I think we can say Littler has a great opportunity to reach the quarter Final in his debut due to the early defeats of Wade and Wright. This kid is unbelievable good and was unplayable today. Also Ryan Joyce showed Stephen Bunting will have a hard opening match to win. Also Alex Spellman impresses me hope he can get a Tourcard in near future. Yeah and Wright showed again he has big problems at the moment and that the whole year was much too inconsistent to go far in this tournament. Also the fact that Jim Williams didn't have to play his A Game says it all

Littler reminds me so much of Taylor. I don't think he can do what Taylor did. Noblody can these days. But if he can stay committed then he can win a lot. It's just a hard thing to ask of such a young man. I really think Luke can drag MVG, Price, and others back up. Because while the standard of darts has gotten better over the last few years, the top boys really haven't, generally speaking. Yes, you can point to short periods of brilliance, there really hasn't been that shining star (namely Taylor or MVG) over the last few years dragging everyone else up. I really believe Luke can be that spark if MVG or Humphries don't do it. Imagine a world of Humprhies, MVG, Smith, Littler, Price all at their best :) Lots to look forwward to!

Probably the best day of darts so far. Everyone is talking about Littler and deservedly so, kid's the real deal. Kist didn't even play bad and he still got demolished. Less said about Peter Wright the better. Jim Williams didn't even need to be at his best, Peter just didn't look bothered. This was way worse than last year's loss, which says something. Really impressive performances from Willie O'Connor and Ryan Joyce - Bhav Patel isn't the strongest of opponents but if Willie plays like that again I wouldn't be surprised if he beats Dobey. Joyce has been one of the form players as of late, him against Bunting is easily the tie of the second round. Felt for Spellman, he probably would've beaten most of the other Pro Tour qualifiers with a performance like that.
Ross Smith was good as well, fair play to Zonneveld for making a game of it. Veenstra's finishing in key situations was excellent - best we've seen Ben Robb play at Ally Pally yet he didn't win a set. Fair play to Steve Lennon for his comeback, that's pretty much secured him his card for next year. Nerves got the better of Bates at the end. Szaganski was far from his best but did enough, Kantele just wasn't good enough to punish him. If he plays like that against Barney he'll lose easily.
We're really going to get one of Andrew Gilding, Luke Littler, Barney, Matt Campbell, Jim Williams or Radek Szaganski in a world championship quarter final. Has to be the most surprising quarter finalist since what, Aspinall and Humphries on debut in 2019? Jamie Lewis in 2018? Snakebite not being bothered and Wade bottling it again has really opened up that part of the draw. That being said, Gezzy and Gary will be licking their lips, whoever comes through that game will be a heavy favourite to reach the semis. Wouldn't wanna play Littler if he plays like that though.
