I fainted in the grocery store a little over a year ago. Haven't been back since. I order my groceries online now and do curbside pick-up. I have nearly fainted several times since so I don't go out much now. I do still drive but only short trips around town, and luckily, I have plenty of warning that I'm near fainting so that I can pull off the road. I keep salt and water in the car and that helps. POTS is horrible.

Idk what state you’re in but for example CA, if you go unconscious for any medical reason you lose your ability to drive. I had a one off grand Mal seizure due to a bad migraine that was labeled as epilepsy and lost my drivers license for over a year. So please check and make sure you can legally drive.

I'm training my PTSD/ Medical Alert for Hypoglycemia no not Diabetes but like it in a way Sugar amd Protein drop, and Hypokalemia which for some is hereditary a Potassium deficiency. They can cause light head, heart palpations and Dizzy Spells while muscle cramp and stiff up. My 10 month old Service Dog in training is doing well with scent training and PTSD alerts and tasking. It's good to see in action, but not pleasant for a Handler to have to go through so that family and friends understand it's not a joke, nit to be taken lightly and why you need a service dog to help you handle and manage the diagnosis. Unfortunately many stores prejudge us coming in assume because I'm not "physically handicapped" that I should not need my dog tethered or my using a handle to move around with him and can let go of it when getting stuff. That only somehow their store policies only allow this if they see a "Physically Disability" and they are ignorant to unseen disability that require for our safety and efficiency of tasking for him to be off leash with either tether or a handle harness to the vest. I have even had this issue at Pet Stores, they claim they don't want to argue, but they do, they can't see my medical issues so they "Demand use of leash" they think it won't be a big deal if I'm shopping there and told I'm "forced to leash or leave" the ignorance and bias because I don't look physically disabled is real making it difficult to want to even return if ever to the places both outside and inside because their policies violate ADA Laws, including new laws signed in our government in my state to help make clear doesn't matter if the Service dog is through a Service Dog Facility or Private Training by Organization they are the equivalent in Public Access Training and as a Service Dog, and the Handler is as much a trainer anls the Trainer they work with. Unfortunately I get harassment and outdated ADA nonsense that I try to show latest updates and polices but the places won't have it, and argue.....even say they'll take my Service Dog from me and call police if I don't leave, because in their stereotypical delusional entitled world I don't appear disabled, and my dogs breed is xl and they are only family with certain breeds, and if they can't get me to leave they threaten to frame me and claim I am making a scene and my dogs misbehaving because they arent aware of different types of alerts. So I now have a camera on the vest to catch the employees, management or customers in the act and trying to pull this crap. It's better than pulling out phone because they then try and change their tune, even try to erase the footage of their behavior, the camera on vest sure fired way to make sure they are held accountable to fullest extent of law. As many times they aren't even aware, all I have to do is tap the camera to activate it, and they'll continue their absue and threats, bullying and ignorance not changing their behavior and then I can go outside call police and it's all there they can't dent it and will be prosecuted to fullest extent of law. Of course then they try to make things right or as I call it bribery so they dont get in trouble and black listed by Better Business Bureau and ADA amd taken to court. I just keep my witts about me and stay calm as best as I can to get it all on camera before leaving to report it.
Sorry if it’s too personal, but how did you know to ask your doctor to test for it or did they recommend it…like symptom wise? Sometimes I wonder if I have POTS because I get extremely lightheaded when I get up or walking I get like tunnel vision and dizzy and feel like I’m going to pass out
@@chronicallyjordyn I'd love to know how you recover so quickly from a fainting episode. My sister has POTS and when she fully faints it often takes a good ten minutes or more for her to truly come back to us and be stable enough to get to her feet (since she looses all control of her body and goes completely flat). Are you using any other aids aside from your service dog?
@@Twintails7770 I’ve been doing IV fluids through a central line now for almost 4 months and it has really improved fainting and the recovery time of it. My service dog also really helps me recover quickly because of the deep pressure therapy. He has done to help regulate my body.

It was good young teens did the right thing and check you were OK so often young folk get a bad reputation when it is only a small minority

Have you ever fainted behind the wheel? Is that a fear? I would be terrified to drive because of that.

I have a condition called pots which stands for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, so it’s change in position that triggers it

I also normally don’t faint while already sitting down, I can normally feel the faint coming on before it happens has well
