$90 !! geeez guy I found my speakers in the junkyard and my amp in the trash can, what do ya got for us broke guys
Your delivery and sarcasm is awesome
I changed my spark plugs to resistor plugs took care of the whine coming threw
Can't remember when last I heard an alternator whine....
Older video. Hope you still read the comments. I did car audio/video for a company 20 years ago. 09 Silverado. I have engine whine, however it goes away when I mute the headunit. I am thinking just a bad Kenwood unit. Thoughts?
Hello mike here from long island new york love the videos. I have the odyssey batteries installed for about 6 months nkw and after about 2 weeks of no start conditions in roughly 35 to 55 degree temps my truck needed to be jumped even after plugging in for about 35 40 min. Saw your video on wire degradation and thought maybe i could use an upgrade! So my truck is an 02 7.3l dually with 60k original miles very well maintained and i was wondering what are the thickest wires i can use between my batteries and my alternater and really all other connections?? p.s. will be purchasing the recommended audio battery lugs also
Sorry so long winded just wanted to be very clear..sincerely mike 02 f350
Alternator 2 ga / battery to battery and starter can be 0 // with what you stated is the starter turning fast enough, Every time some one installs odyssey batteries they all say the same thing and that is they think there starter is going to fly out of the truck I'm not standing infront of your truck which makes it difficult to diagnose but this could be a tired starter if you find that this is the issue jump to HD direct drive style not the gear reduction and use a drop of red thread lock on the bolts, Its that powerfull
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD starter seems to be same speed as before i will investigate further tomorrow ...thank you so much!!!
Wires can’t be too thick
like your intro..love it
What if your system has potential of drawing 280 amps of current. That little 150-amp filter will implode.
a dual battery splitter with a ground does the same thing But its best to find the fault of the problem A lot of small components in a stereo system are over current ed In that they where never designed for such high amps from the alternator and the ground is way out of balance causing the buzz hiss ect example had a guy bring his tahoe in huge whine and buzz had a multi amp system 8k watts I found the eq power suppy was starting to melt and removed it all problems stopped All electronics comes with a spec sheet and those specs all need to be close to each other
Great video & love ur humor!🇺🇸🤓
If it a sound system run a wire from the rca behind the radio wrap it around the outer shell of the rca and wrap around a screw from the radio and it will gound it and stop the nosie
Works in certain conditions This is another option
That didn’t work for me it stop my hpf from playing
If I buy a new alternator would the noise go away?
Looks like a capacitor filter unless you can tell me it is not. Nice that it is on the source but it can be added as needed.
omg its over 260 bucks that's a expensive fix `
Years back it was only 60 bucks its gotten insane with everything now
Yes it’s about 300 with tax and shipping to me in California it sucks
Hey brother. I just switched from AGM to a 48 ah headway lithium bank. Had zero alternator whine before. I have 4 amplifiers and a DSP running off of the lithium bank. Had all power and grounds from amps to bank at first but had bad whine/noise. Moved amplifier grounds to seatbelt bolt locations and some of the noise went away but not all. I have extra grounds from alternator bracket to chassis. I tried running a wire from alternator straight to lithium bank negative hoping that would cure it but nope. I don't know what else to do. I have a 320 amp alternator so can't use the Newmar 150 unfortunately.
Maybe two Newmar 150's in parallel? Current will take path of least resistance. I'm guessing this would be feasible. Maybe reach out to Newmar?
I’m in the same boat, have you figured anything out?
Will that work on a 89 chevy truck...Its got that head, smp and equalizer seperate...truly a pos stereo
If you mean the factory radio no it will not delco has that built in so if you have whine in the factory gm system you need to open each unit and find the burned component or throw it all in the garbage and put something new in
Hey bro. I have horrible alternator whine but I hardly have any room in my 2002 Acura engine bay. I know you're supposed to mount the filter as close to alternator as possible. But I really only have room to mount filter 28 inches away from alternator. Will it still help me? Thank you
no we fiddled with lenght and distance works best when right by alternator We just got done with a bmw x5 and used 2 150's amzn.to/3uOO1uv at the amps triple shielded rca's www.crutchfield.com/p_3510325/Roswell-5-meter-RCA-patch-cables.html and this at the radio Newmar PC-10 Power Conditioner / Noise Filter 10 Amp stopped the issue
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD thank you for the response. I wish I could send you a picture of how I installed it. I got it just as close as possible. 7 inches away was best I could do. I still have some alternator whine. It probably reduced it 50 percent. What can I do next? Thank you
Also I ran the ground from the noise filter to the chassis. Do you think it would help more if I grounded it to the alternator bracket/body? Thank you for your help
@@850CANE did you get rid of it? I would ground it to the frame
@@RealPivotTV yeah it worked like magic! Problem now is I have a high output alternator and they don't make a filter over 150 amps. So I'm back to whining and it's driving me nuts
So I used to have a whine but it went away, but now my car is not charging. Is that a bad alternator or connection.
