- New 2022 Ford Bronco Badlands and Lexus GX470 off-roading through Moab, Utah. We spent two days in Moab and took these vehicles on some of the most iconic trails in the area, Hells Revenge and Moab Rim Trail. The Bronco had a bit of an advantage over the GX470 with it's built in lockers and 37" tires while the Lexus GX had no lockers and 34" tires. Overall both vehicles did a great job and made it off the trail in one piece!

I love my Metal Tech Rock Slider on my 4 door Bronco, they take a beating and protect the body at the same time.
Airing down those tires significantly more would have helped tremendously for both vehicles!
Umm yeah. Definitely. I have quite a bit of metal tech stuff on my gx470 and it performed extremely well in very similar to worse climbing situations, by just airing down my tires to about 18
The comment every wheeling RUclips video has. I’m sure they know and chose the psi that worked best for them on that day.
Yeah we are aware of this. Just weren't overly concerned at the time because they were quick trail runs and we had to get on the highway shortly after.
@@Metaltech4x4 reasonable response but it’s also easy to have a plan until you actually get to devils crack. You clearly had more ground clearance issues on the crack than you did traction. The reduced PSI may have made it even tougher. Hard to say. Again, easy to have a plan until you’re actually there and see what a beast of an obstacle it can be.
Very true. Needless to say the GX definitely wasn't built up for rock crawling lol
I took my '08 on Fins and Things and realized that it is NOT a rock crawler. Fully capable but I will stick of overloading as well! Cheers!
Fun video. Wish we could have seen more GX footage but it was great to see.
I did Moab Rim on 33’s on my 3rd Gen 4Runner in 2020 and it was a downright bitch. I was glad see a GX470 take a swing at it albeit short lived. That devils crack is a tough obstacle.
I also rolled my GX470 on its side on hells gate because of all the recent sand on it from right after the flooding. It’s not terribly difficult but very technical and more difficult if there is no traction. Thanks for the video, it was fun to continue to relive these awesome trails in the off season.
I blame the driver of GX 470, he can’t drive, it’s not the truck… 😮😊
He is the 1989 Camel Trophy Winner and Top Gear Remote Location Specialist… he knows how to drive
The GX470 can do that no problem. It just needs better equipment. The driver isn't the problem that's for sure. Just need bigger everything. The lifts they sell for these now are crazy.
1500+constant rpm would be your only hope to keep the atrac engaged on the gx. 15psi and a locking dif would help and the gx would go pretty much wherever you want to risk damage; speaking from experience with my gx.
That was a terrifying accident
Why can I not find GX470 on the Lexus website? Only GX460. What are the differences between the 460 and 470?
The 460 took place of the 470.
Those tires are so inflated they're making dog noises
How to kill a car!
