I followed video Parts 1 & 2. I tried the reverse to put it all back together but the buttonhole function got stuck between steps 2 and 3. It wasn't until I discovered this video that showed the pin on that one little piece had to slide through a channel I had missed. Thank you for this! My thrift store 930 is now working like no other machine I have ever had. This is truly an awesome machine and thanks to you, it works!
@@MasinskiKutak I certainly did succeed! I bought this machine for $40 at a second hand/thrift store. It came with a foot control, a case with a broken decorative panel and the 000 presser foot. The knob to drop the feed dogs was frozen and would not turn. I borrowed a power cord so I could find out if the machine actually ran. It did! I watched your Bernina 930 videos parts 1 and 2 and followed those. I found the reason for the frozen feed dog drop knob, which was gummed up old oil. One drop of kerosene released that! I cleaned all the broken thread bits, dust and the lint from fabric out of the machine as well as oiling and greasing the spots you showed. This machine runs like new!! Thanks SO MUCH!!
Hi - your Bernina 930 posts were so valuable! But now I have a problem with a Bernina 707. The plastic/nylon gear at the top of the vertical shaft is cracked. What is the best way to remove/replace this gear? I know this is a 930 video posting but if you can help me that would be wonderful. Thanks! @@MasinskiKutak
Unfortunately, it's hard to help, it's quite a complex job and a separate video is needed to explain everything as well as the replacement procedure. ruclips.net/video/tx2YsYyTKjE/видео.html
Thank you for this video. I have been cleaning and oiling a 930 I recently bought. It was extremely dirty inside, with very old oil. I know it needs a new capacitor, so I haven’t tried to run it. I found out some things I didn’t know from watching your video. I thought I was finished, but now I plan to go back and work on it some more with this new information. I really appreciate this. What kind of grease do you use?
For lubrication I use oil for sewing machines, the grease depending on the situation, metal to metal can be ordinary workshop grease, metal and plastic I recommend synthetic grease. The use of grease on sewing machines is a somewhat controversial topic, people write all sorts of things. Use grease very little, mainly use oil for sewing machines.
Thanks for this! But now my machine is stuck on the bobbin-wind feature. I can't get it to switch over to sewing when I close the bobbin lid on the top of hte machine. Any advice?
Hi Jodi Did you "fixing" something on your Bernina or did it happen by itself,? do you have a service manual: www.masinskikutak.com/2021/09/bernina-service-and-adjustment-vintage.html

@@fredericklearman9692 Well done, great job, it's an extra good sewing machine, give it a thorough lubrication and it will work almost silently 👍👍