sounds like your tire is flat
@@Creepercreep10 😂
Will that stop the wine and noise in my cb radio that I have in my wife's 2021 Honda pilot?
yes but try moving the power to a relay first and ground both the relay and cb ground direct to the battery. good relay is 5 bucks
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD I have the power run with number 4 wire both hot and ground directly to the battery.
@@buckrowe6752 the newmar pc 10 or 25 installed close to the inlet of the cb will do the trick
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD thanks.ill try that. The radio is good because it worked fine in my pickup and its wired the same way.
Is the radio chassis ground connected properly?
👍
220$ the lowest I seen
Things only good for 150 amps. I have a 370a alt. Lol. What am I supposed to parallel 3 of them together 🤦
read the directions at the end of video it gives 2 other units you can consider and where they go
Why can't Newmar make a 320-400 amp version?
@@eversoul43 exactly. I used the 150 and it worked great but now have a 320 amp alternator. Have you found anything to help?
Same here, I have a 325amp alternator as well
Installed a new in-tank fuel pump on a 2002 Chevy Tahoe and now I have noise in my CB Radio as long as the fuel pump is running - any solution to the problem?
A "whining"/"buzzing" noise in the speakers of the entertainment radio or two-way radio on vehicles with an in-tank electric fuel pump may be caused by electrical noise from the fuel pump. Install an electronic noise Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) Filter (F1PZ-18B925-A) on the fuel pump inside the fuel tank
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSDI believe I might be having a similar issue but it’s hard to say. With my jl class ab amp for my inside speakers of the car I have no detectable whine. But the problem comes when I’m trying to replace that jl amp for a modern unit which is much more compact and space saving then that’s when I run into whinning issues. I’ve tried about 5 differnt new class d amplifiers and each of them behaves differently. Some are silent when the car is off but then soon as you start the engine the whining begins.
HOOK UP THE SHOWN UNIT RIGHT AT THE AMP THEN@@onesikm3
What causes the whine any way? It's not as simple as just cleaning contacts?
Alternator whine is caused by a difference in electrical potential (voltage) between two points. It's usually caused by a ground connection that is less than ideal. The main culprits are the amp, the head unit and any intermediate components such as crossovers and equalizers.
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD I only have an amp that uses 3.5mm connected to the firewall. Anything that has a motor gets picked up through it.
@@mknight6026 Never seen a car amp that uses a 3.5 mm in out send me model numbers of all
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD it has 3.5 in. 3.5 out, bluetooth and speaker out. It's only a small 100w/ch 2ch amp, 36v max input that I'm using at 12v so I'm roughly getting 13watts RMS. Zk-1002 I think is the model number
@@mknight6026 I would suggest if you are using bluetooth from device to zk1002 the 12 volt input needs a line conditioner like newmar pc 10 If you are using the 3.5 from device to zk1002 use inline BESIGN Ground Loop Noise Isolator for Car Audio/Home Stereo System with 3.5mm Audio Cable. These types of like zk1002 just are designed to operate at such a wide voltage width getting a matching 12 + to 12 - is impossible causing the issue or the device to Zk1002 device has no ground in common with the Zk1002 which always will cause the issue
Where do I buy this unit?
I put a link in the description again also We have found some amps need one at there lead at the amp as well
I've been chasing this atrocious whine for months.
I tried inline noise filter Axxess AX-ANR1000 at power wire and ignition wire going to the headunit. Nothing seems to work. I've tried all possible ground in the car, tried grounding directly on the battery, tried different amp, different rcas, different HU, anything you can think off...any hope this device will help?
Explain the entire system start from the battery very thing in between location what products there locations where are the wires ran and year and model of car Yes I get BMW but what
good I just got done with a kids bmw 5 that he installed a pioneer stage 4 in I installed the 150 at alternator reran triple shield marine rca 's and 1 pc25 at the amp the processors and other items all good So thats what it took for this bmw
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD could you please share links of the products you used?
I'm extremely eager to get this working properly and will really appreciate you sharing links to what exactly you purchases. There's so many products out there, especially RCA cables...
