    Thanks for watching! Let me know what you think of the BlackView BL9000 Pro 5G. It's the first rugged phone I've tested on this channel so I'd love to know if you want me to cover more of them, and if you're thinking about picking one up, by using my links below, I may earn some commission to put towards future videos. This video is not sponsored, and I wasn't paid by BlackView to make it.
    AliExpress: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DBnbQ8J
    If you don't see a discounted price, you can try the following codes:
    $50 Code: USSC50(USA)
    £40 Code: UKJU40(UK)
    $50 Code: 24SC50(Global)
    Amazon: amzn.to/45eyXqX
    The Amazon product page isn't live yet, but when available you'll be able to find it through BlackView's Amazon store, linked above.
    Thanks for watching, have a great day.

    Super interesting to see there's still brands doing these types of phones for tradespeople. Thermal imaging is a really good shout to include in a rugged phone.

      I just bought this phone BL9000 only, but for thermal I picked up thermal master P2 which is an add-on using your USB port, and that one has zoom and up to 512x384 resolution. That's also my recommendation.

    Love the massive battery life of the BL9000 Pro. Two days on a single charge with moderate use is seriously impressive. The Dimensity 8020 seems very power-efficient.

    The only issue I'll mention being on my second bv phone is that while it is beefy sturdy and won't esthetically get damaged the extra weight makes the momentum of a drop intensify ten fold so a sinple drop w the transfer in energy can result in a fall causing the phone to short out

      Thanks for the insight, great point. I dropped it twice and it was fine, but never from a great height. Basil

    Now that's like a powerhouse. The Blackview BL9000 Pro looks like a beast. Thermal imaging, 50MP cameras, huge battery - this phone has it all with Mediatek Dimensity 8020.

    Im more interested in actual use and practicality of the product. Thankyou for mentioning the screen brightness in sun light. Im also interested in how dark it can go when its dark out without burning my eyeballs without turning on dark mode.
    You said it gets pretty loud but im assuming thats for media? What about in call volume?
    My last concern would be overall connectivity to other devices. My ulefone is a bit finiky connecting to other Bluetooth devices and usually doesn't connect automatically. More specifically garmin watch but that could be a Garmin issue. Also my ulfeone doesn't always answer calls, says it does but just hangs up on the other end. Gets annoying having to restart my phone all the time.

    Got one month ago. Great but not up to my heavy use. My wife has a Redmi note 13 pro+ it's cheaper and goes like a rocket and it's waterproof. But if you don't have a million apps running in the background and fancy a top end night camera then this is for you

    Upgraded from a BV9800 PRO, also with very handy thermal camera, that I've owned the past 2.5 years.
    I have not completely moved over to the new BL9000 PRO, but all seems fine at this stage, EXCEPT for that horrible flap that closes the USB charging port. The BV9800 PRO was MUCH better in that respect.
    I'm not sure if I'll be using the 120W charger regularly, as I don't believe that can be good for the battery.
    Time will tell if I love the new phone more... Oh, and sorry, nearly forgot, very nice review and seemed very balanced - Well done!

      Fast charging is fine. It reduces charge / discharge cycles by 5%. Lithium tech is really mature now so that's still over a 1000 charge cycles.

    Hey there, great review, one question, does this have a night time IR camera like the Ulefone Armor series oh phones? So it can see in the dark with its Infra Red lights built in, not the thermal camera? thanks!

    I have the old one BV9800 and really the quality of parts is bad the front camera stops 2 Months later and the phone screen broke second day I bought falling from me to the ground And the speakers stops after one year . but the good thing about this phone is only call Recording and Thermal Camera when I compare it with my other new phone DOdgee v20 The BV9800 wins

    Some details of these chinese brands: Ulefone, Doogee, Oukitel, they are all the same.
    NO software support nor guarantee.
    You can buy an USB-C FLiR camera that is way better than this and you can buy a rugged case to any smartphone.

      The silver lining re software support is that it comes with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP recovery is available...so more powerful custom roms can be built for it for years to come

    It will not work in Australia, The 3g network has been switched off and the Australian regulator has prevented this phone from working, I am trying to return the phone it's less than 6 months old. The old Blackview BL8800 Pro I have, still works and has longer battery performance than the BL9000 Pro. The BL9000 Pro has a better Thermal Camera but everything else is better on the older BL8800 Pro

    thermal imaging seriously? for what use ?

    • @tech_edit
      @tech_edit  7 месяцев назад +3

      That totally depends on you. Professional tradespeople like plumbers and electricians could benefit from it, and I actually used it on my cat, it can help make sure an infection hasn't spread (on an animal or human), and also find where drafts are coming in through an opening in a window or door. That said, for many it won't be valuable, naturally. Hope that helped! Basil

    For trades people, that thermal sucks lol sorry, but there are much better alternatives out there, which can be used with the phone's usb port. It is a good phone overall, and good video too 👍

    • @lumay333
      @lumay333 16 дней назад +1

      What are the alternatives please?

    • @VPXM2012
      @VPXM2012 16 дней назад

      @lumay333 for everyday short distance scanning like your house, there are lots of good thermal cams, most come with 160x90, 256x192, or even 320x240 resolutions and they do adequate job with average 25 frames per second. They usually cost few hundred dollars (sorry, don't know where you're at).
      For long range, you need bare minimum of 256x192 or 512x384 resolution like infiray, they usually cost around 500 dollars. After that, you really are getting into army toys, where resolutions range from 640x512 all the way into full hi definition resolutions, and unless you're willing to sell your car for them, likely won't see for a long time lol
