- Filmed on 08/04/2017. An unexpected visitor has arrived into Doncaster in form of 60163 Tornado working as light engine plus support coach working 5R79 Stewards Lane T&R.S.M.D to Doncaster Roberts RD RP GB.
Its a unusal working for Tornado to be working as its not scheduled to work any rail tours until late April to The Settle and Carlisle.
Tornado came into Doncaster Yard to detach from its support coach to run round to run tender first for Doncaster GB Yard. It was out of shot for 10 - 15 minutes as it had to take on water or just awaiting clearance back to Doncaster Yard.
After a quick turn around, 60163 running spot on time for Doncaster GB Yard. Think Tornado as in use for driver training duties to learn the East Coast Mainline route but not 100% sure about it.
An brilliant surprise that makes the day the more special.

Thank you Trevor :-)
Nice video of Tornado Ricky. Cheers. Allan.
Thank you Allan, I wasn't expecting Tornado to run light engine to Doncaster, was fully aware of the 57's with the empty Pullman coaching stock to Carnforth but to see Tornado, a very nice surprise :-)
Thank you for watching the video and pleased you enjoyed it.
Thanks, Ricky
Great video
Thanks :-)
cool video ricky my best friend
Thanks very much!!!!
Tornado has got-its Chime back
Yep, Tornado at its very best on action :-)
glad its back, she was starting to sound horrible with JUST the A1 whistle
TheModster True, Tornado doesn't sound the same without it's original whistle but it was worth seeing her before it's mainline run to 100 MPH.
yes indeed, was a big achievement that was! She may be Britian's newest main line steam locomotive, but she's making history A LOT!
TheModster Yep history books in the making. Still amazed they had permission to go at such high speed. Could this be the protenctional for faster rail tours?
