If there’s one thing that this conflict showed, it’s that there’s a big difference between countries that are fighting to destroy another country and a country that is quite literally fighting for its very survival. These Israelis don’t wanna fight. But they have no choice. All these Israelis want to do is live in peace. But so many of the Arab nations want nothing more than its destruction for some of the most unjust reasons imaginable. And even though it wasn’t this particular conflict. During the later, Yom Kippur war, it shows that even when the Israelis are caught napping in the end, they still emerge victorious. Now, whether or not you agree with my sentiments on this frankly is irrelevant.
I'm so glad they opened up with the root cause being Syria’s actions and included Egypt’s aggression and warmongering. Jordan did not want to be involved. Modern interpretations tend to gloss over these facts.
Both Egyptian and Syrian authorities threw tiny Jordan- ian below Israelian paws 🐾. Egypt and Syrian armies weren't well prepared for wars, only they introduced propaganda shows . Both Egyptian and Syrian authorities' internal competitions amongst their's elites served Israelian Victory ✌️ militarily and politically.
As an Israeli, I can say that back then, the Israeli citizens and soldiers were indeed very driven to defend Israel. There are many reason for this, one of the biggest one is that they fought for survival, with fresh WW2 memories in their minds, most of them had nowhere to retreat, and no where to run. Things changed a lot since then, sure we still do have a very powerful modern military force, but the mind set have changed a lot. We can clearly see it with the recent events, while many Israelis return to Israel in order to help and fight, there are actually more Israelis leaving the country. The quality of the regular soldiers dropped by a lot, while the elite divisions are growing stronger. The main problem Israel is currently have with its military, is racism. There is a clear discrimination of Russians, Israeli Arabs, Ethiopians, and other minorities. The elite divisions have a very tiny percentage of these minorities within them, as most are recruited to logistics such as truck drivers and other low quality tasks that the native Israelis refuse to do. And the minorities know it, its just something that everybody knows but nobody talks about. The result is that many young men and women choose to leave Israel before, during, or soon after the military service. Those that stay, usually do so because they have nowhere to go. Most of my friends that served in IDF, are currently living abroad, with their wife and kids. I would of did the same thing, but I developed a severe PTSD when I was young and I am almost completely dependant on the state for survival.
Really great programme on the 6 day war .. Love these documenties where you show land build up with forces .. Makes it extremely interesting. My parents belonged to a private military vehicle group the MVT and a colleague owned a US halftrack did it up in Israeli markings ,added all the kit ammo boxes etc ,and had a laugh when an Israeli tourist said that's not ammo .. It's tined peaches..😅😅
11:21 This is not correct. They only went there once and not twice, like you said. If you calculate 20 minutes of return and 8 minutes of the pass and another 20 minutes to return back to the target, that will make it an hour. They went there once, and they took a long way from the sea to break the radar in Sinai. 11:19
Let me help you with your job,” 40 Israeli combat jets took off from their Negev Desert base as they did each morning. And, as it did each morning, the Israeli formation swept to the west, out across the neutral Mediterranean Sea. To the southwest, Egyptian radar operators noted the regular morning flight and thought nothing of it

The Israeli military had excellent generals and leaders. They had western military technicians and U.S fighter jets. The Arabs are still very weak.
