I can’t hear this version of “Spring Day” without tears leaping out of my eyes. The rawness and urgency in their voices. I’ve watched this Tiny Desk at least 30 times at this point since it dropped, and that emotional response is the same each time. God, I’m so glad I found them when I did. There really is no one like them.
BTS is a once in a lifetime act; They are true legends. The best artist in my lifetime. NO ONE could replicate BTS. And I am a 49 years old ARMY.

This version of Spring Day, in my opinion, really gives a deeper emotional response than the official Spotify version. I will always go for this video if I need a sad song for something haha. In all seriousness, though, this version is incredible, I agree :)
J-Hope amazes me with his vocal versatility. He can sing soft and now we know he can rock 🤘🏼👿🤘🏼 out as well as rap. Hobi is a triple threat!

I effing love them … I love when jungkook harmonizes with the rappers or ad libs for them…. And love me a hopekook harmony sesh… golden maknae and golden hyung really showing out !
Sometimes it's so nice to see them performing in an intimate space without choreography. I can really appreciate how good they are singing together. And we should pay more attention to the ghost band.
Yes! I adore the choreo but without that you really get to focus on how talented they are as singers. Some of the guitar and bass work by the band was amazing!

You know what is good about this tiny desk is , when I see new reactors watch it first they are in amazement of how well they sing live but in turn , turn around show it to their friends who also become fans just by watching this. The other thing at this is what I got from this when I first watched it is how distinct each individuals voices are yet when they sing together they blend extremely well without actually sounding the same. BTS are really only a few group I believe can do this. I find in many case when groups sing as a whole unit you can hear their different voices which is fine but its great to still be able to hear each member while still sounding like a blended unit if that makes sense. Im glad they didn't make each member change to sound similar if not the same as each other, otherwise to me they wouldn't be the same BTS I love. Everyone should watch this if they doubt anyone one of the members ability to sing. Thanks for the reaction.
Hi John! Glad you found this Tiny Desk performance of the boys! This performance was so impressive that I got hooked on watching their content and became an A.R.M.Y (mom)...I am 48 y.o. and A.R.M.Y. since August 2020.
I am 62 yrs old and I found them about 2 years ago as well. The pandemic was bad and I was struggling, working in healthcare. I stumbled on BTS and they just lifted me up. I've never looked back and I'm proud to be ARMY!
Thanks John for your genuine reaction. I love this TDC because it’s no frills,like you said, and it really highlights their natural talents. I wish they would do more like these. Btw, their outfits are from the Dynamite era (disco pop). They had not done this concept before. Usually Army can tell an era by what they wear during their concerts and promotions.
I love this performance! I couldn’t even tell you how many times I’ve seen it but I never get tired of it. Fun fact…when J-Hope & Jungkook harmonize in Save Me they don’t usually do that. J-Hope asked JK to harmonize with him (it’s in a behind the scenes video) when they were sitting there on stage.
I feel proud that they sing in their native language. So beautiful & confidence voice💜
The version of Spring Day they performed is called “Spring Day (Brit Rock Ver.)”
I think it was for one of the Festas and was also featured in their documentary, “Break the Stage” IIRC. Bummer that there’s no official release of the song on streaming services

I have watched this perfomance SO MANY times...and everytime I am amazed how freaking good it is. The amount of talent these 7 men have is crazy!! After so many years I still can't listen to Spring Day without crying. As soon as Hobi starts singing, tears come running out. I am still waiting for the day that Hobi will officially be added to the vocal line. Also a big thumbs up for the band!!

The vocalists really stand out in Thai video. Every single aspect of this is just so beautifully put together into an amazing performance. It was such a comfort when it came out, so thank you BTS for healing us in the difficult times we have and for showing us how to love ourselves 💜
I didn't know the second two songs when i first watched this, and the vocals that stood out most to me/gave me chills, were hobis parts!! He sounds sooo smooth, especially when he harmonises with jk in save me and spring day 😭😭 ethereal

This was amazing. The band just SLAUGHTERED that, especially the guitar, bass and drums. They sounded wonderful, and I'm so amused at how the dancers especially couldn't stay seated. "Spring Day" is hard to hear - always brings tears - but in that context, it was perfect.
They have so many wonderful MVs that some of them get pushed to the side...such as LIGHTS and STAY GOLD and HOME . All three of these have positive uplifting vibes and are worth your time and consideration!!!
They are all on the schedule. John has 9 years worth of content to catch up on all while going about his "real world" responsibilities so it is going to take time to get to them, but I promise I haven't forgotten about these gems.
Ahhh I love this reaction John! 😭 I can feel that you can't contain that excitement as soon as the vid begins! This is my most fave out of all their pandemic live performances, along with the FESTA room live and Dear Class too. These showcased how much of a great vocalists and performers they are! 💜

