    Nate, great video. You did forget to compare the hull of the Pungo to the Loon. You flipped the Loon over to show it's hull, but the hull of the Pungo was not shown. The hull on the Pungo is one of the biggest advantages when comparing recreational kayaks. The Pungo hull is designed for great stability, it is one of its features that separates it from all other recreational kayaks without sacrificing performance. I have paddled both many miles, there is no comparison in the stability of the Pungo over the Loon. I believe for recreational paddlers this is an important feature.

      I had the Pungo 125, good boat but the Loon 126 is far superior for guys in the 250 lb range. I camp all the time and the Pungo was a one trip and gone experience. And I'm partial to Wilderness Systems boats, I have at least a dozen assorted Pungo's and Aspires for family and friends.

    Excellent video sir! As a long time specialty retail salesperson in a previous life i can totally relate you your approach. No BS, just useful facts as well as useful opinions to help the consumer make a descision. Thanks man! Keep up the good work. If i were closer and not in Texas, I would totally check out your shop.

    Thanks for this video. Saw this review and then found a loon 120 in blue for 750 with a warner carbon paddle. Boat had only been in the water a couple of times. Best buy of the year for sure. Ive put about 40 hours on the boat already and im in love with it.

    Between the Loon 126 or the Pungo 125, which one has the most vertical space for your feet. I am 6' 1", 210lbs with size 12 feet. I currently paddle a 2016 Pungo 120. I LOVE the way the boat paddles and it's a pretty good boat for my usage, but 1) The seat is not that comfy for me and 2) My feet are uncomfortably cramped vertically. So I am looking to get a bigger boat with more volume.

      Thanks for reaching out! The Loon 126 offers a deck height of 17.25, while the Pungo doesn't list an official deck height. Measuring is kind of difficult because of the angle of the boats, but we tried to measure how your foot would be resting while in the boat and measured 12" for Loon 126, and 11" for the Pungo 125.
      If you're not a fan of the seat, the Loon seat and the Pungo seats have many similarities. We have found many who prefer the Loon seat and some that prefer the Pungo, so not sure if that will provide a massive difference for longer paddles.
      You may also consider a sit on top style like the Old Town Salty, Perception Tribe, Ocean Kayak Malibu, or Old Town Bigwater. The Loon or Pungo move easier in the water, but if you can't get comfortable in those it won't matter. If you are near any of our stores, we gladly welcome you to stop in and sit in any of the boats! We also offer demo days where you can paddle them for free on a local lake near our Oconomowoc store to get a true feel for the boat prior to purchasing.

    On the loon 106. What’s the heaviest person weight it can handle before moving up to 120.? Thanks

    • @sherpersinc
      @sherpersinc  Год назад +2

      On the Loon 106, there is a usable weight capacity of 272 lbs. That's the weight available for a person, gear, and pets. The Loon 120 can hold 321 lbs. Hope this helps!

    • @mjfollrd
      @mjfollrd Год назад

      @@sherpersinc thanks for the reply. I’m interested to know the size of person for the loon 106 as the video said paddler over 200 pound go with 126 and under 200 go with 120 but no recommendations for 106. Thanks 🙏🏻

    • @sherpersinc
      @sherpersinc  Год назад

      @@mjfollrd Totally understand! If you take a peek at the chart in the first link in the description, it shows the dimensions and deck height for each model. The width is the same (31") on the 106 and 126, but the deck height is actually a little bit taller on the 106. This gives a little more room for someone in the 106 versus the 120, however, you will hit that usable weight limit quicker, so you'll want to consider that.

    Does the Loon dashboard fit on the Pungo? has anyone tried to put it on the Pungo?

    • @sherpersinc
      @sherpersinc  Год назад +1

      Hi Mark! The Loon Dashboard is not fitted to work with the Pungo. The hull and cockpit areas are slightly different shapes, and the Loon dashboard is shaped for the Loon specifically.

      @@sherpersinc Hello again, I asked someone else (I didn't physically see it) who had both the current loon and current pungo, and they said the loon dashboard did fit when they tried it. Have you guys tried the loon dash on the pungo physically? Thanks again.

    how does these compared to the pelican argo xr ? I know its cheaper but it got a camp seat .. why doesnt more kayaks got this ?

    • @sherpersinc
      @sherpersinc  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there! We currently don't carry the Pelican models, but can provide a little basic insight on the differences. The Argo is constructed via a blow mold versus the roto mold of the Pungo and Loon. This allows it to be produced faster and easier, allowing for the lower price point, but it won't be as strong as the roto mold kayaks, or have as much ability for changes in the hull design. The hull designs on the Pungo or Loon allow them to move much better in the water in addition to providing better stability. As for the seats, the Argo's seat appears to be able to come out fully which is a unique feature. That being said we haven't personally sat in one to know how it would feel on the water. We recommend stopping by a store to sit in the Pungo or the Loon seats, as they are some of the most comfortable available!
