- On May 16, 2024 my friend Randi and I took a little hike on the Deception Butte Trail. We only did the easy 3 mile out and back section along the creek since this was my first hike since my spinal fusion surgery that I had on April 16.

It's so good to see you out on the trail again! Did you see/hear any frogs? I did that trail a few weeks ago, and on the initial section that parallels the highway, I heard tons of frogs in chorus together. It was amazing!

Are there many bears there ?
Yes there are bears in the oakridge are.
I’ve lived in Oregon for 37 years and have never seen one or a cougar but that doesn’t mean they aren’t concentrated to a certain area more than others! Oakridge is for sure one of those places, I live about 50 miles west of there
What type of bears mainly - grizzly ?