Omg this was so cute, they had me dancing and sing along to the three songs, the choice of songs sent e from being happy to sad and i went in a roller coaster of emotions.
DynAMIte had me singing and dancing along and i so wanted to be that vinyl record so badly.
Save Me had me in my feelings as i was smiling along, swaying and also Jimin, Tae and Jungkook dancing along to the chorus had me laughing so much.
Spring Day i had a tear in my eye thru that song and the vocals during it had me in my feelings so badly.
And dont get me started on their clothes, i mean Jiminie OMG i was just speechless and on a side note every members english has improved so much im just in love with it, also i love it when they perform with a live band as it just gives off another kind of vibe and its the best when they perform with a live band.

Another amazing performance. Their voices are so clear and beautiful. The band just crushed it. I love how they just can’t sit still even while sitting down. I can’t pick a favourite but like you, Spring Day brings me to tears every time, especially since this was their way of comforting us during the pandemic. The fashion is definitely from Dynamite. I rocked a similar suit that Hobi’s wearing with high platform shoes in 1973/74. I looked like a flaming Pumpkin 🎃 I think, lol 😂. Ah to be 17 again. Great reaction John. 🙏💜🇨🇦

I can't believe I'm actually watching a video you posted the same day! I discovered you when you interviewed WYG2S and have been busy binging your videos. I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your genuine reactions, musical insights as a musician yourself, as well as thoughtful and provoking insights into the lyrics. This is an amazing community you've created with the ARMY Bots (adorable name), and hopefully I can catch one of your Lives someday. What you and Taylor said about ARMY finding their community when they're surrounded by other ARMYs is so true. People at work ridicule me, a 39 yo, for being into a "boy band," especially a South Korean one, and when I try to explain why, they blow me off. It gets disheartening and lonely a lot of times, but seeing how much love is within the fandom is really comforting, even if all I'm doing is reading through the comments. Thank you and thank you ARMY!

You have a friend in ARMY! Never forget that. No one understands me either (I'm 62 yrs old) but I find that every once in a while, I run across ARMY somewhere. When I bought a new computer keyboard, I got one that lights different colors. I said to the sales girl that I would probably keep it on purple for BTS. She said, "omg, are you army?!". We talked for about 5 more minutes, about our favorite videos, Run BTS, etc. Keep you chin up, your heart open and remember you are appreciated!

Dear class of 2020 is another one to watch. They each speak (commencements) & perform. MTV unplugged which includes 4 songs I believe -Fix You which you already reacted to. 2021 Festa BTS Room Live. Permission to Dance at the UN is fun. A Butterfly Getaway & Jimmy Fallon/Tonight Show October 2020 where they had a different song each night. These are one of a kind performances from them.
I love this performance from them and it was definitely one of the videos that got me hooked to BTS. This was also the video that introduced me to Spring Day 💜💜💜

This tiny desk concert aired about a month after Dynamite was released. Maybe a little less than that. This was September, and Dynamite was released August 21, 2020 (I remember cause it was my daughter’s birthday). So it was in the midst of the pandemic, and everything had to be done remotely. BTS was just trying to keep their spirits up by keeping ARMY’s spirits up, and they were using the song dynamite to do it. So there was a lot of disco themed stuff for a couple of months until the BE album was released in November.

I love everything about this performance, right down to their hair colours!
I'm not a very observant person, but even I noticed how tremendously good the guitar player was.
But my favourite part of this performance is all the ad libs, both in the singing and speaking parts, right down to JHope's 'Pew!' at the very end. This is what made the performance so uniquely BTS for me (along with the dancing). 💜

This was my first ever BTS experience. Dynamite got my attention and Save Me sealed the deal.
I have always loved "Spring Day" and "Dynamite" is always a crowd pleaser but this was the performance that made me a fan of "Save Me". Prior to hearing on "Tiny Desk" I had just been rather blasé about the song itself but once I heard this rendition of it, it completely transformed how I saw this song! Thanks for the reaction once again! I can't wait for the next one! 💜💜

