You are a lifesaver! You had the only video that I could find to get my 2012 Highlander apart! My daughter spilled a slushy down into my gear console and I needed to take it apart to clean it , since I could no longer shift!! Now I also know how to change that lightbulb!! Thank you!

Thank you for the detailed demonstration. I did exactly what you did in the video. Gave me a chance to thoroughly clean the center console and shifter assembly while changing out the bulb. Great suggestion placing the shifter in neutral. I would love to see more diy from you. Again thank you

I have the 2010 model and did not even realize mine was not working, because the overhead ceiling console (Limited model if that matters) has a tiny projection lamp that lights up the shift console. Now, I'll check and see if I have that bulb as well, since it is not too difficult as explained by you.
Thanks for the tip. Hahaha...I had overfilled coins jammed inside the center cup holder meanwhile the lid didnt close properly. So I had to pry open panel to disclose all the coins stuck inside

WOW, all that for one little bulb. Is it possible that it could be a fuse?
Well, I bet he woulda preferred that, but if he changed the bulb and the bulb started lighting up, then it's not the fuse, it's bulb
How did you shift the gear down? Do you need to put the ignition on position?

I walked into a Toyota dealership and got the bulb. Looked online but noticed it was not a common bulb. Oh lol didn’t break the green cover.

Bought at Toyota dealer nearby. The part# is in video and could probably be bought online.
