I just love how Holly quickly responded by telling the girls to get out of the room so that they wouldn’t have to hear the fighting and so they would also be safe. She’s such a responsible mother on Dance Moms. That’s the main reason why she’s my favorite on the show, it’s because she’s responsible and cares about both her daughter and all the other girls.
Holly not only got the kids out, but she shepherded the Hylands to safety. Proud of this Dance Mom’s levelheadedness

The kids truly were traumatized so many times, this being one of them. I also felt bad for Maddie crying but did you see the other girls? Complete shock, empty and scared stares... this is almost a stage above crying. Maddie crying every time a fight happens perfectly illustrates how she isn't normally treated that way and used to such behavior. The other girls are so used to this toxic environment and their parents as well as themselves being part of it that they just freeze... poor girls, including Maddie. I love Dance Moms but this episode left me feeling so bad plus the team really changed forever. Kelly's reaction wasn't great, but to be fair, Abby coming closer and closer with that biting motion, getting her away from me would have been my first instinct as well. You never know how far Abby will go and you could literally see the mental illness in her eyes
I’ve always thought Kelly acted in self defense. Abby’s action of lunging at Kelly and attempting to bite her is intentionally placing Kelly in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury.
This fight literally changed dance moms forever. Dance literally didn’t feel the same without Kelly, Brooke and Paige.

@@conformality Chloe and Christi left ALDC a year before this because they didn’t want to sign Abby’s contract with really strict rules but they were still contracted to do dance moms one more season. They wanted to leave a year before. Chloe just pretended to be a part of ALDC this season.
Oh yea and they left because Abby mocked Chloe’s illness which caused her to have a sunken eye. The producers cut the audio out and replaced it with an argument Abby had with the Apples dance instructor: “you’re done. She’s washed up.” And Chloe heard her say the truth from behind a curtain which shattered her.

watching this fight after listening to kelly and christi’s new podcast… it’s incredibly disheartening to see how miserable one awful teacher can make two genuinely delightful and incredibly kind women. the way they speak to each other and about their children, they’re incredible human beings. and this show (and abby) purposefully provoked them to make them evil. makes me sick to my stomach!

Notice how Holly was the first person to yell for the girls to get out not only for their safety but also for their sanity. I feel so bad for the girls. Honestly there's a big debate on who cried I'm sorry. Some say it was Maddie because doing her duet with Kalani was a moment that seemed to instigate the fight. Some ALSO say that it was Brooke who cried "I'm sorry" because she was so afraid and nervous to speak up for herself, and that's another reason Abby & Kelly fought. Either way, my heartbreaks for all the girls, even Maddie & Brooke.

Watching the kids do their group dance after this fight was a cruel definition of “the show must go on”. You could tell their hearts and minds weren’t on the stage that day. Even Maddie’s expressions were off. The poor girls looked so mechanical in that performance. Made me slightly sick seeing Abby get so excited when they were announced as winners, almost like the trauma of that day just hadn’t happened 😕
