Hey dave love your videos. I'm kind of a late bloomer when it comes to hunting and trapping but it is definitely something I want to get into and your videos are definitely instructional enough, and I think you would agree that this is definitely something you need to educate yourself about before you just get into it. But thanks and keep'em coming plz
Obviously the guy that wondered if you ever catch anything 'has NOT' watched more than a couple of your videos. (unlike your 'die-hard' followers). I'm not a stalker or anything, LOL But I've seen every video you've put out and I can (with confidence, say;),,"You are the man!", 'Brother Dave'. I've learned more from you than my own Dad. God bless you and your family. You're teachings are invaluable to me and many others, no doubt about it. Thanks for everything you do.
The add before this was for tips on how to prepare a Vegan Thanksgiving feast, lol. Good set up, kind of like a souped up rabbit gum. I'll remember that one.
I've never trapped before in my life but I find this series very interesting. This trap intrigues me the most. Hope you can post an update on this one. Thanks.
yea man dave has cought nice ass red/gray fox... some yotes everything in the books...love the vids dave i want to go to your trapping class just to meet u and learn some new things i like everything about trapping/hunting/outdoors everyday brother keep them comin
grew up in 70s when hunting and trapping was are food source mostly can remember eating a lot of things but not mink can you eat them had muskrat think they taste the same
So many different ways to use those traps, awesome. Any ideas on making a scrap (home made) built trap out of that PVC. More along the lines of In a survival situ could I build a trap from junk.
Since the Mink doesn't care about the trap or whiskers, could you increase the odds of a catch by placing a trap at both ends of the tube or would that be just a waste of a trap you could set somewhere else ?
Dave, I noticed you have the whiskers bent to point at the corners. Is that the direction you've had best luck with? Reason I ask is twofold, 1. I'm not a trapper, but want to learn. 2. I've seen people on the net bend them in a loose diamond pattern.
"You must think like a mink.(and whenever possible to smell like one" Caddy-shack :) No wait. that was a gopher. Enjoying your trapping series. Thank you
Dave, you seem to favor using store bought bait, as I am sure it works better, but is not always available. Could you make a video about utilizing natural bait?
hey Dave, I've seen your video showing how to skin a coyote (the cold one that was left until the next morning) and I wonder if you could expect to find animals already cold, and thus harder to skin, in these killing type traps. is that the case with the conibear traps?
try adjusting your viewing setting... its the gear icon bottom right of the viewer. I've been experiencing some heavy bandwith issues, and RUclips automatically adjusts the vids for stream quality : )
Dave, will you be making any videos using cage-type traps that keep the animal alive and encaged so you can just pick up the cage and take it back to camp. Live food preservation if that makes sense. thx
i would have went with a foot hold for this set instead of the conibear as the way the set is made and knowing how mink run you could have ran two traps one on each end as its not uncommon for a female and a male to run together. also with the trigger set up and the way the conibear is set against the pipe it could cause the conibear to kick out away from the pipe if the mink comes from the inside of the pipe and you could accually get an empty trap
Hey Dave! I have a request of instructional videos of the making and creating of outdoors clothing like one would do in a middle to long term survival situation! If your'e not that into it, maybe you have a friend that's good at it? Or possibly an open mind and start on "square one" along with your viewers?
great vid dave thanks i have a unrelated question in your vid 5 redundancies it sounds like you say 2% iodine i can only find 10% is there a diffidence or did i miss hear you in the vid it was windy but thanks for all you share with us

Living the American dream.
Thank you, Sir!
Dave, just thought I'd mention, you jumped in numbering from Part 35 to Part 38 in the trapping series.

Gran video
arent the jaws towards the pipe gonna hit it ?
Since the Mink doesn't care about the trap or whiskers, could you increase the odds of a catch by placing a trap at both ends of the tube or would that be just a waste of a trap you could set somewhere else ?
Have you seen Jeremiah Johnson? They do that in the movie AND it's a great film too.
Dave you need to sell a shirt that says "it's not a big deal"

Good video thanks.
this set looks like a winner for sure! are there any animals your going to target that you have not shown yet?
"You must think like a mink.(and whenever possible to smell like one" Caddy-shack :) No wait. that was a gopher. Enjoying your trapping series. Thank you
How much standoff from the PVC do you place the trap so the trap doesn't grab the end of the pvc when it goes off?
Dave, you seem to favor using store bought bait, as I am sure it works better, but is not always available. Could you make a video about utilizing natural bait?
will the pvc get washed away if the tide rises quickly?
thanks,
Jon
Some do fold flat, and arent too bulky, might be good to lean against the back of a pack or something similar
Mink? gotta get that fur lined coat :)

working on the snare/trap pen yet?
