This music is so beautiful.💕
The most perfect piece of music ever composed for a film. Perhaps the most perfect music ever composed to evoke a mood, especially of childhood past, period.
How could this score not win an Oscar??
Tremendous Interpretation!!!!!
I was fortunate to have met Elmer Bernstein around the late 90's, through Cinequest Film Festival, at San Jose State University Concert Hall, where he was interviewed onstage by KFJC DJ Robert Emmett, host of a uniquely special soundtrack show for about 30 years now. He signed my CD of his complete score of this, which he conducted with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, saying how pleased he was with that recording.
Bob Orrahood found it! This music is sublime, ethereal, childly angelic! Great find brother Bob!
Sweet memories if watching this movie with my mom as a child. Moat beautiful soundtrack.
Very close to the original score beautifully played
A committed performance. The opening motif, played in the treble clef only, is sublime. Bernstein was a genius.
Fantastic... Great performance... Excellent job
Elegantly and professionally performed!
Very nice piece. Very relaxing.
Very tastefully performed, and with such polish. So easy to go overboard on this one. Sincere.
Elmer should have been awarded the Oscar for Mockingbird, but sadly his movie scores always got overlooked, except for Thoroughly Modern Millie which I think was just a nod to say we know you are there ! The music that Elmer created over the years , with Jerry Goldsmith,John Williams, John Barry etc will never be bettered in my humble opinion!
totally agree
A stellar performance by this orchestra and conductor! A good start, with the main title to this, although It would be great to have a suite from this, if not the full score. I know that I, and many others would pay to attend a live performance. There is a suite from this on RUclips, with the L.A. Philharmonic from 2013, conducted by David Newman, not John Williams, as listed, according to an astute music fan in the comments section.
Bob Orrahood Me 2 in a second! This music ascends high!
Wow!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Opened many minds tonight

this is an amazing song . where do u get the piano and orchestra sheet music from
A piano solo edition is available from Musicnotes.com
Why did the opening piano theme use so much sustain pedal? Ruined the toy piano sound intended.
Elmer Bernstein said of the opening piano notes, that his intention was to evoke the sound of a child playing single notes on a piano, so yes, perhaps a bit less sustain pedal might have been better here.
