When Britney did this video with Chase she said she was going for a Devin Townsend feel and I think they nailed it. Amazing song, album, video and reaction. Do Cleanse the Bloodlines next please!

Yes! When I first heared that song I was like "Woah, that's a wall of sound structured by a drummer playing like a machine gun." just like Devin Townsend would do. And that made sense to me, he is canadian, too. Only thing missing was Devin doing a devilish howl and some growled screams! I'm so happy right now, this is awesome!

The first time I saw this video I cried like a baby. I’d been working from home by myself for like 6 months, hadn’t been able to see any of my family, friends or teammates in nearly as long. That last shot at the end paired with the song just hit me so hard.

    • @jordanlindsey4299

I remember listening to the song on spotify and liking it a lot, and then I watched the video and it hit different. The timing of it being months into the pandemic definitely made me wish to be able to see my friends again, and had me pretty emotional by the end.

Britney said this: "Our protagonist, The Immortal, is once again awakened at the beginning of our story, but this time he is in an unknown place: a ship out in deep space. He wanders alone for a time, reflecting on his misdeeds, searching for his new master. Finally, he finds him, and learns that it is the Grandson of The Matriarch, our antagonist. The Immortal had taken The Grandson’s father away some sixty years before, to be sacrificed by The Matriarch in a ritual to achieve immortality (the events from Apex) and now the Grandson seeks revenge against The Matriarch with the aid of her own weapon, The Immortal." -- I haven't wrapped my head around this album yet, though.

  • @almuramoo5554
    @almuramoo5554 3 года назад +17

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
    LEGACY
As I was wandering the world
Trying so hard to find you
To give me purpose in this life I'd lost
And as I learned to forgive you
    For all you'd done
    Destiny opened a door
And showed you weren't the one
    Worth searching for
But as time wore away at my will to carry on
Only vengeance could take what I'd give to see it done
When I finally found the words
The ones I knew would wake you
To take you from her and to make you mine
Somehow all I felt was hollow
    Please tell me why
    Nothing is ever the way
You think that it should be
    It's not the same
As we stand in this place and you wonder who I am
Can't you see in my face I'm his son, his earth and ash
And you are here as servant one last time
Together we will bring her to the light
No more hiding away in your apex again
Not when spending your days as a slave is near an end
I promise this, I vow to set you free
You are the answer, you are my legacy

This song was a huge surprise. I was caught off guard when I heard this track on the album. It sounds so different from their usual songs. So much power but in a subdued kind of way. It's fantastic.
When the video came out, that was another surprise, in the middle of the pandemic, amid all the isolation, it really impacted me emotionally seeing them walking around the city. For the song to end with them coming together and being happy to see each other, I burst out crying. I think this is a magnificent time capsule, reflects a lot of what many of us have been feeling during this whole fucking thing.

It's hard for me to explain but I too had tears in my eyes the first time I listened to this song. I tried to analyze it and I think partly it is the music paired with her soaring voice is almost overwhelming emotionally but in a good way. There are other elements I'm sure contribute to its emotional impact of course. And yes this band deserves that Juno award!

Annihilator is legendary but uta deserved the attention. Newer bands need the support and we need to support them. This is the only way to make metal evolve, change and stay interesting and relevant.
It's funny how I call uta a "new" band while it's actually more than 10 yo. This also shows us how hard it is to be a succesful metal musician. The most popular bands like metallica, maiden, slayer are very old. I love them, I respect them but we need fresh and creative artists.

    Yes! More UTA!!!
Edit: This one took a while to grow on me as it doesn’t seem to have the same vibe as a lot of other UTA tracks with it’s slower pacing. However, the context of the video really felt special. It’s a simple context, walking the city to meet with your friends, but releasing this video during the pandemic made it feel that much more rare and special of an occurrence as many of us weren’t able to do this. I love this video and it made me appreciate the song more than I did without it.

  • @arkb0t379

IMO you saved the best for last, this is certainly my most played song on the album. I just love Brittney's voice in this one, and the upbeat sound and tempo of the song.

Duuuuuuude this video makes me want to organize a post-pandemic meet up with all my close friends. Most of them have moved to Europe, but man it would be rad to just plan getting together like this and sharing a beer.

Lol I lost track of your outro as I caught the background music and thought, "That's Bloody Detox, not heard that in a while.....I need to hear it now" so cheers for that :D
No seriously cheers, I looove that song, and by extension City, so that's a perfect half hour to follow this up with.
Anyway so glad you got around to Legacy and that's awesome to hear about the Juno Awards. I've seen this video and listened to this song so many times but I still get a mote in my eye. Britnay's voice, particularly on those lush choruses just hits your heart perfectly. I love the storytelling in it too, plus you were right tbf, they meet up and have what I can reasonably assume was a beer. Great reaction.

Love the UTA songs! Keep em coming.
Since I don't participate in Twitch and most other online social media I'd like to make a video request here. I know Rammstein's music is well known, but I'd like to see your reaction/review of the pyro elements they incorporate to their live shows from a roadie perspective. Till Lindemann is also a pyrotechnician so I think this helps them set the bar for creativity and safety. Du Hast live performance from Paris and Feuer Frei from Download Festival 2013 are good examples. And of course, any gear you see them using. Thanks in advance if I see it. I know you can't cover everything.

Nice shirt ;) when you finally listen to all the songs in order, the last song Afterlife hits hard. Also the track by track videos for Apex and Abyss are highly recommended. Brittney gives more context to the Immortal story.

I'm so excited to see this reaction! Long intro to this video, but not unexpected 😄
I'm so glad you agree with me on so many things about UTA but also this music video. Outstanding in terms of lyrics videos. When you start to compare it to music videos it falls a little more flat and become a bit old in terms of every shot being slowed-down and monochrome. It would have been nice to have them mix up the speed of shots every now and then to keeps the visuals a bit more engaging. It's like in a song how you can't really have the whole song be a single tempo, or just one long extended chorus - it gets boring if you go too long, so you mix it up with verses and bridges and intros and transitions and instrumental pieces. The same goes for visuals, and it's just the one single critique I have of the video. The music is phenomenal, no complaints here, just bliss.
And yes, I get tears as well listening to UTA, Nightwish or sometimes Jinjer.
So happy they got the Juno! They absolutely deserve it
You called it - they got beers
I'm sorry that Funky's is closed currently, even as lockdowns tend to ease. Never underestimate the power of the local community coming together to save what sounds like a very important community hub. I hope they aren't closed for good

First of all .. Abyss is a fantastic album and I’m glad they are getting what they deserve. For a lyric video this is very creative and I enjoy just seeing the downtown sites. This band just can’t miss 🤟🏻

I find it a bit irksome that more reactive channels do not react to this specific Song, so thank you for being one of the few that did.
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA as to when the new album is to be released, or early track releases???

Seeing the video for the first time in the middle of the pandemic, the moment they all met and laughed and cracked their tins made me so happy, but also reminded me how much I miss that :D
This song though... hearing it on its own like this reminds me that, although it's a more melancholic, laidback number it is pretty cool. I just skip it almost every time I listen to the album because position 3 (not counting the intro) is just the wrong place for a song like that, especially after the even more mellow Through Stars.
On the other hand: Tank, buddy, seriously. Do Tonight We fuckin Ride already.
