I’m a new grower on my first grow, grew outdoors in a greenhouse and harvested a bit early maybe a week early cause bud rot set in on one plant so I saved what I could from that plant and now drying and curing are absolutely hard as shit lol I have 3 others still blooming so I neeed to get better at this part!!!
Yeah budrot in a greenhouse is no joke. Keep those buds small by topping a few times and genetics.. lots of fans and healthy plants and early harvesters too (indica).. I'm drying and curing in my basement bathroom, cool and always 60 percent humidity not to mention a built in exhaust fan.
If you live in a dry environment, this setup will be constantly pulling that dry air over your plants, drying them incredibly fast. Running this off a powerful tent fan that exhausts your whole grow tent a couple times a minute would mean the little dry tent would be getting completely new, dry air every 5-10 seconds. This amount of air movement is like having a fan blowing directly on the plants. Ideally, you want very little exchange of air in a dry tent, only enough to regulate temp and humidity, not a constant flow of fresh air. Your current setup, with all the buds cut off the branches and hung on clothespins already sets the grower up for a very fast dry because all the stems from the plant are removed to make it all fit in the tiny space, than the wash of air will dry them in lightning fast times, ruining the smoke. You don't want your drying environment to be at 45, the ideal range is very limited, 55-60%, and the temps shouldn't get above 65 if you can help it, but you can go down to like 50 without issue. If you're going to create a drying system, then there needs to be a way to maintain humidity- that is absolutely necessary in a bud drying setup. You want a taller tent, so you can put a small fan in the top or bottom to circulate air without blowing right on the plants, and enough room to leave more plant material on the drying buds (whole plant or at least whole branches, not just colas on your chandelier). To this you NEED to have some control over the humidity, preferably with a very gentle humidification, to slowly bring the rH to 60 without going over or getting any one area more moist than the rest. The system as it is may look nice to noobs, but I don;t see how anyone could have much success with this, even if they had the drytent in a lung-room with the perfect temp/humidity, bc the constant pulling of air from the grow tent would still be a problem because of the volume of air rushing over the drying buds. If you have a lung-room at perfect conditions to dry, then idk why you would even need this, but just to show that even starting from ideal, this product will leave you worse off than you started. Start with a 2'x4'x60-80" tent, get a little clip fan to put in there, blowing against a wall for indirect air movement and a humidifier that can duct into the room and be set to turn on and off by the humidity in the tent (ac infinity?), finish it off with a 4" exhaust fan, also set to humidity(ac infinity?), so you can keep it at 55-60% rH. If you can keep it all around 60 degrees f, you'll have great results. It's gonna cost like 3-$400, but you can't cheap out on quality and peace of mind with the automation. This teeny-tiny little tent, with buds all cut off and hung individually, while piggy-backing off of your grow tent exhaust fan, seems like a recipe for disaster. After months of work and investment, you will dry your buds in a few days and all the smell and taste will be gone, leaving just a harsh smoke.
Exactly Right Bro! Sounds like you may have learned this the hard way!😂 I know I certainly did! Over dried a bit over 6OZ back in August 😂fml had the AC Pumpin!!! Right over top the buds😂😂😂 Rh stayed around 62, thought I was Good!😂 HelNah shit came out looking like it been sitting I the Savanah Desert for a month!!😂😂😂 Lesson Learned! Gotta Keep air movement to a MINIMUM !!
So why is drying without a tent bad exactly? I've legit never used one, I just hang them on a clothes line on wheels and put them in my wash room xD Frankly, it seems to me that in my climate, I'd be better served cooling down the drying room as opposed to throwing the plants in a tent. It's November and we're still hitting 80F indoors. There is no month besides maybe december/january where we actually get temperature in the 60's.
Daisy chain 2 tents. One to grow, one to dry. Does it make sense? I’d love to know if my head is up my ass with my latest plan: I am looking into 2 tents: a 2x2x4 (Sorry your tent is NOT available) and a 4x4x6. I currently have the 4x4 with exhaust fan/LED light used for growing and about to go into harvest. The plan is to use the 2x2 to dry my harvest (humidifier is currently way low at 27, and will need to put in a humidifier will be in the 2x2 tent). The 2x2 will then be vented into the 4x4 where my plants are growing. I’ll be using a 4” flexible Air Duct pipe between the 2 tents (trying to be cheap and not have to buy another exhaust fan). The thought is to control odor from the drying process and utilize the blower from the grow tent and only use 1 humidifier. Thoughts? Is this crazy enough to work? But one tent is going to be lights on (maybe 24 hours) going to attempt regeneration after I chop. And the other tent is going to be Dark (for drying) is there a way to put something in the "Flexible Air Duct Pipe" so that light does not come back into the dry tent from the grow tent? Does the dry tent have to be completely dark? Do you have a better idea? Thanks
This is exactly the solution Im working on in my room. Im trying to put three tents in one exahust line. The last tent in the line will be the dry/cure tent. Im going to experiment on ways to reduce light getting in. Good idea.
Eh...its not rocket science brah. 60*/ 60% RH for 10-14 days n the stalks snap. I use my grow tent...pull the lights, clean up n hang the plants n dehumidifiers. I keep my exhaust n inlet fans on max n my AC pumping into the tent. Also...no need to burp unless your over 65% once they go into the jar. 62% bevita packs n ur good to go

great advice and we / i will apply it to our next harvest.
thank you and we grow to know and know and grow. take care
You guys need to get some RUclipsr’s on board so us growers can see how they preform.
Highigan is an awesome page that uses these
Yeah, they did a review and seem to really like theirs!

this stuffs all for money obviously...i read your whole comment thanks for all the info dude!
Don't knock it til you've tried it! You may be right or wrong but why trash it with no experience.
2 minutes into the video had to subscribe love the honesty 🙌🏽🙌🏽

When will stock be back in? Cant seem to get my hands on one. Highigan turned me on
2 weeks
Do you have a dry tent I can use outside
I need something like this. I have been thinking of what is the best size for drying
Great video
That seems awfully dry and hot. Is this guy for real?
Charlie what is the product that you use to dry. What is the name?
How much are they
What promotion code
get in touch with Mr Growit and get a spot of his show.
every one gives different temps and rh values.
You lost me at "flushing". That's bro science my man.
Same
