Thank you for this video! I enjoyed it so much. I have just finished reading my first Georgette Heyer book. The Quiet Gentleman. I took a while to get into the story, but in the end I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely reread this one some time. I think the second time round it will be a different but equally satisfying experience.

Agree with many of your picks, particularly your high scorers, although I was very much surprised by your low opinion of "Friday's Child." Heyer actually revisited FC characters to rework into "Cotillion" (hero being a bit of a mashup of Gil & Ferdy.) I would love to know your opinion of "Sprig Muslin" because there are no rakes and great ancillary characters. Happy Heyer!

You absolutely have to try “Sylvester or the Wicked Uncle” hijinks, comedy, great side characters and a pride and Prejudice-esque romance. It’s one of my favorites!

Agree with all your picks, but you have to read "The Grand Sophy". Then you will put it in a MOST FAVORITE category all on its own.

You didn't mention These old Shades, Faro's daughter and The Convenient marriage. I'm going to guess from your taste that you probably can't stand them, but they're brilliant. Also, Arabella and Frederica which I personally don't like much are incredibly popular among her fans.

First of all, I’m amazed that anyone new actually found this video?!
And yes, you’re right - I haven’t read any of the ones you mention, but based on everything I’ve heard, I doubt they will be for me! I’m happy for everyone who likes them, but I just really don’t get on with rakish heroes!
Arabella is the only one of those I still plan to try, but mostly I’m happier rereading my favourites over and over at the moment 😂
