I remember crying to this song, after chasing after the fireworks show in Magic Kingdom. My friends and I judt got off of Space Mountain, but when I heard the specks of fairy dust sparkling across the princess' castle, I knew I had to see it with my own eyes. It was drizzling then -- I only had my cap as my makeshift umbrella. But I didn't care. It felt like a coming-of-age movie, where I rushed through Tomorrowland to arrive at the bridge crowded with parents holding their strollers, friend groups with their phones shoved in front of their faces. I finally found a perfect spot to see the fireworks, just a few inches across the ledge. I listened to Rapunzel and Flynn Rider belt out "I See The Light," Hercules yearn for victory through "Go The Distance," and the magical Disney theme song at the start of every movie that played on our old DVD player back home. I couldn't care about anything else -- this is what it meant to truly live.

I was part of the Disney College Program Spring 2020, and I worked Adventureland/Glow merchandise at Magic Kingdom. I mostly had night shifts, so I was listening to this show almost every night (I even was able to watch it sometimes!) Since my program got cut short due to the pandemic, listening to this makes me so sad, but also grateful that I had the chance to watch this show very often. It's now so bittersweet to listen to.
It’s amazing how powerful music can be, and how it freezes into our core memories where it holds events and times of our past. I hope one day you can return to Disney hand and hand with your loved ones to enjoy Happily Ever After and heal the wounds of your past
I saw this last night for the first time with a friend who was an annual passholder. It was the last day he could use his pass and we decided to finish the day watching this. What a show! When the narration started with "...And so our journey comes to an end...", I honestly started sobbing because it made me realize I won't be doing trips with him for a while...
I just cried while listening to this. I don't think I've cried this much during the finale of Fantasmic. I haven't even seen Happily Ever After in person yet. Man, the Disney magic. Gotta love it, especially during these times.
it’s amazing trust me. i went just before it got shut down due to quarantine. my trip was march 3 to the tenth and it was beautiful!! i cried i couldn’t take it. it was so beautiful.

