For those of you who are unfamiliar a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop a train incase the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents rollercoaster trains from colliding with each other.
hey thats my idea on twitter
Oooh that makes so much sense! I'm surprised I've never heard this before!
Sometime train still collide :(
@brick lord only if you're a ride operator on the Smiler at Alton Towers
Wow cool ride! I hope nothing bad happens to it…
Day of Orientation.
SFGA Supervisor: (sigh) so what inspired you to come work for Six Flags this summer?
Inspired individual: Yeah well, El Toro Ryan sent me 😎.
SFGA Supervisor: Yea well, Santa Claus sent me....here's your shirt.
Thank you Ryan. It's cool to get more behind the scenes stuff.
It´s amazing how graceful a train with such long cars can look going through those turns! Thank you for sharing this footage and have a nice day!
i got so excited to see that it was back open until i saw 2017 in the title 😭😭😭 dont get my hopes up like that man
Remember Kevin Gregg from Theme Park Maniacs? He really loved this coaster. I love watching all his vlogs from the 2014 season. May he rest in peace🙏.
We were friends and his channel was a big influence on Ryan creating the coaster idiots series. Ryan's actually in a few of his videos from that year! He is dearly missed and will always be remembered.
@@Tortidis987 Sunday, August 3rd he was with them at Great Adventure
y do I feel like its 1st test run of the 2017 season was faster than how it ran in 2022? Hopefully this beast will be running great again and safely🙏
It wasn’t
@@Starlit43 it just seems like it though, and also i think I was focusing more on how rough it was, so maybe that's y i thought it was running faster in this vid
nah I was at the park the day of the 2022 accident and it hauled ass, much more than the test runs, especially on rolling thunder.
I remember i used to go to sfga a lot between 2014-2019 and one time i had lapped el toro like 11 times in a row and you were one of the ride operators. I never forget a face and now its so cool to see your youtube channel and how far you made it!! Love your videos thanks for feeling my roller coaster addiction 🙈
so cool! man i love the sound of a wooden roller coaster
You have such amazing content and is so amazing to watch! Keep up the great work!
So cool, thanks for sharing!
Nothing quite like the sound of el Toro going down that first drop 🤤
i fr thought it opened for a sec
Hoping it reopens at some point in 2023! Nice video bud!
Awesome footage.
this is super cool to see!
More of this. It really shows a difference side of things.
Awesome hopefully we can ride it this Saturday
It will be closed until the summer time unfortunately
@@ElToroRyanid the park say this or is this an estimate?
love watching you
Loving the Doppler-effect coaster farts!
Hey you should do a problematic roller coasters on X2 at six flags magic mountain
Toro is my #1, I rode it (places an extremely high number of total times I rode because I lost count here) times
never in my entire life have i fully understood “its farting its good”
2:16 Rip rolling thunder
I will second what he said working for Six Flags. I worked 3 seasons at SF Great America unfortunately not in ride ops. I got stuck working in the gift shops oh well. It was still a fun seasonal job to have. My first year working there was when the B&M Batman invert opened.
Hope and pray it can make a 2023 year first test run
I got a whiplash from you saying 2017 was 6 years ago 😭
I got a little too excited about this video thinking it was this year
According to Inside the Magic, Velocicoaster has removed double restraint checks.
They're gonna safety school you again for uploading this 😈
I think they should make the top hat on top thrill Dragster higher.
What is the lift hill speed difference between normal operational and boosted Ryan?
Do they have mechanics assigned to each indvidual ride, or a pool they're drawn from daily?
Good video but could you please clarify what a block zone is?
Sounds cool mang!
Could you please ride some UK coasters they are some of the best in the world.
nice
I love how much swearing there is lmao
Anyone know what song plays during Coaster Idiots videos for a rough coaster? I think he said King Diamond once but I can't figure it out.
Roughest Kia Soul ever i tell you h'what
3:31 are those some of the rolling thunder trains?
yes! for quite a while some of the track was left up
awesome video, but i can't excuse the one-train ops! absurd!!
ElToro Ryan, I’m thinking about taking a 2 month trip to Ohio in order to become an intern at cedar point. I would be doing ride operations and I am wondering, should I do it?
Absolutely!
@@ElToroRyan thanks!
Do both trains run the same or is there a bit of a difference?
There’s usually a slight difference, but it’s more noticeable in colder weather or during the first few cycles of the day. One train will usually run a bit slower than the other. But most of the year once the trains are fully warmed up and running full of passengers, they run the same speed
I’m praying that this will open up again one day!
el toro is testing now
@@boltgaming248 I saw
@@Jakebtw_7 wait you were on great adventure or you saw it on youtube

Ryan Wtf, are those the Rolling Thunder Trains??
Yup! Those were there for years
@@ElToroRyan We could have put one the living room bro! You rock dude
Alright, so I can back Ryan up on working at a park if you are an enthusiast. However, I can not back up some of the parks business practices, or their work ethics.
For me, it was tough. I'd worked at Kentucky Kingdom and just completed my last/final season as a ride op (3rd season) there, after working the past 2 years in food and concessions. It was honestly the best and worst job ever. I now have a better understanding of park operations. However, the shifting of owners and their handling of situations was not what I expected. While I am not under contract, I do respect my former coworkers and wish no ill-will towards them or my supervisors/management.
However, for me to remain healthy, I have chosen not to return. I'd like to keep my health on the high end.
I'm only 16 and last summer I was working at six flags america
Eltoro caught in 4k
Not with Iphone 7s. 2017 was a long time ago even if it's still recent. 😭😭
Oh now we present eltoro caught in ultra hd imax
It did have a horn I could have sworn it did
If I remember right, once the ride sits idle for atleast 15 mins, the horn goes off when the next train starts riding up the lift
pottymouth ryan😆😆
Do you think El Toro will be open for Memorial Day?
bro rlly told enthusiasts to get a job 😭😭😭😭
Can you blame him? He wants efficient ops at his home park.
You have inspired me to become a ride operator but my mom won’t let me drive 2 to 3 hours to a park
Rain makes it questionable though
El Toro runs faster when the tracks are wet! I should have mentioned this
what da song u put 4 da coaster idiots videos ?_?
Is it me or is the lift hill way faster than usual?
It was! The ride has a boost function that can be utilized for test runs that keeps the lift hill fast at the top, just like how the ride ran until about June of 2007 where it began to slow down at the crest of the lift.
I totally understand, that filming as a op is a no go since guests and safety has to come first. On test runs on the other hand, I honestly think differently.
$20 per hour?.... That's more than what I get as a ride engineer...... I'm in the wrong country.
The joys of pre-season testing, a time when we all take bets on which coaster doesn't come back.
can we shrek
You filmed while working!? I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed Son
Rule violator!
First
Had to do it
Bro what? 16-20 for employees at 6F Great Adventure? I make 11 at BGT... SeaWorld hates its employees 💀We gotta unionize like those Disney employees....
you can't become a ride op if you do drugs unfortunately
As long as you pass the drug test and don’t come to work intoxicated, how they gonna know lmao
@@TanookiOshawott64 yeah Can't pass one tho
