- Опубликовано: 18 окт 2024
- On this episode of Ultimate Barrier Testing, we compare the performance of 5.56 NATO to 300 Blackout using 10.5 inch short barrels on 4 different targets. Each target is worth 25 points, for a grand total of 100 points (Plus a bonus round). Whichever cartridge ends up with the highest score will be the winner. Testing was setup at 25 yards. Thanks for watching!

You better not shoulder that short barrel rifle. The ATF is all knowing, all seeing, and everywhere present.
Rofl yeah right. 🤣
So you must be ??? Lol
And if you don't shoulder that sbr, why even bother??? Dude everyone is bracing sbr's, you think people not on camera are shooting with a tube? Lol come on mannnnn
@@waterwizard5598it’s a joke

My favorite gun channel. Short, informative and entertaining
I think the main reason the velocity loss is similar is that you're comparing one of the heaviest .223 to one of the lightest 300blk. Heavier rounds tend to lose less in shorter barrels on account of the higher dwell time and lower powder charge.
Love your humor, mixture of silly and great info/content. This is a great channel! Love those stick bugs - it's been a long time!
I love both of my shorty builds. 300 blk for night stand gun and 556 for truck gun
How big is your nightstand?? 🤣

stick bug at the end was the highlight of the video for me
I'm glad we could help out :)
Demon Frogs are our friends!
GREAT VIDEO!!! What we needed, THANKS
I love you for protecting the cricket. Legend.
This is how the ATF expects you to shoot an AR pistol 😂
I have been waiting for you to do a short barrel test. THANKS.
Shirley, you missed your opportunity to say "Thanks for stickin around"
First time in about 10+ years on RUclips and I am actually first to a video. Wow...
Do 8.6 BLK please!!!!!! Love you Banana.
You can't afford the ammo pal
@@allanhood4397 I can't afford anything. I don't currently own firearms. Haha. Just really interested in how the round stacks up in a fun video on ballistics since physics and ammo types are something I am super interested in.
It is on the way!
@@_aiviator_ I seen a video with 8.6 bo testing barrel twist rate. And the barrel that had 1:3 twist rate was way more devastating on the gel test. Pretty interesting I thought!!
@@bananaballistics HOLY FUCK LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Really enjoyed, love these test, always good info. Thanks
I put together a .300 blackout sbr earlier this year and I love it.
77 grain 556 in general has a bit more recoil lol
My dude out here making sure he doesn't get his dog shot.
It was pretty cool seeing how much bigger all the 300blk holes were, especially in that wood. Wow that chewed up a lot
5.56 for super sonic
300 blackout for sub sonic
this is actually funny because I just bought 2x 13.9" foxtrot mike uppers, one in 223/556 and the other in 300 blackout
201s? How do they run?
Thanks for the video
The true gem of 300blk out of a short barrel is being able to suppress it and still retain good performance from a short barrel.
Compare energy loss, not velocity:
Expansion volume matters (or more exactly expansion ratio) So, a larger caliber is able to extract more energy from a short barrel than a smaller caliber, running similar case volume at similar peak pressure.
Well, you just made us all live part of our childhood over !
I'm choosing the 5.56. In a SHTF scenario I need a short barreled secondary gun, and I'd prefer it to shoot the same bullet as my primary, to prevent accidentally putting the wrong mag in the wrong gun. 5.56 overall would be a far better choice for me.
Banana! A test of 5.56x45 vs .25-45 sharps would be awesome! I know you probably don't have an AR chambered in it, but the one and only thing you need is the barrel. Takes the same mags, buffer, BCG as a regular 5.56 AR.
I would love to see the difference in performance.
I liked and subscribed the first time I seen one of your videos
@@ericharris5299 - Same. Great channel! 🎈🥳🎈
Great video thanks
Need some 6ARC next!
Your scenarios are the best lol
Muzzle flash at night is why I prefer 300bo in a shorty
Time to paint those wings....don't want you getting tennis! ❤
merci 👍
VERY EXCITING🎉
EVIL STICK BUG NEXT? 😂 Impressed with the performance of the 5.56.👍
The 5.56 is better than the 300BLK with a barrel that long and at that range. The 300BLK shines if you are comparing them with a 7"-9" barrel at 100-200 yds. The 5.56 is probably better in any barrel length at 50 yds and under.
Good video but 55gr 5.56 would probably be a totally different story even in a short barrel
In a short barrel platform, the 5.56 would not be my choice, but rather the DS Arms Para model based on the South African FAL Para with a folding stock and shorter barrel chambered in 7.62 NATO.
Why not just get a 13" barrel AR10 build? The FAL is outdated. DS Arms has QC issues.
Demon frogs and no braces? Scary Halloween episode.
Why did you pick 77gr vs 115gr? Why not the more common bullet weights for each caliber?
Yeah, that was my first thought as well. I think 147 grain for .300 BLK would be a much better comparison
22 Creedmoor vs 6.5 Creedmoor
