I've watched FliteTest since the very beginning. For those that know, that was the Review of the Parkzone F4F Wildcat. Yes, a brand that Horizon doesn't even use anymore, and a plane itself that's been discontinued multiple times and brought back multiple times. It's really cool to see how far you guys have come in that time.
Kline Fogleman Wing steps are a blast. I just built smaller Models with this Wings and they fly so stable in heavy winds. I'm looking forward to see you updated Viggen. Really a great EDF jet. The first I had.
Finally a restoration of an old project that isn't a complete redesigned. ,just please make the plans free like the old ft viggen , i want to build one but really don't have the money to spare for a kit or the membership for free plans
To me it looks identical for the most part, just needs a KF step cutout to be glued on top of the flat wing. Also I noticed during the video that they didn’t make the exhaust tube flush with the rear of the plane. That could either be because they forgot or are working on a rear nozzle instead of the flat back plate. Finally, you don’t need landing gear with this, a underhand launch throwing from gripping the top electronics hump (like the A-4F) will suffice. I’ve never had an issue as a result of that launch. (My first Viggen had a right adverse yaw tendency which put my maiden into a fence! That wasn’t the launch fault though.)
@aerospacematt9147 yeah ,but I am kind of tired of all the plans behind a pay wall ,and this was one of the original designs remade as the original design was intended ,this makes me happy, unlike the mini corsair where they forgot the original concept of 1 sheat of foam and not too complex to build
@@Rex227c1 I get it. Yeah there was a time when FT said all their plans would always be free. But because the plans for the OG Viggen are still free, you could very easily cut out DTFB for the KF step.
I have made 14 Viggens from plans, for myself and friends. I've powered them from 40mm to 70mm EDF. The fastest had w/two 70mm EDFs. I also tried four(4) 36mm(?) EDFs but they were more toy like. All were built following the plans except for one 1mm x 5mm carbon fiber rod across the wing as David talked about in his video.
My Viggen from 3 years ago has a steerable nosewheel and the canards are active as well. I also added a carbon spar. Flies great and it's fun to taxi from the pits out to the runway.
Love the Viggen! Nice to see it being revisited/revamped. I rebuilt my original one by adding a "conventional" FT double layered wing with a spar, and doubled up the vertical stab too. Have built them that way ever since 🙂
I have been around since the beginning of Flitetest. Thank you for inspiring me, flew my first plane in 2013. Some of these early flights are documented on my channel. Would like to see different KFM types on this bird. Cheers from Germany
So happy to see this updated. Can we get the plans on the website updated to V2? The plans from the store “Download Plans” link are for the old V1.1 and not the updated V2. I’d love to scratch build this version.
Yay! The Viggen is back baby!! I was wondering why it was pulled. I’m actually in the process of building my 3rd V1 Viggen using an old 3s 64mm EDF, so the wings shouldn’t fold! Hopefully I can end up with v2 at some point.
imagine adding servos and ailerons to the canards like the actual Viggen fighter? that would add some insane maneuverability when slaved to the wing servos.
Video idea for the future An 80th Anniversary heritage flight for the Blue Angels on April 24th where you guys hand build all 9 aircraft they flew from the Hellcat to the Super Hornet The Blues are gonna be 80 in 2026
The real life Viggen has better short field performance and nose authority than the EE Lightning, but they do share a similar purpose and the Viggen did follow in the EEL's footsteps with a time to 36k feet of less than a minute.
My paternal grandfather traced our family tree using the old method of researching written records. Despite the records carnage during Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries between 1536 and 1541, he established a clear line back to Grimbaldus the Norman, who invaded England with William the Conquerer in 1066.
Is there a way to buy or make ft vigen? I have been a veiwer since last 7 years or so. I am doing UG now and i always had an attachment to rc aircrafts as i have made may of those and most take influence and help from flite test. I am doing engineering and I have to make a project for my final year. I wanted to make a rc jet with an afterburner. If there is anyone who knows where i can i find blueprints for ft vigen or other single jet engined aircrafts, please let me know. :)
Hey guys!!! I got an idea. You could do a water war, with two teams, each one with a bomber and with an AAA trying to shoot with water guns to each other. It would be grate. Thank you.
Bought the original before it left the store and never made the time to assemble it. Can you please make the new wing available separately?? That would be awesome!
Hi flite test team I can't find link to buy a speed build kit. Could you send me the link please all I keep seeing is the first one you made years ago.😁
@@FliteTest I don't know what special sauce you've put in your 70 mm EDFs, but those things scoot! And they seem like they have WAY more punch than the ones 10 years ago.
Okay, this is now begging for an FPV version. Granted, I’m more than a little biased since I fly the Viggen in DCS and love playing limbo with power lines and bridges at over 400 knots, but given that large forward fuselage and the shape of the nose, it’s very supportive of adding in FPV gear.
I have been a subscriber since the day i found your site, you and Josh Scott i believe in your basement. And now you are asking us to pay to watch your content 😢 i am somewhat disappointed.
Check out MyHeritage with your 14 day free trial today!! bit.ly/FliteTest
This makes me miss Dave. He was great for Flitetest.
There’s no more energy, all corporate

