Have you been watching at all? While yeah the bullpen sucked in the beginning of the year over the past 6 weeks the Cubs have been the #1 bullpen in MLB. Yeah they still need a lockdown closer but our biggest issue is no offense
Make some trades and get ready for 2025. No hitting and no consistency. Taillon saw Morel get traded mid game so his mind was probably not on the game. He just pitched a bad game because of the trade deadline.
Pathetic offense? Ok. But the Cubs this year have scored more runs than the Cardinals and as many runs as Atlanta. It’s also relief pitching and inconsistent defense.
@@bthome123 if the cubs had a better offense, they would have 10 more wins and would be in the wild card. other teams can turn it on anf get enough. cubs get nothing 5 games in a row, then 9 runs in a fluke win, then 3 more games of 1-2 run ball. the pitching is fine-usually a quality start, the defense is solid besides suzuki, but the anemic offense does not give them a chance where so many teams have one. if the cubs go down 3-4 runs, they lose 90% of the time this year
Evidently the Cubs hitters didn’t take their Prevagen, because they didn’t remember how to hit last night. Greg from the Prevagen commercials would be disappointed
Counsell has to be getting sick of managing these dead from the neck up players with no fire. I am surprised the Counsell hasn't been kicked out of more games this year, it has to be frustrating.

Investment and return is the way that the Cubs have always operated . They could have gotten the players that would have gotten them deep into the playoffs in the off season . They will sell the tickets and TV revenue and come out better off then paying large players contracts . It's the history of the Cubs and the owners know that the fans will buy tickets .

Lots of ok to good players but no GREAT players. Bush, the best bat they have had this season may turn into a Mark Grace caliber player which is very good. Lots of minor league talent. Trade Nico, Happ, the bull pen and anything else that is not tied down. Get more young talent. Don't give up on PCA. Catchers hitting .180. SS hitting .210. The departed Morel had potential but belonged in the minors. Get Bote into the line up. Can we stop playing Mastroboni. Average is up to .200!! Counsel for 8 million a year?? Bad owners. Bad management.
