Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Vilayat Khan and Ustad Shujaat H Khan....are playing before me in my little tablet...as if one peacock is dancing ....as if one river is flowing ...I simply go on hearing on and on and on...to be mesmerized....! Yes, indeed. This rendition contains all of the emotions Bhairavi has to offer. p.s- I really enjoyed your phenomenal cinematography in Duvidha. love your work! Stay well Mr. Contractor.
Hi, kinda new to this style of music, I commented above.. what is Bhairavi ? A passage in BagahaGavida ? or Koran ? idk ... I am fascinated by this music.. thanks
A musical instrument is dead as long as it is not in the hands of its messiah. Once the messiah gives it the touch of fingers, it revives and regains life and soul. This is what can be said about these Ustads. Wow, what a rendition.

Ustad Vilayat Khan's performance is transcendental. He is jolly good player! I was introduced to his record in 1978, while living and working in Norway. Once you start listing you don't feel like stopping! What a perfection.......
Go seeking a better sitarist, musician, and maestro than Ustad Sahab, you will realise that none exists. Your music is divine and devotional to the Lord Himself. I am truly mesmerised and awestruck by your talent, Sir.
Shujaat Khan with Vilayat khan saab !! Cannot say baap se beta sawai, but a pleasure to see them in jugalbandi ! Topping the concert with Zhakir bhai !!! This is bliss. God has blessed us to see them perform live !!
Imdadi Gharana's unique mastery of mimicking the inimitable human voice through a few strings...what can be said of it in words? The soul is in ecstasy and body sways helplessly with goose bumps all over it!
Out of the world. And the moment Ustad Vilayat khan Sahab does that fast jhaala near 24:06 min, it was like my soul went out of the body, inhuman thing. He was god himself. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Probably one of the greatest Bhiravi duet on sitar ever played by two of the best maestros with unbeatable body language!! Great pleasure to listen and watch with impressive Tabla maestro complementing sitar duet.
Do you know when and where this concert is/was? I am wondering if it was Spring of 1995 in Mumbai. I was at that concert - it was a celebration of 50 years of Taleen(?) by a rich industrialist who studied under Khan Sahib.
One of those rare concert recording when two superb artists, Father & Son, each with his own unique style of playing & rendition, perform the same raga in a duet/joint performance. Superb ! an experience of a lifetime.
Very well phrased, that emotion contained in a few seconds, would need pages to attempt expressing in words, but will fall short. There is a whole story behind those notes. You are astute to notice it :)
#UstadVilayatKhan has a different style altogether, never heard a Hindustani Classical artist like him. @12:16 The living legend comes in his natural form #UstadZakirHussain
Vilayat Khan Saheb. What an artiste! Even today the notes on his sitar send tingles down my spine. He brought emotion into his performances as few were able to do.Ably supported by his son Shujat Khan whom I also admire.
Such wonderful redemption , pleasure of having concert impact in comfort of home. How we are wasting time in trivial rather than Admiring such impact and contribution to music - outcome of understanding, innovating and sheer hard work -- the evidence of Ganga jamuni tahzeeb
Yaha yau tri murti three lovely gods presenting celestial recital with so beautiful notes n rhythm of tabla maestro zakir sahebs lovely presentation my regards for all of the threes
I'm not a man to give any comment for these genious... but only one thing i like to say that i could not distinguish between the sound of tsbla played by Sir Jakir and the sound of S.i.t.a.r...played by Sir Vilayet....Pranam janai both to them...
This is an wonderful presentation which I listened several times but this is an evergreen creation with mesmerizing effects which can only be created by the trio . Kudos to them . This rendition is a proof of immortality of Indian Classical Music.
Gives meaning to the famous Beatles words "my guitar gently weeps". The Sitar in the hands of the father-son duo, sings and weeps. Sound of angels singing, wow, clean bowled!
Ustad Zakir Hussain at his best on the Tabla, he always has the volume turned up, (His Trademark)His father, Ustad Allah Rakha taught him well, (God bless him)
He was scary. So totally in control at the same time, breaking into song, chatting with friends in the audience, telling them to listen to a particularly good bit, but always at the highest levels of musical expression. From time to time, he would get into a trance; at those times, to be in the audience was truly to be in heaven. He was a feature of the performances at Mahajati Sadan. Bengalis loved him; he was as much Bengali as anything else; he loved them back, almost literally, as those who know his personal life will readily agree.
Cannot imagine I missed this phenominal performance for so long. Amazing 'sangat' by the admirable son; not a single unmatched note. Wah wah. Syed Kader California
This is the music of the gods, which brings Shiva, Ganesh, Krishna into a trance and they start dancing.
Absolutely 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼♥️

The sitar seems to be an extension of his arms and plugged in to his soul.
I don't understand much what music is! But this transcend me into another world. A world of pure love, peace and tranquality.
Magnificent and spell bounding music from the giants of India (Hendoostan)
I have attended many concerts of Ustad Vilayat Khan, I have never seen him so happy & smiling widely!
