    The sock thing was brilliant - who remembers the actual iPod Socks Apple brought out in 2004? Weren't they like £50 os something for the set? The £20 cleaning cloth was merely a twinkle.

    I've had the basic iPhone 15 for just over a week now. I noticed that it gets warm with fast charging, but I haven't seen it get hot with use. I have the fine woven case--no problems with scratching (watch me scratch it within minutes of writing this). I read Apple's description before I ordered it, so I expect it might look distressed but remain functional over time. I like it. My suspicion with the overheating is that some iPhones don’t install updates correctly. My iPhone 12 Pro, for the past few months, has had insane battery drain, like dead by 11am in battery saver mode with virtually no use. It felt like it could legit burst into flames while charging. Then I finally gave in and updated to iOS 17 and my battery and heat issues are gone.

      1. almost all phones are „overheating“ as they will hit 100c core temp and throttle. (Some android phones don’t to that with active cooling)
      2. a hot exterior is more a sign of good thermal transfer and therefore better cooling.

    • @Gurenn83
      @Gurenn83 8 месяцев назад +2

      Not the base 15 and 15 Plus. Only the Pro and Pro Max. Likely coz of the power of the A17 Pro with no proper thermal cooling.

      @Noine14159145 8 месяцев назад

      @@Gurenn83 the base phones are also overheating. They throttle after a while meaning they reached TJmax.
      The pro phones are not worse at cooling a chip and then feeling hotter to the touch indicates better cooling capabilities of the outer shell.

    My phone doesn’t get hot with any normal use like social media, watching RUclips, etc but when I’m on a call longer than 6-8 min it gets so hot. I’m on 15 pro max :(

    Why would any one ever want a fuzzy case? Maybe on the inside to help protect but I want something I can easily clean/disinfect.

    The fact they allowed those cases to be shipped is ridiculous. Loving the 15 pro, though. A substantial upgrade coming from the 12. Zero overheating issues after setup

    I am on my fourth galaxy s series phone and often dropped my past galaxies on concrete floors and sidewalks. One of them after several drops finally got a chip, my third galaxy again dropped several times and I even purposely dropped on a concrete floor and nothing, however, one day working on my lawn I dropped and the phone hit a metal sharp corner and it shattered the glass face. After owning it for more than 2 years and dropping it on many occasions. I was already thinking of upgrading and that incident sped up the upgrade process. I galaxy note 20 I that I now own for a well over a year has been very fortunate that I have not dropped it on a hard surface yet, I have dropped it once or twice but on a wooden floor. Love my galaxy.

    I went to the Apple shop with the view to purchasing a woven case for my 15PM, they were looking scratched and not very good even on the Apple Store display,,,,I purchased a Mous leather case offering instead and very happy with it. As for the over heating I haven't had any issues but I don't really push my phone to hard.

    A lot of people are saying Instagram is causing the overheating. As a side note, I was hoping slingblade would try cracking another 15PM just to see if it was a fluke or not, but alas, no such luck.

    I think my next phone case will come from the Hanes collection. Best of all, I have an ample supply so I don't need to make any additional purchases. Now, that's an environmentally friendly approach.

    My 15 pro max doesn't over heat, it seems to work fine. Silicone case works fine. I feel like the battery isn't as good as they say it should be though.

    I have the 15 pro max and I find it runs cooler than my 10 and 12. I think some apps like instagram aren’t optimized well for iOS 17…hence why over heating are being experienced on older models also. Paying 60 for a case is foolish but more so if it sucks. Only issue i see as actually being an issue is the the back glass breaking. Nobody it going to bend a phone like that but definitely having it in your back pocket and sitting on it could have the same effect.

  • @TheSkateTyrant
    @TheSkateTyrant 8 месяцев назад +2

    I am sorry but On Zacks page Jerry Rig Everything there have been about 90% of phones including foldables that didn't break when bending so that last statement is incorrect. Phone should be durable enough to survive the bend test.

    I think you’re missing the point on the Jerryrigeverything video. He has done that test on every iPhone . For some reason the 15 back glass shatters more easily.
    There’s also videos of people drop testing the 14 and 15 and the back glass shatters more easily on the 15 than the 14.

    • @BridgetCarey

      Oh yes I know the point is that it didn’t shatter other models the same. But I was hoping people understand why it doesn’t matter to me - because I’ve shattered the glass of other phones with one small drop. To me, it’s all breakable and that’s why it’s not something I think should be a concern. But if they all start shattering easily even when inside a case - now then I’m going to say that’s a bigger deal.

    • @gngjtjt
      @gngjtjt 8 месяцев назад

      @@BridgetCarey That makes sense. I also feel like its not a HUGE issue. Most people probably put their $1000 pocket computer in a case. Also love your work! Keep up the great job!