I remember those humble beginnings
Thank you, brother
This makes me very happy ❤
That is why we do it! Thank you for watching it means the world to us!
David!!!! Make more content!
Watched Flitetest since 2013. Loved seeing an old project come back.
I remember the explosive Viggen, Dave was awesome to have on the show!
FINALLY!! The Viggen is back!!
Kline Fogleman Wing steps are a blast. I just built smaller Models with this Wings and they fly so stable in heavy winds. I'm looking forward to see you updated Viggen. Really a great EDF jet. The first I had.
10 years flies by just like that! To think the technology has made that much of a difference.
Also I noticed y’all painted the shop! Love the color

Exactly the mods I did too! It takes a long roll-out without those active canards.

J'aime beaucoup la simplicité de vos constructions
When is it arriving in the shop? Can't wait!

I just picked up one of these from a friend of mine! So much fun jist high alphas everywhere!
The best "park flyer" EDF ever, bar none.

Great EDF and its hard to believe that it's Ben 10 years since I seen the original flight of this jet time just seems to go so fast 😮
Most underrated plan of all time.

I want to see more touchNgos 😂 My favorite thing to do is a touch and go.
@FliteTest CHALLENGE: make an rc plane with rubber band engines for thrust
It needs the afterburner on it with the butane and sparker 🤣
Please do publish the plans upgrade - in New Zealand, we primarily make our FT aircraft from plans only.

Nice work. Impressive.
Time for a nice jas 39 gripen model
checked my family tree and found that my 25x Grandmother was the Queen of england.
Can we revisit our A-10 adventures?? Pretty please
Would love to see an FT Draken or FT gripen:)
Yep. I’d love to see a Gripen. May have to mod a Viggen V2 in the mean time.
@@GregoryC21 with full flying canards… that would be beautiful
Picked mine up at FliteFest!
They were for sale at FF? Dang. Wish I had noticed that!
Great upgraded Viggen. How about an upgraded install of the afterburner and heat sink the exhaust instead of melting it down next time?❤
Not a bad idea 😂
That Viggen has a performance (and something of the look) of the English Electric Lightning jet interceptor/fighter (C1960-1980).
The real life Viggen has better short field performance and nose authority than the EE Lightning, but they do share a similar purpose and the Viggen did follow in the EEL's footsteps with a time to 36k feet of less than a minute.
The ultimate refit.
I know this is an advertisement for the re-release, but if all ads were this good, I wouldn't mind watching them.
I would love to see more jets (I’m addicted to them)
Maybe like some 40-64mm jets would be cool
That thing seems very light for 6S!
Will the downloadable plans be updated to v2?

I see a flite test video i click simple 😂❤
Do it w retracts or offer a hot wire cut fuselage that is a kit I bet it would sell very well
You need to make a thrust reverser for it like the real Viggen, would be fun in the air ;)
this gonna be back up on the store soon?
I just wish the kits where available for a reasonable price in Europe. Doubling the US price is hard to swallow.
Bring back the kit ! please
I wondering if it were possible to build an inflight recharging capability. Where the planes had magnetic couplers like a Mac
no vectored thrust?
Make the draken next

When will it be available at the shop?
Miss the old flite test
The Logo of My Heritage after showing the B17 looked like a Nuclear Bomb to me, I wonder why XD
Viggen is great! Speaking of John O, what happened to all his fantastic builds? He just disappeared! I miss his great designs.
Since you're revisiting David's designs, Tricopter.
Baby tricopter design scaled up for modern 7" props would be amazing
At first glance I thought it said vegan! 😆😂🤣
Hey guys, great paint job! I've been looking around for a decent (read affordable) airbrush setup. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
Bought the original before it left the store and never made the time to assemble it. Can you please make the new wing available separately?? That would be awesome!
you kidding? i wouldve jumped onto it on first sight
would it be possible to use a receiver with flight stabilization?
I still quote David saying "character fish sticks"
Hi flite test team
I can't find link to buy a speed build kit.
Could you send me the link please all I keep seeing is the first one you made years ago.😁
Cool
Why not paint the Swedish Airforce emblem on it (the three crowns)?
10 years !! Oh wow thats scary if im being honest.. I rember david and this plane like it was about 3 years ago..
10 YEARS!?!? Dang...
Would this require remote ID?
I'm going to say it does. A 6s battery alone is more than 250 grams.
For a second there, I thought that said modifying our 10 year old virgin, WTF!😂😂
Haven’t looked at it on line yet but what size edf are you using?
70mm edf power pack available on the store. :)
@@FliteTest I don't know what special sauce you've put in your 70 mm EDFs, but those things scoot! And they seem like they have WAY more punch than the ones 10 years ago.
Please, Please, Please do an "Avro Vulcan" design
Ohhhh. This is a good idea. I saw someone had a model of the Vulcan at FF but I didn't see it fly.
We miss Dave and his tri-copters
I love your video and sorry I was late
Fun fakt. The early full size viggens had the same problem, the wings broke off.
Nice!
The viggen need s to be a bigger scale
Nice
