One time spent 7 consecutive hours on the phone talking with several "techs" going thought the tree multiple times and forced to listen to the hold music most of it before i was finally able to get a real tech. who took 30 seconds to think about what i told him and had me delete a program that they had installed with setup. didn't know it was possible feel the way i did when i hung up the second wirless phone of the call.

I used to do work at Crystal River Nuclear Station and going in on nightshift I remember crossing over this bridge. You could look down and see an Alligator watching you going into work. I am pretty sure plant people fed the gator because he got so big the wildlife folks caught him and relocated him.

People don't really use routers anymore. Generally service providers "lease" you a combination modem/router unit aka a gateway. This will connect to incoming fiber, coaxial, or DSL and output wifi and 4 LAN (hardwire) ports. The vast majority of people don't use their own router after the gateway as the wifi is already taken care of. An operating wifi network in the home suggests the gateway functions, and no outages in the area suggests the area is ok. The line to the gateway could be damaged so your gateway may not get blocksync or there could be a provisioning or DOCSIS issue with the gateway. A half decent tech should be able to see this stuff while on the phone, but most tech support don't have a clue. Good luck Robert!
