made music like this 🙁
@@sewer300 yeah, it'd be cool if they did some throwback songs or something! Their earlier songs were so full of energy, not saying that their new songs don't but there's just something about their old songs that I love.
I know there's alot of talent here but I just don't like how a lot of their songs sound the same. The idea of "shredding" just pisses me off and takes the artistic expression out of music. Just my opinion not trying to troll
A reply 6 years later
They were 11-18 at that time
