ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

This scene more than any other, shows just how far Eleanor has come from the way she used to be. I'm so proud of her but also, my heart is breaking apart.
Right, she came so far to call a person in a difficult situation ''cuckoo bananas'' which is derisive and insulting.
"Every time you see me getting a stomach ache, Imagine I'm thinking of you"
"So, all the time?"
"Exactly"
😭😭😭😭
Chidi how could you already ruin that for Eleanor?!?!?
THAT WAS I WAS THINKING ABOUT TOO WHEN HE SAID HE HAD A STOMACH ACHE!
Poor Eleanor, honestly. I mean, this scene broke my heart. Imagine what it would have felt like for her.
Imagine if this whole time Eleanor has been in a test to see if she could improve so she can get into the good place.
That's my theory Michael is actually the Archangel Michael and this is for the test to get her to become from a selfish person to an unselfish person.
Well the judge already told her she passed the test.
They wouldn’t do that, it’s too close to “it was all a Dream”
If that were true... Why would Michael wipe out her memory all the time?
I thinks that's what's happening. This test for the subjects is really the test for Eleanor, Chidi, Jason and Tahani. Jason has to control his impulses in regards to Janet, Tahani has not care about other people's judgement and Chidi either passed the test by making a decision and sticking with it (having his memory wiped) or having to choose between Eleanor and Simone. For Eleanor, it's most likely putting the needs of others before herself which is pretty much what she just did in this scene.
why highlight this scene wasn't stomping on our hearts for the second time in one episode enough
Is this the bad place?
1:54 I love how Chidi is smiling at Eleanor, almost like he maybe still feels something for her but is unaware of it because of having his memories erased.
She is a legit snack, after all. 👀
@@Simon-xl1yz like trail mix or something more fruity, like fruit? Perhaps some cold yogurt on a hot summers day.
(Bonk)
He was also very unaware of the book flying towards him at that very moment 😂
@@RealRomplayer That was hilarious.
When he’s summoning a book to him, he pretends to have a Thor pose 🤣🤣
Well he had the muscle for it! And the Mental Breakdown!
which makes the book clocking him in the head at the end, all the funnier. 😁
This is a Michael Schur show, and the dude loves happy endings. Read happy, not bittersweet. That's what's keeping me optimistic for Eleanor.
I think Eleanor's happy ending is realizing Chidi isn't the only person she can fall in love with. Love comes and goes, and it's more empowering to know that you can find new love even after heartbreak.
@@SpiffierShindigs Yeah I thought about that. And while that would be a good ending, it would still be bittersweet. Especially with Eleanor being the only one to remember how good they can be together. I don't know if that offers proper closure to all the parties involved.
this aged well
@@etherealsalad2698 Pretty sure the finale was the definition of "bittersweet".
the ending was bittersweet tho, and although its comedy its much more deep than his other shows...
All I can say is: Jeremy Bearimy
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?????
the dot on the I broke me
That dot over the ' i ' broke me
This scene hurts so much. Both William and Kristen are amazing actors :')
Season 1 Chidi : you don't even know my name
Now: you know everything about me..........
😭😭😭😭😭
AhHhHhHh😭😭😭
Jesus now I feel like I have a stomachache
.........book
Crazy how on the first episode she was called out for not knowing a thing about him. Now she knows literally everything there is to know about him and she still ISNT an all knowing demon. Which let’s face it. That’s probably how the shows going to end. She is gonna be given Michael powers and be in charge of many neighborhoods
I think (assuming the experiment works etc etc) that she decides to stay in the Improving Place and spends her afterlife helping others.
@@telectronix1368 well yeah. that's what I was referring to. except she will get dempn powers. when I said neighborhoods. I was referring to this. remember we don't really know how the true system of the good place works.
My baby girl Grew Up!
@@ethanharmer5151 No, she doesn't need demon powers.
T Electronix Lol did I say she “needed” them. No. But it makes sense that she would be rewarded with some kind of power. Especially if she becomes in charge of these neighborhoods. Now whether she accepts those powers or not is another thing entirely. But if all things go well. And if she is given job to take care of humans in the after life. It doesn’t make any sense that she wouldn’t have any powers
this scene hurts so much.
i know what it’s like being hit by a book like that.
Kristen Bell is such an amazing actress, you can see with the subtle eye movements and the way she smiles, that Eleanor's getting hurt, but she's trying to hide it
eleanor has such a great character development
now I'm just imagining Janet in Chidi's apartment figuring out the exact measurements to discus throw a book to Chidi
I knew it, chidi is going to fall for siomone, and Eleanor is going to show the biggest act of unselfishness
0:27 - That quick look down is one of the only breaks she allows herself in this entire conversation. ;-;
jokes on you, I was planning on spending the next 20 minutes sobbing anyway
“I do indeed”
-Eleanor-
it broke my heart🥺
Highlight? I think you meant *Heartbreak*
I was sad the other day and I thought, ‘hey I haven’t watched the latest good place episode! It’s sure to cheer me up’ oh how wrong I was.
I love that pause at 0:32
She still has to steel herself to say the words. 😦
Please, stop, this hurts! 😭
the book hurt way more
“I do indeed” 😭😭
That "I know" broke my heart 🤧
OMG! Eleanor smiles when Chidi says he has a stomach ache because before his memories got wiped he told her that every time he has a stomachache Eleanor should imagine that he's thinking about her. They are literally the best couple on TV :') 💖
Like Chidi would say: This broke me.
I will be honest - I straight up sobbed watching this scene. Eleanor has grown, sure, sure. I get it. But watching her through herself under the bus - when she knows Chidi is her soulmate... It's just completely heartbreaking. 'I know...'