A lovely, genuine reaction- as always. Yes, this was recorded during the pandemic and they all have their Dynamite mv hair. I hadn't thought about their choice of songs for TDC before even though I have watched it multiple times. But you are absolutely right these three songs have a special meaning for Army during the pandemic: Dynamite- keep your spirits up, Save Me- you are always there for us and Spring Day- I miss you. So special.💜
There is always choreography even when there isn't. There are a couple of members that this is more true for, but they all seem to have a hard time sitting still when there is music playing.
My favorite songs were Dynamite and Spring Day though I love all 3, I think those 2 are the opposite of one another

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad you liked this one. The clothing is Disco for Dynamite. Dynamite is a disco pop song. it's modern but has some old style in there. They gave the song( Dynamite) to us to give us positive energy during the pandemic and we felt it! Army and other ppl felt it. I have watched so many reactions. It's a beautiful thing to see smiles on ppl's faces and their confusion why they feel happy. =0p About Dynamite they literally decided to do this song on a whim in the middle of the pandemic because they wanted to cheer people up in such hard times! ^^ They're very hardworking, and have spent their careers writing songs about all kinds of things, like all kinds of different kinds of love (they are very adamant about promoting self love) , heartbreak, societal issues, mental health, following your dreams, helping others, and just a lot of cool stuff that's important to them, and things a lot of people are afraid to touch on, that they will dive head first into. They're also all very down to earth, and very funny. ^^ BTS got this song from 2 USA writers who have written for the Jonas brothers. The song, written by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar and produced by Stewart, is an upbeat disco-pop song with elements of funk, soul, and bubblegum pop, and takes influence from 1970s music-it features snapping handclaps, echoing synths, and celebratory horns. They thought the song would fit BTS. BTS liked the song. They tried making it Korean but they liked the Eng version better so they left it as is. No one expected it to blow up. BTS was not trying to win America. They just wanted to comfort army!
Love Save Me. It's an old song of theirs and this was a real treat because many Army heard it for the very 1st time. This was a different version to the original. =0] Pls watch Class of 2020. This song and 2 others are performed. It's so beautiful. Save me is a special song. It echo's for me the time I was battling cancer. I told everyone I was fine but inside I was praying to be saved. I wished so much so hard to live. I love this song so so much!!! Also, the partner song to it is I'm Fine. There is a live were u see them both back to back its just wonderful. The choreo is lovely too for both of them. Spring Day is both melancholy and hopeful. I love it too. Since its release it has never left the charts. We call it the Queen! =0] FYI JHope is a sub vocal. He has a lovely voice. JK is a sub rapper. He is dang fast when he wants to be. 0.0 My 1st time hearing Spring Day was on Class of 2020. They did 3 performances. I loved both 2 new songs on 1st listen. It took me a month or more to actually watch the MV lol. Than I watched the explanation and was shoock. Later I watched the 2nd explanation by Italian Army and dang. All the members are actually not fluent in Eng. I bet they practiced hard for this. RM is the only one fluent. JK is the 2nd best at Eng because he is learning it and does a lot of covers. The rest improved but they still have a ways to go, lol. I always have a good time listening to this. JK is the main singer for a reason he steady af! JK can harmonize with any member perfectly. He so cool. Jimin sounded like an angel! They all killed it. Dynamite was given to Army during pandemic to give us energy, Save Me they gave to us because we are all struggling and need to be saved and they acknowledge this with this song, UwU, and Spring Day gives us hope but also lets us know that we lost ppl at this time and we some of us are still in shock and grieving. Perfect song selection! I expected nothing less from them. Kings! This is why we have Tiny Desk Concert Army! When I watched this live I cried. They touched my heart with their caring. They missed us so much and we them. I hope they do another Tiny Desk i think that's a goal. Save me was new for me when i watched this the 1st time. The dancers always struggle to sit still I think, hence Jimin and JHope up. Also V. I think JK would have been the same ordinarily but didn’t maybe because he is generally quite central to a lot of songs and this is one take so needed to focus.
It’s a wonderful sample of their vibe and capabilities. So glad you finally got to watch it.

I saw this video when it first came out, and we were still in lockdown at that time, and I remember how just seeing them and hearing them sing brought so much joy during such a hard time. Also, I can never watch a performance of Spring Day without tears either. What an amazing "tiny concert". Yeah, Spring Day made me cry as usual. I just love it. They all sound amazing in their way; each member has their own unique voice and it is so satisfying to be able to hear all that. Jin's falsetto...blows me away.
