The plane looks like an absolute hoot, and return of plans is icing on the cake. For those of us outside the US that is wonderful news! Thank you Flitetest!
but for those of us outside the US and only on a disability pension, $37.75 AUD is a lot of money and plus membership fee adds up to a lot of $$ to make a foam plane. It appears to me that flite test are forgetting their grass roots identity of making an affordable hobby to the masses and now targetting the richer modellers. I'd love to own a tubby B17 but when getting up to almost the same money as a plug n play complete aircraft, I can't justify the expense
The "PACKAGE INCLUDES" parts list for this B-17 does NOT show the 4 swappable motor assemblies, i.e. swappable plywood mounts and foamboard holders the mounts are glued to, as "INCLUDED". They are shown in the "FT Tubby B-17 SHORT KIT". Does that mean we have to order the SHORT KIT with the Tubby in order to place motors on it?
Those pieces are included with the speed build kit (SBK). They are listed under the "Package Includes" as "3/16" Plywood Tubby B-17 Kit" the last item on the list. The speed build kits include all of the materials to build the airframe (minus the electronics). The Short Kits and Replacement Parts are for those wishing to build from the plans.
@@SP0NZ-FT Thanks. I have searched for the B-17 plans which I would like to build from, but only kits and items for sale show up, no plans. Can you provide a link to the plans? They would be much appreciated.
@@olliedennison8650 Yes. Although the Twin Otter will be a little longer of a wait as I have a backlog of about seven (7) FT designs to work on right now.

Plans are back baby!
Awesome!!! I even already downloaded mine from the FTCA site!!!
I’m looking forward to the full B-17 model! My grandfather was a Ball Turret gunner and fly 31 missions from 1944-1945.

Way cool! Now you need a mighty mini version! More Dad body aircraft! Please
Will the plans for this plane be available on the Flite Test website?
I'd like to see a B24!!
I have 4 motors from the Hobby King C-130 and wonder if they will work for this Tubby B-17. What is the weight for the Tubby?
Hello, I live in the Canary Islands, can I sign up? How do I do it?
Was going to comment about how this would be great candidate for a Disney Planes character. Then I saw one of B-17 had eyes in the front windscreens.
Any hint on when the M/series jets are going to come to the store and if we will be getting plans for those as well or not
Plans, no. Kits on the store...stay tuned.
I was a FTCA Air Crew member, but then the plans stopped. Can I know what plans will be available if I rejoin?
We have a podcast that addresses exactly that. it’ll be released before the end of the week. Appreciate everyone’s patience and also support. :)

Serious Bob Ross vibes here. I want to watch this just to destress from current events.
I assume you will have a build video part 2
Yes. :). It’s coming along with the electronics video as well :)
I dont see plans for mini tutor??
Short answer, they are coming. More information on the FTCA and the FT plans is coming soon. Stay tuned.
@@SP0NZ-FTI’m sure this is a pointless question, but I assume the above applies to the Twin Otter too? Really want to build it but I’m UK based

@@SP0NZ-FT Fair enough :) thanks for letting me know
