I was at the race on July 20. It was awesome to see Ryan Newman, Mark Martin, Geoff Bodine, Bobby LaBonte, Danny Sullivan, Al Unser Jr., Hallie Deegan, Ken Schrader, Ray Evernham and many others...
Back in early 1985, I had ordered an IROC and was watching one of the races on TV. During a break in the action, there was a segment on how the cars were built and maintained. I found out that the shop where they did the maintenance on them was a mile down the street from where I was living. I took a ride to find it, and it was kinda hard to locate. It was a non discript brick building with the only identifying thing was a small 3"×5" IROC decal on the mailbox. It just happened that they were loading up for the next race on open car carriers. I asked if I could hang around and watch, maybe take some pictures. I met Jay Signore, who ran the shop, we talked for a while, and he even offered me a job when he found out I was a mechanic in the Marine Corps when i got out.
True. Ray has said that none of those cars still exist in the Daytona body and the bodies are essentially impossible to find. Some of the cars present had formerly been Daytonas but like many iroc cars they have been rebodied.
My home town...YAY. I've been to many races at Lime Rock. Even got to ride my RD 400 around it a couple of times. Great track and video, thanks!

Awesome to see, almost wen't. Can only race these in sims these days unfortunately.
These cars sound awesome- like stock cars should.
Not the same series, but it would be cool if they displayed some of the still existing Corvette Challenge cars.
During this "exhibition" Ray must be thinking "Please don't wreck, please don't wreck.."
Thanks for the video lots of crybabies out there good job.
Thank you!
I see me at 4:13 into this video. I have the 1 on my hat.
is there a full video of this race someplace ?
They said "Every generation" of IROC racers were there but I didn't see any early 90's Daytonas there.

How in the hell did Hailie Deegan get put in one of these cars? She can't even keep a ride in her own series.
Doesn't sound like iroc cars I am used to
🤔what? I remember the 80’s 90’s and 2000’s them are the exact and actual cars . Which ones are u use too ?
The video doesn't do the sound of the cars justice. They sounded incredible in person!
Look how high off the ground these cars are. THAT is how you eliminate all this "aero push" and stuff and go back to relying on pure horsepower.