McGoogles is me name!
Never in a million years did I think I'd see a Max Keeble reference in this comment section.
@@Zach_D I’m here all week!
I'm still waiting to see the black tip in a win mag.
Great highly scientific video Double B. ❤
You are doing exceptionally well. Over 150k subs already! Congrats! 🎈🥳🎈
I think the 556 won ALL these tests. It hit the steel harder after the juice.
But I'll submit to whatever Terry says. 😒
Someone out there made 90 grain 300blk. Cant remember who, but it went fast.
Hey could you test brenneke black magic slugs? It's about time for some shotgun content eh?
Some shotgun stuff will be coming! Can’t guarantee the brenneke slugs, but there will be slugs.
You think that 300 blkout 115 acc round would be good for deer out of a 16 inch barrel?
If you're going to neuter your velocity by having a short barrel, might as well have a bigger bullet. 5.56 gets all its potency from speed - you take that away, you render it pointless.
With expanding bullets, that 5.56 is deadly at any velocity.
That's why you get the Sig .277 with a 13" barrel like i did...velocities are still crazy high for an sbr.
Saying an sbr is pointless because you're losing 100's of feet per second is a stretch. A 5.56 or .300 would kill from a 8 inch barrel.
I agree with with the sentiment but they were still over 2000 fps with the short barrel so thats still well within lethal parameters.
People have a huge hard on for 556, it doesn't matter 😂
@@waterwizard5598my 7.5” 556 is sufficient 😅
Anytime I try to splatter jugs, I get punched...... I still don't really get the "pistol" versions of ARs etc. Smaller carbines are JUST bigger, and every inch counts in barrels too. I guess I'd just rather have a washtub sized hollowpoint headed down range than a .556 round, and be able to tuck it back into a holster inside my shorts. Now, carbine form and longer, hells yeah. I GET those. Often coyote gun use here for 'em.
5.56 v 5.45x39 please!
Oh yeah
Love how careful you were to not shoulder the "pistols" 😂 cant be too cateful on youtube
Shut up fudd. No one cares
That’s what I’m thinking. The rules seem to change by the day lol!
Why not compare 7.62x54R Vs 7.9x57 Mauser ( 8x57)?
I HAVE DEMON FROGS IN MY YARD😳😳😳
9mm pistol carbine ammo test please :)
Add the wallet test..show the cost and availability...in truth you got to remember if got great power but can't find or it cost 3 x as much ..might be less is more
Since toilet guy thinks he knows so much
you should make him perform some of his testing.
Toilet bowl penetration testing? Same with the toilet tanks? Even have both filled for the dramatic splash test.
Nice awesome
Theyre finally releasing a .300 blk krink, i might get one now. Cant stand 5.56 aks though, just useless to me
A lot of people like me say that all the 300 blackout is just a 223 that's tapered to shoot a 300 win mag round that's all it basically a 300 blackout that's all it is and the reason why is 300 blackout is so quiet is because it's such a big bullet and it's a small shell casing 😒nothing special really I have made several 300 blackout ammunition for my 300 blackout handgun that I keep in my truck and only thing that I do is I take a 223 shell casing taper it and then put one of my 300 win mag light loads in there and it cycles it so perfectly except my loads are a lot hotter
Can we take a vote on never hearing the words “baby pinky” together ever again?
Also, maybe cut the use of “pinky” down like one or two per video?
😁
@MikeInOregon - I vote against you. I like the "pinky" test. It is similar to the OG's Danger Show finger wiggle and that stays!!! 😡
I’ve been scrounging around but can’t decide for the life of me what gun I would want. What caliber would remain in the states longer 300 blackout or 7.62x39? Say 30 years from now?
@@Rocksteady713 - You are assuming the USA will be here in 1 year. Things are crazy. The Left wants us dead. They HATE our Constitution.
Why no brace? 0:35
16" sks vs 20" sks . End the discussion once and for all . I really thought 300 BO was tons better out of a pistol . Guess I've been listening to too many salesman
When is Midway sending pork ribs or something that's realistic? A .22 may not dent steel but it'll still kill a person. Or even gel but testing different kinds of ammo within the same caliber ?????
👍
Bra.... do some movie preview voice work.
No need to grind! :)
Someone loan this guy a 220 swift.
That’s it!!! 22-250 vs 22 swift! And what if the frog is behind an antique tube TV?
Dude put your gel behind the wood and behind the steel I know it will get poop in your gel
Where are your braces? 🐓
Where’s your videos?
Not a pistol😅
Will you be able to afford a pistol brace if I like and subscribe?
Heavier bullets perform better in shorter barrels because they build pressure faster because they stay in the barrel longer. Lighter cartridges zip through the barrel so you need a longer barrel to build that pressure
If that's true then how is 6.8x51 SIG able to build up to 80k psi in a 12" barrel?
I saw a subsonic 300 go thrugh bullet prof glass once, idk how but it did.
Talking out of your ass, young lady
The first view LOL
