@@Gallzatron if by poppy you mean less chugginess distorted riffs yes, if by poppy you mean in any way watered down in the sound I disagree entirely. It’s different just not worse I personally prefer this stuff way more.
Everyone always seems divided on their new stuff and their older heavier stuff. Am I the only one who enjoys both their heavier songs, and their newer more chill songs.
I remember when I heard this for first time. 2008. a friend in San Diego give me mix CD of CHON demo. I drive from San Diego to LA. Pop in CD. Hear music. I start freaking out, screaming. I've never heard anything like it. Almost got into car accident on the 5 freeway because I was just screaming and astrally projecting while listening to this shit.
Love this story, can totally imagine that. I can also remember the first time I heard CHON. Lights went off in my head, truly there is some crazy magic in what they're channeling. I wonder if they have had any spiritual experiences
this song, EP, artwork always evokes a certain emotion in me and i cant explain it but its like nastaglia with feeling the future at the same time and just remembering the first time i heard this song, im baked
It blows my mind they wrote this when they were 16 years old. Also, wasn't their drummer 14? I'm pretty sure that I freakin' STARTED playing drums when I was 14.
Matt Top Mario played and recorded the drums for this EP which is their demo. his brother (the current drummer) just started learning around this time.
When I saw them at the Triple Rock in 2016 they played this as the encore and I had never heard it before. Shit blew my mind (I was a very casual fan at the time and had only heard a couple songs off Grow).
I know that you said that new born sun is good, but the 2 points mean that it's less good than this one. I don't really agree, in this one they're showing more skills than they're showing in their last ep. But for me new born sun is more "logical". I mean, the melodies are really well found. This one is more like "melody" "skill part" "skill part" "skill part" while new born sun is "melody" "melody" "skill part" "wowhowdahelldidyoufindthat" "melody" But it's just my opinion. i'm not high
1:40 huge mega man vibes i swear ive heard that on the mega man x sound track then i went back and listened and could not find. but i still get the vibes :D
i gotta agree with u, their demo songs and the ep newborn sun are masterpieces thats what the true chon sounds like but now they sound too generic to me.
ProgressiveVirtuoso exactly if you are new to chon and heard them play the breakdown at 1:03 you would’ve never guessed that was actually them from how different they are now. Maybe they’ll go back to their roots in a new album
@@IkenFister Its not so much as they have to, but they want to. They're laidback dudes who want to write something beautiful and unique as opposed to some tech deth in major. Not to say that this shit doesnt rip, because it does. Band just evolve, and they pray that the fans evolve with them
I’ve seen them 5 times since 2015 and they’ve played this song all but 1 of those times. Glad to see a band that plays their early stuff and doesn’t disregard it.
My uncle is/was the studio drummer that did all the percussion that you hear animal play. True shit. Anyway, this is awesome, I dig that there aren't vocals but it would be nice
Kinda dumb to say other bands are better, as it's completely subjective. These guys are crazy good guitarists and are stylistically different. I happen to like them more than AAL but I think Tosin Abasi is more technically proficient.
Use offliberty . com! I know you said you don't wanna use a youtube to mp3 converter, but trust me, you get great quality from offliberty! I use it everyday! lol
Well thats ur opinion but being a guitarist myself Fall of Troy doesnt suck when it comes to their guitar work but I will say I dont care for the vocals at all.
I wish chon still makes music as heavy as this. The new stuff is good but this is my favorite.
For me it's the reverse, I don't really like their heavy stuff and really really love their new "lighter" stuff, more melodical
@@Bluesky35102 more melodical? No. More poppy? Yes.

Why does songsterr have this in the beginner section...
lmao wot.
i know a 4 yr old comment.
but thats freaking absurd.
@@Jay_Sidaris the track difficulty on songsterr is one of the highest rated ive seen in a while

Same here bro haha
Their guitar work is just brilliant.. How do they come up with this shit, so creative lol.
I could never..
Influences... The Fall Of Troy.
Maybe, I love Chon and the Fall of Troy but both are Very different but similar. Chon is much more bubbly
Play guitar :3
why is the dopest fire mage of all time posting on a chon video lmao, hell yeah man
Smoke more weed and play more meele and you'll write like this. Trust, ask Wildlands

I'm scared of how good this is
They played this live a few days ago at the silver spring show
I fell in love instantly!

The sweep solo at the end would be the greatest thing ever in the climax of a racing game
Haven't listened to this older Chon since the MySpace days
amazing. Kinda reminds me of Scale the Summit. I like this very much, good work.
Karma Houdini the lick at 1:40 is super STS-esk
fall of chon
Miss the boys😢
fucking 11 year old drummer. i fucking love this band holy shit
The only thing that sucks about this is that it's only two minutes long :(
Still listening in 2023 ❤

Heavily disagree, many artist continue to make this djent sound to a lesser degree than this, but no one has done what new Chon songs sound like
It took me no more than a second to like and favorite. This is awesome. :D
OMG i didnt know this existed. Hell yeah I need to hear the whole album or EP
They played this song live last night
appleipodtouch2g good to know they ae still playing their old songs still insteadof just not ever using them again haha

And to think. Nathan was like 10 back then and only played drums for about a year and he still killed these tracks.
Is this demo album or the individual tracks available for sale anywhere? Or at least for download in digital format?
If you all like this, check out the song "I Like It Though" by Hail The Sun. It's pretty much Chon with vocals.
amazing....
This is pretty awesome.
Can't seem to find this song on Spotify for some reason? 😂
I started listening to newborn sun first... but after finding this I think I'm gonna stick to this. Shit goes hard.

THIS IS MEH FAVYRITE SONG!!!!! xD
damn good mate
I'll gladly support a full EP of this
would there be any place for vocals????
I will never forget my introduction to them. How they completely stole the show when they opened for The Dear Hunter

But don't convert audio. It makes the music sound like ass.
lol the breakdown they threw in this song is hilarious
Good, but there is so much better like Animals As Leaders and Pomegranate Tiger for exemple!
I guess my question is if they wrote this so young. Its very impressive they understood the music theory to write stuff like this
Sorry didn't know.
If you only saw my mum lol.
lolwut?
Please don't spread that crap, that decreases audio quality.
Satan plays the bass.
Write something better. Links or it didn't happen.
electric drums : (
