I take Berberine because it's cheaper than paying the Co pays to see a doctor who won't prescribe me metformin anyway because my A1c is 5.2 but I am insuline resistant and have PCOS. I can track side effects of supplements myself, I order and take blood test myself to look for results. I don't take any prescriptions so no interference there. Doctors I can see are limited because our insurances limits who you can see. Most of these doctors look at me like I'm talking way over their head if I want to discuss metabolic health past standard A1c , blood pressure, and how a standard lipid panel looks. So it leaves people like me to educate themselves, get blood work through on line lab companies, and then try to make a safe choice on lifestyle changes and supplements based on those results. Nothing annoys me more than paying a doctor/ nurse practitioners and I'm having to teach them . Doesn't leave much confidence in providers.

Good doctors are out there, not easy to find but out there. As Consumers WE can insist on better physicians, that the physicians have a better ability to be better physicians, ie less stress on pushing pharmaceuticals, better access to modalities that are proven to work - imagine if a GP could prescribe a gym membership! Imagine if a doctor could more easily CHECK up on patients if they feel its needed and they get supported by the system. As Consumers I wonder what WE could achieve if we UNITED in some many many hundreds of ways, tribe up and BE HEARD. Do it any way you wish to but tribe up somehow. Andre

@@LobsterMobility I'm sure they are. But most people don't have the financial opportunity to go seek them out and are stuck with doctors within their insurance group. FOR EXAMPLE God help you if you have Kaiser... I
doubt you will ever find one there and several million people have no choice but to go there. If you belong to an insurance you're most likely have to find a doctor in that network which greatly limits your ability to find a good metabolic health doctor. Doctors working within Networks are going to do as they're told by the network. They're not
going to offer you more in depth care. Hospital groups they work for don't make money that way. Health care is a money making game unfortunately

Yeah, after taking Metformin, I felt the the affects on my heart and stopped after a day or two and that was in my early 30s. Now Berberine has helped my heart and I can feel the difference. Both being pretty apparent. Berberine is a way better choice than Metformin.

The problem, for me, is the feeling that since I've been mislead by the AHA and ADA, et. al., for my entire life, how do I trust these doctors who are still under the "control" (respectfully) of outside factors.

So I have another point of view on this, just for information and disclosure in the Buren industry or any other industry like that. I was taking both berberine and metformin and my A1c dropped to 5.1 and it was consistently 5.1. Finally, my doctor said I don’t want that low so he took me off of Met Forman, and then lo and behold. I just got tested this last month or actually this month, and just been taking 1200 mg of berberine, and Buy A1c is 4.9. I think that’s rather interesting. You.

I keep seeing these types of videos about Berberine being compared one on one with a different med, but only for one variable. They say well Berberine does X but Med does X 10% better. However, Berberine seems to improve 10 different variables at the same time. I would rather give up the 10% for multiple improvement but only from one substance instead of all the meds it’s being compared to.

I am a healthcare provider also , and I take Berberine for the glycemic and anti inflammatory effect it has , and I can tell you that it’s much less expensive than Metformin . I am not sure where Jesus is getting his info on pricing on Metformin , probably in Mexico it’s less , but herein US it’s not , first of all a patient needs a prescription that costs money , and then you have to get it filled from a pharmacy where you will have a copay . Depending on which type and group of insurance you have , it’s more money in a month than month supply of Berberine . Berberine here costs about 15 dollars for a whole bottle in Texas . Also I find it interesting that Dr Ford is presenting a schewed attitude toward Berberine VS Metformin .
    Berberine works , period .
Also I am a follower of Dr Ford , but I think his perception here is alittle biased towards Metformin . We can look at high doses of both and they will both have an adverse effect profile as with all substances . The other thing is that Dr Bikman is tremendously credible in his presentations , ie Molecular and Cell Biology , He is at the front line of these studies because he’s actually doing them and publishing . Something that Dr Ford, colleagues , and myself are not doing or seeing .
Great presentation as usual , really triggers more dialogue and begs for more questions to be answered . After all this is what science is about , Question and do the research .
    Thank you for listening