This broke my heart, obviously not as much as Eleanor’s but still.
the book broke chidi's head
Bring them back together challenge
This scene is so sad and heartbreaking but I can't help myself from laughing when Chidi gets hit by that book 😅
Chidi and Eleanor better end up together at the end of the series, or I will never trust another human being alive or dead ever again.
I wonder if the experiment is secretly bound to the idea that the main characters give something up to prove people can ultimately change for the common good: Chidi makes a decision with certainty (having his memory erased), Eleanor acts unselfishly (giving up her bond with Chidi), maybe something to do with Jason giving up Janet, and Tahani tbd?
this hurts so much....... i can't....
Plot twist!! It was always about saving eleanor soul ! And everyone was in on it!
Heartbreak
Heartbreak
Heartbreak
HEARTBREAK
*The book*
Hilarious!
What other show could blend this so seemlessly?
Wow. This broke my heart already, and now I get to watch it again. Yay. 😏
THATS FINE I DIDN'T NEED MY HEART ANYWAY I GUESS
Man this is painful to watch
this episode was literally fantastic. eleanor and michael's conversation is so profound like......... hoo
The comedic timing on this show is phenomenal!
awwww no matter how many times I watch this I am almost guaranteed to start crying.. 😥
I always considered Kristen Bell to be a competent, serviceable actor but this show has really brought out her ability to portray nuanced emotional scenes like this.
I haven’t been able to watch season 4 but I’m glad there’s highlights
This was literally so painful i cant even
This show is so forkin good!
I was so proud of Eleanor in this scene, this must've been so difficult for her. 💗
If someone/ something was gonna smack Chidi, i’m glad it was that book!
Eleanor was the one person who disliked this clip
Yeah and the other 3 dislikes are demons from the bad place
@@melaniep4099 nah that was Jason, Tahani and Michael. In support of Eleanor
The book at the ends perfect!
Top scenes of this show! This scene is my absolute favourite.
My emotions. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
This episode was so good but really bittersweet
Oh shirt I read the title and was like... oof that’s gotta hurt real bad.
Wait wth did he just get knocked out with a random giant book.
He summoned one from his bookshelf in the beginning and it just took a while to get there Lol
Heartbreaking moment and it was still funny at the end. I hope he ends up with his actual soulmate
If that book didn't come in and hurt Chidi in some way I would be really mad. Beautiful
the broke my heart 🥺
Okay wait Imma cry at work
no no no Chidi NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Can’t wait to see how this show ends !!
Ooooffff. My poor heart.
Chidi is so handsome
Ahhahahaha when book hit chidi in head it was so funny
Good show
when he said he was getting a stomach ache after he told Eleanor that he was thinking of her whenever he gets a stomach ache but doesn’t remember 🥺🥺🥺
rip english
BRB IMMA GO CRY 😭😂😅
Ngl it’s really funny when Chidi tried to summon his book from his apartment
Do yall think Eleanor has some insecurity about the fact that Simone guessed what Eleanor figured out after a month (that they were in a Simulation, technically) so much quicker?
No, because Simone's guessing is coming from a place of not believing any of that is happening. Eleanor believed it was a simulation in a sense that she understood she was in a real place, with real people beside her.
But she guessed it wrong... It's not like a "simulation" in her brain. It's just not what it's made out to be...
This scene hurt me
My heart... my broken, broken heart... y u do dis?!?!?!
I cried seriously
I would have immediately started crying after I said you were soul mates and then I would be so happy when he said he said I have a stomach ache in my head I would have been like aww I love u too
Sooo… I guess the force is present in the afterlife? Didn’t know Chidi was a Jedi, but cool! 😂😂
The book that hit chidi was summoned not by him but by every fan of the show who wanted to say "STOP TALKING! IT HURTS LIKE A MILLION NEEDLES IN THE FACE!!" :( :,(
He doesn't even react he just ragdolls I spat everywhere
After that exchange I honestly wish that I had thrown the book that hit Chidi at the end
When did this happen?
This hurt so bad I hate it
What happens if you were already married on earth? Would they still be your soulmate?
Highlight are now spoilers for those who did not watch the episode...thanks ...
The episode aired last Thursday, you could've watched it by now.
retrotastix sorry if I don’t live in the USA so I could watch it when it airs. I should be smarter huh .. 🤦♂️
Yall..... I have a stomachache :,(
*I KNOW*
Wait, who threw that book!!!??
He summon it from his library and forgot about it
You Sup I like the idea that someone in the tv crew threw the book tho
Taf Ngoma they did . Lol
😭😭
Poor Eleanor T.T
Zhuang Zhou? The dream of the Butterfly?
The book? That’s Janet going “IDIOT!!!”
Jeremy Bearmy
MAAAAA
the way I died during everyyyy episode wasn't even funny lmao
Ouch
I'm so mad at the writer but the writing is good . Why do shows always do this. In so many way this remind me of Who the boss. America wanted Angela and Tony together but they ended up as friends instead I don't know if I'm not right but I feel like this might happen to Chidi and Elainor I hope not #GoodPlacetvshow #WhoTheBosstvshow
That Must Of Given Eleanor One Helluva Stomachache
😥😥😥😥😫😫😫😫
NoOoOooOoOooOoOoo😭😭😭
My friend started this show and went “pls just let Chidi and Eleanor be friends I just want more male female friendships in shows don’t make it romantic.”
Two days later she texted me, halfway through season four, “IF THEY SEPARATE THESE TWO AGAIN IM GONNA RIOT”
I bet Thor never has these problems.
This hurts so much to watch...
Hurt Chidi more
Oh fork no!
Awh Eleanor 😕
