great demo, really highlighting the pedals' strong points, and a thorough run of each setting. I think you sold me on the power amp section being pretty vital. Also really liking the 6v6 power amp tube setting, and Dyna421 mic setting.
Hi guy! Should this Solid Studio, along with the PreAmp pedal, be placed at the end of the signal chain after the modulations, before the modulations or should the modulations be between them? Thanks for the help!
Absolutely impressive !!! im not a big fan of these Cab Simulators (TwoNotes or such) coz i found that most of the time they kill your dynamic N mess up your tone but that one is just mind blowing N really makes a big improvement with no signal quality loss ...It will be really cool if NuX would make a stereo 1U rack version ...i will buy it soon ^^
Hello, Can this be connected direct to the input of a guitar amp? Thinking of the following setup: Guitar -> Nux overdrive steel singer -> Nux Solid studio -> Nux Duotime -> into the inputs of two identical Vox Pathfinder 15Rs ckass A solid state amps (setup in a ping pong setup thanks to the duotime).
Great playing as always, but why would anyone do an amp demo with Overdrive and full Reverb on ALL the time...? It may be an 'awesome' sound, but it's like eating ALL your food with Curry Powder... Is the pedal any good for other tones...? Who knows ?
NUX or IRIDIUM for live performance direct to board with no guit amp? Need from clean-to-OD-to-distortion to cover all bases and genres in a cover band. Thoughts?
The descrpitionof the Thru output is completely confusing to me. The Manual simply states output for unaffected dry signal. Neither has explained what it is used for with a clear example scenario. Why would you plug an amp and cab into a simulator only to have a dry unaffected signal?
Once the SS is on the board and connected, you have the option to use it as intended with sim without amp or if you want to bypass it because your amp is there, then "thru" allows you to use your pedalboard without the Sim. It's actually very practical.
I read in a few places that you need a preamp before this pedal. What's up with that? It makes the price less attractive. A decent preamp (Mooer, etc) is around 80 buckes.
I bought the pedal and I get a high pitch sound when using xlr output no matter what I do. with or without any input and with both footswitches on or off. Any help?
I'm 8 minutes in and only stadium distortion sounds... Do you ever play it clean or with some mild OD? Or lord forbid - - an acoustic sound? You play very well, but do conceive that not everyone is trying for Bon Jovi sound all the time.
Right?!? I need to know how it sounds clean cause that is mainly what I need it for. LOL He says numerous times "That's great for a clean sound," but he never goes clean. Is he hiding behind the gain? 😉😁💯
Take into account that you'll need a preamp before this, if you connect your pedals directly to this without preamp the eq and volumes of your clean and distorted sounds will vary A LOT. Believe me, it happened to me when I bought the mooer radar. So, answering your question, the clean and acoustic sounds you can get will depend at least 50% on the preamp you connect before this pedal. The other 50% will be the IR you decide to load into the nux solid studio.
@@mikec3412 You totally missed the ;) I put up there...oye...I know Tom Quayle is good, but I'm pointing out that there is no clean demo during the entire thing. You may have missed that, too... :-D
I NEED HELP. I'm having a problem with my SOLID STUDIO. It creates glitches, lag, low octave noises, and it sucks my tone so bad. This happened after I load an IR into the pedal. It's so frustrating. I tried my other preamp pedal and it worked fine. I tried my board directly to my interface without the SOLID STUDIO pedal. Again, it worked fine. No glitches, No Lag. Hope anyone could help me fix this.
NUX make great stuff and I'm pretty sure this came out before the Iridium. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a better Iridium alternative (or at least comparable but cheaper).
I came here for the review, but I stayed for the guitar playing. That picking is smooth and awesome.
I absolutely need this pedal. Awesome review Tom!

I'm ok with no 6L6. Same character as the 6V6's but more bass on tap. This thing sounds great.
I’m buying this item!! Excellent demo
Looks like a modern, compact take on the ADA Ampulator - must say I am most interested.
How would you compare this pedal to the Mooer Radar please?
Hi guy! Should this Solid Studio, along with the PreAmp pedal, be placed at the end of the signal chain after the modulations, before the modulations or should the modulations be between them? Thanks for the help!
Great Job Tom!🤘
Awesome demo and explanation. Like what you do..
Sounds great but the IR loading ability, it's size, the thru functionality, this thing is on my watch list now.

It's not that different to the others. It kills your dynamics.

Quite agree.
Awesome review! Thanks! Would a comparison with Iridium pedal. Cant find any here
Hum, 120€ versus 400€... But I would be curious to compare nonetheless.

Woah!!... that’s killer. I want this....
wich drive pedal do you used please? Thanks!
Not sure why I would want to switch them off, maybe noise between songs at a gig?
Damn that Ibanez is nice.
Ibanez TQM1-NT tom quail model
If Guthrie Govan had an Ibanez...
@@chrisbellevue why would he, when he knows that Charvels eat Ibanez for breakfast & wring their necks just for the sheer fun of it!
already built in preamp ???? thanks
Can you switch from clean to dirty?

Send that one back. Must be a defect.

impressive demo man!! sounds good!!
Itas possibile connection cabinet for guitar?
So this is not a load box that is to say I cannot plug my amp in with out to a DAW for instance?
NO
So it cant do clean tones?
Yes it can but he is running distortion all the time.
What a light touch, can always be lighter it seems!
MAJORCOOL!!
says its ''all analogue'' then talks about loading 'ir's, and updating firmware via usb......lol.
Oh my God! Cleans please? Or at least not ALL stadium rock distortion! 🙄

What's the best location of this power amp simulator pedal in the chain? Thanks.
At the end, or better said, after the pedalboard going to (before) the PA/audio interface.
no clean sounds?

try reset or update your firmware
try get the default preset
Do a Factory reset to bring it back.
Isn't it pronounced "new ex"?
Yes, which is hilarious. :D

Using distortion pedals to do demos should be banned. Cleans????
Not a single clean note...great review?
MIne sounds nothing like this. Bright, harsh, the power-amp section is almost unusable. I suspect there's some post-production going on here.
Terrible demo
jeez this guy is monotonously boring - in everything he does on GI....