Exactly! Prior tho the first statin coming to market, the upper limit of health total cholesterol was 300. They lowered it, then abracadabra, a drug for all those new people that were over 200. Then it was 150, then 100, now 80. US smoking rate has declined by 50%, yet CVD and events have stayed level or increased. Lowering LDL is not the answer, is based on a study that has already been admitted by the researcher as falsified because he was a vegetarian and wanted to move American diet to vegetarian. Cholesterol protects the brain, our neural network, every cell wall/membrane, boosts our immunity, and is essential to hormone regulation. Our bodies genetically determine 80% of our cholesterol levels, and increase as we get older because we need more cholesterol in older age. Its no wonder there is an epidemic of alzheimers, Parkinson, adhd, etc. For the first time in decades, US life expectancy has gone down. Due to the food and pharmaceutical industry, secondary would be the chemical/petroleum companies producing roundup, Teflon and microplastics.

I have a mil who suffered serious diarrhea from metformin. We tried so many other diabetes meds with really poor results, even with 20g total carbs for her diet. She’s 84, which causes people to write her off as a candidate for improvement but they don’t live with her. Also, she has successfully gotten off two
bp meds, furosemide, three diabetes meds, omeprazole, lowered her fbg by 80 pts, and knocked her A1C from 6.2 to 5.3 as of almost a year ago. However, she is sliding into dementia. She is now very close to 0 carb but mostly due to food boredom.
The point I’m getting to is that on 2/3 of the recommended dose of berberine, her bg benefits by about 30 points over the course of a day and seems to be the hero of fbg reduction. If we do the full three berberine caps/day she gets the diarrhea again.

      @mikejones4308 3 месяца назад +5

Increasd Body stress (ex: heavy workout) leads to inflammation, increased cortisol, increased blood glucose, increased insulin. You are hyperinsulin resistant. The solution is not a quick depletion of muscle glucose, the answer is to remove all carbs until your body becomes insulin sensitive again. Go back to walking, not jogging, not running, not HIIT, etc. And do 16:8 intermittent fasting progressing to 20:4 fasting. Then do OMAD, then OMEOD, Then 3 day water fast for maximizing autophagy and repairing and resetting your cells. After 3-day fast, use a video on how to resume eating after fasting. Then return to 20:4 eating without carbs. Once your fasting BG is down in the low 70s, introduce 5-10 grams of carbs of broccoli or cauliflower, see how your CGM reading goes. If you are insulin sensitive, your BG should go up less than 30 points, and should recover to baseline within 2 hours. If not, plan your next 3-day water fast, continue no carbs. If your waistline is more than half your height, you are insulin resistant.

No bad drugs or supplements, only whether or not the side effects out weigh the benefits. Also, the big one, they only work if you need them. Nutrient assays and genes tells us a lot about what is going on if we take the time to look. Burgamont causes me the same side effects as statins just takes longer to show up. Key issue with FH is APOB gene defect means I don't clear ldl so statins starve me at a cellular level that is the source of the muscle and joint pain. Unfortunately, there are no good solutions for correcting the APOB or LDLR gene polymorphisms. 85% of monogenic FH... LMHR, put anyone like me on Keto diet and you will make those observations nothing new there.

My vascular surgeon did a carotid artery ectomy. She said I had soft sticky plaque. She cut the artery across and peeled it back like a sock and removed the plaque And stitched it back together. That is how she described it. 2018. I was on long tern Lovastatin. After that I found your channel and learned about my insulin resistance and diet and lifestyle changes I need to make. I am cab addicted and believe I am a TOFI what Dr Roy Taylor calls thin outside and fat inside, In other words have a fatty liver and pancreas. I am fairly lean but had a middle age spread which I have since lost and am working in muscle mass and HIit. I had a prediabedic diagnosis since I was 55 now 72 and my primary doc was and is still not concerned by it. All of my blood markers are in a good range now , but my HA1C has gone up. 5.7- 5.8 I have been using berberine along with lifestyle changes and testing fasting glucose and am looking forward to seeing my HA1C down to a good range,. My health care won’t test it more than once a year. Also switched my statin to low dose Crestor. Plus use niacin with breaks.
