I have wanted for a long time for Weird Al to do a Super Bowl halftime show where he sings some parodies and the original artists pop in to sing along.
I'll do you one even better--a 'roast'/retrospective TV special where either some of the original artists he spoofed--or some musically-inclined comedians--sing his hits.
I love how he switches from a Paul McCartney bass to a Gibson Melody Maker, just like they do in the actual video of the original song…Never noticed that attention to detail and just love it!!
In smells like nirvana, he sets up the guitar left handed. In fat, he actually has a fat Asian dancer in denim and a rising Sun bandana to parody the bad skinny Asian dancer in denim in rising Sun bandana. In Amish paradise, during the chorus, he has someone douse water on his face in the shot to parody the originals chorus singers sweaty face in the profile shots. In eat it, near the guitar solo part, when the gangs are opening up the garage doors, the second door won’t open but only two feet and the people have to crawl under it to get out. In both Michael Jackson videos, he actually does Michael Jackson’s choreography almost to a T…but in a jiggly fat suit in fat and super floppy exaggerated in eat it. Dude has so many little things in the background and subtle intricacies in his videos, and came up at the perfect time for parodies. Loaded weapon, Leslie Nielsen, the parodies back then were subtle and clever and you can’t spot everything in a single viewing. Not like today with the “teen movies” where it’s pounded over your head overtly because the writers think you’re stupid. Weird Al did everything right to make it. Except uhf.

Third, he still does the high kick. Lastly, there are few live shows of any kind that are that good. My god, the energy he brought was insane.

I love that Weird Al has always been funny, talented and relevant. Almost 40 years now. He’s never fallen off, or had a meltdown. I’ve never even heard of a time where he was rude to someone. For someone who makes fun of other people’s work for a living, when he does it, it’s seen as an honor, rather than a mean-spirited jab. I know PotUSoA loved this

There had to be several takes of this, and Weird Al had to let this little kid spit in his face multiple times. That is really committing to a joke. That UHF movie is so underrated. If you haven't seen it you need to watch it. UHF is kinda like the old Keenan Wayans movies like Hollywood Shuffle and I'm Gonna Get You Sucka, cause they are all hilarious, but very underrated. I recommend watching Hollywood Shuffle and I'm Gonna Get You Sucka too. Weird Al and Keenan Wayans are both highly underrated. That scene in Hollywood Shuffle where Keenan threatens to pour out the Jheri Curl activator is one of the funniest scenes ever.

Lol I guess ruined is the wrong word. It's just that I can't sing the real lyrics to songs like "Lump" without singing "Run run now Forest run..stop!" So if I ever had to sing the real songs for Karaoke, I'd fail.
