This was a great listen, thank you. I strongly agree that pilots of micro drones should have to complete a site survey as well. I don't know your feelings on the Prone Pilot Canada app, but I use it every time I fly to make a site survey. I find the app does a really great job on showing the airspaces and aerodromes. It shows all emergency contact numbers and includes customizable checklists and procedures. It also grabs the current NOTAMs and displays the boundaries right on the map. I find this very helpful.

We've had no issues with pilots relying on using apps as drone planning tools and their sole source of checklists as long as they meet CARS 901.23 requirements. Unfortunately at this time, NAV Drone is the only "official" app to our knowledge that allows for controlled airspace flight authorization requests, but there are some good alternatives out there for at least flight planning and checklists.

@@CoastalDrone Yeah, I'm having to use Drone Pilot for my planning and then NAV Drone for my authorization. Hopefully one day NAV Drone with be a complete solution.
