I’m doing a scarf in dragon fruit with simple stitch Tunisian. Turning out great
I have heard that. The way the colors are uneven prevents it from pooling or being spotty looking. I might have to play with tunisian simple stitch with it and see what I think and do an update.

I love your review. I agree I think it looks amazing knitted. I don't love it as much in crochet projects.
With the right project it will be beautiful, but I just struggled to find the right pattern for it.

I normally would too. I do love the fabric it made with both crafts! It is just so stinkin' squishy!
I have to say, I really like the hugs n kisses as the top of a scrap blanket.

Very nice. I just got all my yarn in one place & see the magnitude 😳🧶 of what I own & I don’t think I will be buying any yarn until I get a few gone, but I do appreciate reviews & watching new things 🧶🥰

I only crochet and I’m really enjoying the fruit yarns. I’ve made four items and just made sure to use simple stitches. The colors are great and it’s so soft. I get bored with plain yarn 😊
That is awesome! You will have to share pictures on my FB group so I can see what you did! Like I said, successful crochet projects are possible, I just struggled to get what I wanted. The colors are AMAZING and the quality is just dreamy! It is beautiful and I will be buying more of it!

Thank you so much for your honest review of the fruits yarn. I only crochet, and was afraid of the pattern troubles you mentioned. So happy I waited to purchase this very pretty in a cake yarn. 🍌🍓🫐
It really is a beautiful yarn, if you find a pattern that is perfect for it I recommend. I just wasn't coming up with things that worked very well.
I just ordered the watermelon, guava, and blueberry. I can't wait to get them. I plan on knitting hats. I ordered from Herrschners on Sunday and got them on sale for $3.99. Loved seeing everything you made.

I agree that this yarn is really meant to be knit. I knitted most of what I made. I made very small things with crochet.
I have heard that it looks great in Tunisian stitches. I might have to try it and do an updated review.

Hi Carrie! I bought the dragon fruit in both weights and love it for knit. The best crochet stitch pattern I have used for yarns like this is the moss/linen stitch. It hides the transitions really well. Thanks for your thorough review!
I really didn't mind it in the linen stitch. I had more issues with how short/long the changes where (awkward length) and them being uneven preventing me from getting either good randomized colors or stripes. What I forgot to mention was how the speckles really showed up in the crochet fabric! That was so cool!

Hey Carrie! Thank you so much for doing this review! I also bought the sweet roll fruits and haven't started a project yet. This really help me to know that I will need to knit these to get the results that I want. It is crazy how much you can get knitting vs crochet!
You can get a good project with crochet, but you really will have to be careful of the stitches you use.
Thank you for the review of this yarn. It’s so pretty but I can see what you mean about the knit versus the crochet pattern. I wonder if it would work with Tunisian crochet better than regular crochet. I haven’t ordered any yet so I’ll wait a little longer before I do. 💜🙏🏻
I have heard that it looks fantastic in tunisian simple stitch because the uneven color lengths give it more variety.
I'm only a crocheter, so these fruit yarns probably aren't for me. I've heard that Tunisian crochet looks good, tho. Thx for the review and your honesty!😊👍🏻🧶 Hope your toe changes to green and yellow soon! 🤣🤣

So in yarns of this type the stitch can make or break a pattern in things we create with a yarn of this caliber🤔 thank you for sharing I rather like ed hugs and kisses long stripe you swatched🤔 very pretty color way.

To me it looked like a version of the Bloom yarn. Like you say, fine for knitting, not so great for crochet. I'm one that doesn't like the really variegated yarn for crochet.

Much shorter "stripes" than Bloom. If it were as long as bloom, I could at least get stripes with a hat and cowl. It is too long to be variegated and too short to stripe.
I’ve heard that the Sweet Roll Fruits only work up in crochet using single crochet. If you use single crochet it looks the most like the knitted pattern. I don’t like single crochet though.
It is too short to stripe even in singles if you do something more than about 44 stitches. The headband is single crochet.
I believe this yarn is meant to be knit and in small projects like hats and cowls

Isn’t this a normal problem with all self patterning yarns? If you knit them, they work out as expected. When crocheting, they are much more difficult if not impossible to create the pattern effect. ❤️🧶
Yes an no... There are some that work up just fine in crochet but different. This one is just kinda odd... It is not just different, it is not really working up right at all... Normally I can find a way to make it work but this length is just impossible for me. I did post an update video though, I know how to work it and it really does sing.