the new fireworks show that's replacing HEA had better be the best thing Disney has ever made for them to be taking HEA away so soon despite all of the love this show has received
"And so our journey comes to and end." That quote really got me. Happily Ever After is like a banger show at Magic Kingdom. I am so glad it's still there today. ❤
Such a wonderful show that was retired too early. My heart is broken, and I can't imagine that any show will hold the same power or place in my heart as what HEA does
I honestly hope they'll reevaluate their decision to retire this so soon. Hell, I want to start a petition for them to extend this for at least 6 months after the 50th Anniversary Celebrations end!!
[UPDATE] I think we all now Happily Ever After will end on September, 29. But I have good news!! HAPPILY EVER AFTER WILL BE BACK JULY 1ST!! FOR ALL OF YOU TO ENJOY! :) So get happy! Hope you have a Magical Day.
@@shellistanton5643 That seems possible. Judging by the negative reception of Enchantment, HEA will come back. But only after the anniversary celebration.
Words cannot express how magical this show was and how much I miss it listening to this soundtrack. Having seen the new 50th anniversary show, it's good, but it simply doesn't have the heart that this show and Wishes had.
I agree! Sure, Enchantment isn't as good as this masterpiece we're listening to now, but it is definitely NOT THE WORST, especially since they added a good prologue with Walt in August 2022!
my program got cut short due to corona :((( they sent us home a month ago and i literally cannot get over it, i felt so at home there,,,, i need to go back :/
17:17 “we all have the courage to flyyyyyyyyyyy” that gets me ever damn time! I remember when I was there in 2018 and everyone started screaming at that part right through the finale lol.
“And they all lived happily ever after, each of us has a dream, a hearts desire, it calls to us and when we’re brave enough to listen and bold enough to pursue that dream will lead us on a journey to discover who we are meant to be all we have to do is look inside our hearts and unlock the magic within.” Insanely good prologue
The "Friendship" segment is my absolute favorite part! Whoever arranged this does such an awesome job at making these songs from completely different decades by completely different composers flow together so seamlessly. It is so so cool, especially at 7:55 , just the notes of "You've Got a Friend in Me" combined with "Bare Necessities" so flawlessly, AND there's bits of "Hakuna Matata" in there too, it's just so goooood.
“I will face the world, fearless proud and strong” is my favourite line. Whenever I’m scared of a situation, I think of that and push myself forward. This is THE best nighttime show Disney has ever done, sad to soon see it go but have high hopes for the replacement.
I have been listening to this soundtrack since I left Disney world , this is like my life right here. Disney is like my second home I never wanna leave and I histerically cried because I was so thankful that I went for my birthday! But I cant stop listening to my this song I'm getting impatiant lol bc I'm going again soon! But its parts of the song that make me Invision me crying again watching the castle ! Lol and i rlly wanna hury up and get there
Everytime I listen to this, it's makes me so happy and free, but also pity Disney haters, because they'll never be able to understand how much light, joy, and compassion this kind of magic brings to this dark world ✨
And so, our journey comes to an end. But yours continues on. Grab ahold of your dreams and make them come true. For you are the key to unlocking your own magic. Now go. Let your dreams guide you. Reach out and find your Happily Ever After.
So overjoyed this is coming back to the parks! I was hired as a cast member in magic kingdom and worked my first day the first week this debuted and left about a month before it was announced to be retired. It holds such a special place in my heart as I worked this time almost every night and have so many memories attached to this song. Words can barely describe how happy I am it’s coming back 😊🥹😇☺️ I can’t wait to go see it again
Grab a hold of your dreams and make them come true. For you are the key to unlocking your own magic. Now go, let your dreams guide you. Reach out and find your happily ever after.... Gets me every time😭❤️
Honestly the best! We are “that” family that sings the whole firework show while standing in the crowds! Our trip for May has been postponed to September due to the shutdown. Until then I’m singing at the top of my lungs in the shower. I know I will be extremely emotional seeing this in person again. see you real soon ❤️🏰
I'm so upset this firework show is gone! It was the best thing that has ever happened to me! My husband purposed to me in the middle of this song and then we got married in Disney and we watched the fireworks that night
I am absolutely heartbroken over Disney’s decision to remove happily ever after. This show means so much to so many people. I don’t know why they would do this.
I don’t know why they removed wishes. That’s what I grew up with and many other people and it was very sad and didn’t make sense at the time to replace it. They are now doing it with HEA and the new show will be special to just as many people.
The happily ever after show just hits different… it’s so amazing and emotional! And when I hear the song, I just remember how happy I was when I went to Disney and saw the show at night ❤️
I used to guard the ropes to the fallout zone during this show each night. My heart bursts with memories and love hearing the soundtrack!!! I can even remember the specific fireworks for each section. I will love this FOREVER!!!!
So I used to work at the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, so I heard this song and caught glimpses of the fireworks every night I worked. Listening to this brings back some great memories. Plus, you just cannot beat the “I will please the gods” key change in Go the Distance. Not even the official soundtrack has that part. Anyways, thank you!
This MUST be brought back. I had my first kiss to this song in the finale with my now husband. It means the world to me, this show and song. It must come back.
I hope this show wasn’t the peak of Disney end of night shows. The pyrotechnics to the visuals were top notch, but who ever arranged the music to this show needs a lot more recognition because it’s just packed with all sorts of emotions
Disney in 2021: HEA is gonna sparkle into Disney history! Disney now: *So that was a F'ing lie* MSEP, who keeps returning: Finally, a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary This soundtrack will forever be a masterpiece, and deserves infinite praise for moving us all and lifting our spirits up. Especially during the pandemic, when we turned to this soundtrack during a time when motivation and inspiration is needed most.
Not me realizing I will never get to experience this beautiful show again and all the tears I shed sitting on the sidewalk watching the fireworks. And the amount of emotion this show invokes. I’m actually just now accepting its gone
@@liamf.9901 it’s not that bad but it’s very, idk, boring. Too many silent moments and it just doesn’t make give you that emotional feel Happily Ever After had. My wife and I just got back from Disney last week and although Magic Kingdom was open till 10, they were not doing Happily Ever After. This show, these songs, they made the end of the day special at Disney. I look forward to the day we get back to normal. Thank you for the video.
"Grab ahold of your dreams and make them come true. For you are the key to unlocking your own magic. Now go. Let your dreams guide you" exactly what my grandpa did to rebuild his nation after the war. The US bombed most of our nation, especially our capital. He had to build everything from scratch. And out of the ruins, rose a new shining showcase capital to be proud of. And I will carry his and my father's legacy and will defend it until I am the last man standing.
This April I went to Disney with my high school music department for the Festival Disney music performances. The day after we performed we spent the day in the Magic Kingdom and waited for the fireworks show. Honestly one of the happiest moments of my life, being able to be stupid and sing along to this with friends as we watch and make our director cry because it was his last year with us. Now everytime I listen to this I think of that night and how absolutely amazing it was. I’m so happy that this got reuploaded after being taken down. I don’t think I’d be able to have the memory be as clear without it. Thank you!
Last year I visited Disney world for the first time ever on a school trip and had my first kiss with my boyfriend during the fireworks while this was playing. It was the most magical moment of my entire life. In fact, we're coming up on exactly 1 year from then in just a few days

The “Go The Distance” segment goes hard as I loved that movie when I was young.
They had a winner in there. Even the intro into it was already screaming epic.
The mix of that and Mufasa was pure Gold. Rip James Earl Jones

Nope. I just let it stream down my face like a fountain
I wonder that everyday! And so far I haven't been able too!!

This has to be the best soundtrack to any Disney show ever created. I just don’t think this could ever be beat.
Illumination is the best soundtrack the Happily Ever After in my opinion.
It has a lot of variety and nostalgia. The Christmas fireworks show at Disneyland is a major tear jerker, too, at least it is for me. 🙂

When the narration started with "...And so our journey comes to an end...", I honestly started sobbing because it made me realize I won't be doing trips with him for a while...
hasn’t even been gone that long and i already miss it. this show was the best
I just cried while listening to this. I don't think I've cried this much during the finale of Fantasmic. I haven't even seen Happily Ever After in person yet. Man, the Disney magic. Gotta love it, especially during these times.

Happy 4 years to the day this show premiered! I miss it! Seeing it opening night was an amazing experience that I wish everyone got to experience
My wife and I just got back from Disney last week and although Magic Kingdom was open till 10, they were not doing Happily Ever After. This show, these songs, they made the end of the day special at Disney. I look forward to the day we get back to normal. Thank you for the video.
I heard this song during the fireworks show, and I felt emotional at one point. Such a magical time...
