I only know “as gard” as being used to agree with someone else and I’ve never heard “how” used in that way. That’s not to discredit what is being said here but being a Creole means the Vincentian speech varies depending on locality and education so even Vincentians will not know or use every word or phrase.
I think he's quite accurate with what he was saying.. But depending on your locality it may be hard to understand some of it.. Especially If you're from North of the island.
As a Vincentian who lived in TNT from the age of 5-9 and had to re-learn the language upon return, I can confirm that Vincentian dialect is a whole language on its own lol. I love you St.vincent home of the bless Edit: Never heard smally being used gotta look that up
He is referring to the language spoken by vincy on a general consensus... of course there are those who practice to speak the Kings english... no shame in speaking dialect....
@lotus9259 Az Gad.. These town people is something else…we can talk proper English when we want, and arwe can talk Vincy dialect wen arwe want and be proud..Am in the diaspora and do both, people love to hear me talk the dialect
Some foreigners usually get mixed up. Vincentians have multiple dialects, instead of one, like other countries. Your presentation depicts a segment of the population. Your advice would be misleading in this instance.
Smally is a Trini slang....most of the slangs are trini slangs that vincies brought back while living/working/visiting in Trinidad from the 1940s up to present day. most Caribbean slangs used by the islands are either Trini or Yardy...they are the most influential Caribbean countries.
So we say smally that means we use you’ll slang. What about the other slang he mention? Those you’lls too. SMH ppl copy ppl all the time which is a form of flattery but you’ll too ignorant and egotistical to know that
